Don Lemon Arrested Over Minnesota Church Raid

Don Lemon Arrested Over Minnesota Church Raid

Journalists are not exempt from the FACE Act or other federal criminal laws, even if they are performing their job.

Don Lemon’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, released a statement confirming that authorities arrested Don Lemon on charges that he violated federal law during the ambush on Cities Church in St. Paul, MN.

Other news outlets have reported the same thing.

Lemon live-streamed the anti-ICE psychos storming into the church, interrupting the service.

Lemon even accosted the pastor, trying to lecture him on the First Amendment and free speech.

The tolerant and level-headed Jim Acosta (sarcasm) shared the message from Lowell:

Oh, honey.

Oh, sweet summer child.

The FACE Act LITRALLY says in § 248(a)(2) that a person violates the act if they:

by force or threat of force or by physical obstruction, intentionally injures, intimidates or interferes with or attempts to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person lawfully exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship;

A simple Google search tells you that journalists are not exempt from the FACE Act or other federal criminal laws, even if they are performing their job.

You are NOT allowed to break the law, no matter what, even if you’re gathering the news.

We do not know the charges that Lemon faces.

Last week, a federal magistrate judge refused to sign off on the arrest warrants for Lemon and four people.

The federal court will be the Minneapolis Division 4 which includes several counties outside Hennepin county. Those counties are generally solid red. Thus likely to get far less crazy progressive jury pool.

Let’s see if Lemon stays arrested. I would bet some federal district judge somewhere will find some non-existant loophole to set him free.

I see Acosta has limited who can reply to his posts 🤣🤣

Don Lemon Arrested Over Minnesota Church Raid

Whatever. He’ll just get a cushy plea deal and slap-on-the-wrist punishment from federal prosecutors that will include a very small fine and perhaps a very short period of probation but no prison time and that will be it. Lemon certainly won’t be facing any serious consequences for his behavior that’s for sure. Not like the rest of us would for violation of the FACE Act. But there you go and here we are. That is all.

eot

We’ll see. How many arrests / indictments are publicized by the Attorney General of the United States? Very few. Bondi and Dhillon has been out in front on this. Nothing compels Bondi or Dhillon to make a plea deal, let alone one that would be a Hunter Biden-like sweetheart deal.

Also intresting the guy was nabbed outside Minnesota?

I voted for this.

Instead of “legal observer,” every J6er in the future should wear a GoPro and claim to be citizen journalists “covering” the event.

It makes no difference. There is no special status for “journalists”. The only question is what you are actually doing, and whether you are entitled to do it there. If Lemon was participating in the invasion, then he’s guilty. If he merely followed the invaders and documented what they were doing, without being part of their conspiracy, and without himself disrupting anything, then he’s not guilty. Either way it makes absolutely no difference what title he gives himself.

Youtube just offered me a video of a Big News Industry crew (I forget which network) in Minneapolis being told by an ICE agent that “I don’t care who you are”, and you have to follow the same rules as everyone else. That is how it should always be.

Not over ’til the judge sings.

Cue the ‘but muh 1A’ distorted claims of those who always seem to try and use the 1A as an impenetrable shield from accountability.

well that “tactic” was correctly offered up by the pro life crowd in which I still believe they DO have a 1st amend right to protest outside of clinics even if called out as mean spirited etc

They do still have that right. They just can’t block, intimidate, or harass people trying to access the facility.

The crowd in the church invasion disrupted and intentionally intimidated and harassed parishioners. That’s the illegal part. They could have remained outside and, if they had remained civil, would have been perfectly fine. Arguably, they could have entered the church, maybe even bearing signs, and remained silent and non-disruptive and may have still not breached the law. But Leftists seem to be congenitally incapable of acting civilly for more than a few seconds at a time, if at all.

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | January 30, 2026 at 12:21 pm

Yes indeed. Any implied license to enter carries with it the implied restriction not to disrupt. Outside on the sidewalk they can exercise their 1A, subject to traditional common sense time, place, manner, restrictions without much worry.

While trampling all over other people’s First Amendment rights

👍🏻 👍🏻

Good. It’s about time that swarmy guy caught a charge(s).

I think they were probably able to finally get him because once they arrested the others and got their hands on their phones, they got more evidence to finally convince someone to sign off on him getting arrested.

It’s about time

If storming a church because the pastor is a moonlighting ICE agent, would Minnesota’s Mr. Ellison and Congress’ Hakim Jeffries agree that it ought to be OK to drop a pig’s head at the door of a mosque as an expression of First Amendment rights?

Paula in reply to Kepha H. | January 30, 2026 at 10:34 am

Actually the pastor was not the one who was moonlighting. The pastor of Cities Church is Johnathan Parnell. Easterwood, who is an ICE agent, serves as one of 8 lay pastors in a non-paid position. Easterwood was not even present at the church on Sunday, January 18, 2026, when protesters disrupted the service.

    OwenKellogg-Engineer in reply to Kepha H. | January 30, 2026 at 10:37 am

Except he wasn’t moonlighting, he just suffered having the same name as an agent. These leftists are moronic thugs.

I don’t think that’s the case. If they were really two different people the church would have put out a statement saying so, or at least we’d have seen church members saying so. I think it’s pretty well established that they are the same person, and so what? Neither employer has any objection to his holding both positions; neither one sees any conflict between the two positions. It’s never traditionally been the case, at least in mainstream Christian groups such as the Southern Baptists, that a policeman can’t be a pastor. So what is the issue?

Hodge in reply to Kepha H. | January 30, 2026 at 12:41 pm

Well, if the pig’s head was wearing a microphone they could claim it was a reporter.

destroycommunism | January 30, 2026 at 10:17 am

if its legit then all good

lets see how it goes iin our lefty run world

Cue the butthurt, Abbe. Your hand-waving does no good here.

The group of agitators who entered the all white church was organized by the Racial Justice Network and Black Lives Matter Minnesota and was made up primarily of black activists. They claimed they were bringing a holy witness against “white Christian nationalism”.

Sounds racist to me.

Milhouse in reply to Paula. | January 31, 2026 at 5:03 pm

Is the church “all white”? I mean, it is Minnesota, so it’s not implausible that you could get an entire Southern Baptist congregation together and they’d all happen to be white, but I haven’t seen anything to indicate that this is in fact the case.

destroycommunism | January 30, 2026 at 10:46 am

“conspiracy against rights”

so this was added mostly to nail the pro lifers BUT should be applied of course to the mob that did go into the church:

the additional charge also increases the possible punishment for the crimes from a maximum of one year in prison to up to 11 years of incarceration.

Maybe Lemon can blame the church storming on Umbrella Man, who was publicly identified almost six years ago but weirdly never arrested.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/man-helped-ignite-george-floyd-riots-identified-white/story?id=72051536

Well, never mind. Umbrella Man did it! He is a white supremacists – the media sez so, and that makes it true, amirite? – and as everybody know every single crime in all of human history has been committed by white supremacists and no one else.

destroycommunism | January 30, 2026 at 10:50 am

one of the main arguments made against the pro life crowd and used as a major reasoning for harsh sentencing was that

“it is co-ordinated and planned”

so since that is a main factor it is very easy to see the well coordinated and planned efforts of the pro communist crowd into assisting criminals all they way from the street warriors to the tim walzs and beyond

why not rico the sob’s???

MoeHowardwasright | January 30, 2026 at 11:29 am

Mr Lemon and Abbe Lowell thought he was going to skate. Now Abbe is bleating about the investigations into the two ICE shootings. Had nothing to do with Don’s violations of the FACE Act or his participation in a conspiracy to deprive people of their civil rights to worship.

Complains Lemon’s arrest is meant to distract from the ICE/CBP shootings, while using the shootings to distract from Lemon’s actions at the church.

I’ll say it again: Leftists have no sense of irony and no sense of self-awareness. (Along with no sense of humor, to complete the set.)

The Gentle Grizzly | January 30, 2026 at 12:37 pm

Brrrrup! Brrrrr-UPP! <- the sound of Don Lemon apologists shuffling decks of race cards.

I can’t predict that Lemon will ultimately be convicted but certainly this legal journey should keep him busy for a couple of years, and hopefully will put Hollywoodies on notice that talk in the wrong context ain’t so cheap after all.

Black and Gay, Why bother. It’s a trifecta today,

I wish to personally thank Harmeet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant US Attorney General for Civil Rights, for taking the full power of the US government and bringing to bear the appropriate application of Federal Law. She does not play games—she kicks butt and asks for names🧐

Lemon should be made an example of – show trial followed by firing squad please. Okay the FACE Act doesn’t allow that degree of punishment, but the absolute maximum should be enforced.
