Democrats Reach Verdict in Minneapolis ICE Shooting
“At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.”
It took about a nanosecond for Democrats to seize upon the fatal shooting of a woman during an ICE operation in south Minneapolis late Wednesday morning. Renee Good’s death in an ICE-involved shooting provided a perfect opportunity to push the narrative that federal agents enforcing U.S. immigration laws are the villains.
Hoping to provoke a George Floyd–style reaction, Democratic politicians and pundits quickly characterized the shooting of a driver — who accelerated her vehicle as an ICE agent stood in her path — as a murder.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–NY) told reporters that “murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.”
“So this has now turned into what our greatest fear is and has been for a long time about ICE — that it would be used as an anti-civilian force that has no accountability,” she said. “At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.”
Apparently, she forgot that ICE is tasked with enforcing U.S. immigration laws — laws created by Congress of which she herself is a member.

In the clip below, newly minted New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani tells reporters, “This morning, an ICE agent murdered a woman in Minneapolis. … This is one part of what has been a year full of cruelty, we know when ICE agents attack immigrants, they attack every single one of us across this country.”
Mamdani:

Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee echoed those sentiments. After claiming that DHS lies “everyday,” they noted in a post on X, “She was murdered by ICE — and DHS’s first reaction is to blame the victim and call them a terrorist. Truly disgusting. Now we’re hearing ICE didn’t let doctors on the scene. ICE needs to leave MN now.”
Just because DHS says it on Fox or X, doesn’t make it true. They lie everyday.

Writer, journalism professor, and former defense attorney Seth Abramson explained in a lengthy thread on X why his “gut” tells him this is Second-Degree Murder.
Obviously there’ll need to be a full investigation—and there may be things we don’t know—but as a former criminal defense lawyer who worked homicide cases, my gut tells me this is Second-Degree Murder. As with all things ICE, every encounter is mishandled. pic.twitter.com/hj2Cfu0l9h

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey had a message for ICE: “To ICE, get the f*** out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here. … People are being hurt. Families are being ripped apart. Longtime Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city, to our culture, to our economy, are being terrorized and now somebody is dead. …”
BREAKING: Jacob Frey tells ICE to "get the f*ck out" of Minneapolis or more violence will occur.
Imagine if he put this much passion into helping actual American citizens instead of illegals.

For embattled Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the incident provided just the distraction he needed from the massive fraud scandal that has engulfed his administration in recent months. He told reporters: “To Donald Trump and Kristi Noem: You’ve done enough. … I’ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard. We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed if necessary.”

Reacting to a DHS report about the incident on X, Walz noted he’d “seen the video” and warned people, “Don’t believe this propaganda machine.”
I’ve seen the video.

But here’s a reality check: this incident will not trigger the nationwide unrest that followed George Floyd’s death in May 2020 for several reasons. First, because Good was white and thus, her death mattered less than if she had been a person of color.
Second, as the commenter below correctly observes, “It’s winter and ain’t nobody of color rioting for a white woman in twenty below weather.”
Two reasons we will not have a “George Floyd” situation in Minnesota…
1) The woman was white.
2) It’s winter and ain’t nobody of color rioting for a white woman in twenty below weather.

But there’s a third reason. People have eyes. Video of the incident shows officers asking Good to exit the vehicle. And rather than complying with their request, as an agent stood in front of her car, she accelerated.
He responded by firing his weapon. Photographs of the vehicle afterward show bullet holes in the windshield and the front of the left side mirror, indicating that the shots were fired as the car moved toward him, not from the side.
As the X user points out in the post below, the agent was forced to “make an instantaneous decision.”
The vehicle was pointed directly at an officer in front of it as it accelerated.
Assess intent now after the fact with the luxury of hindsight & slow-mo, but the officer in the path of the accelerating vehicle had to make an instantaneous decision.
It would appear justified. pic.twitter.com/fF2BiAVhiR

Finally, according to an article in The Minnesota Star Tribune, after a reporter filled in Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, on details of the incident, she said, “That’s so stupid. She was probably terrified.”
Ganger said her daughter is “not part of anything like that at all,” referring to protesters challenging ICE agents.
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” she said. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
Well, apparently, Good was part of something “like that.” Had she not been, she would still be alive.

A clear case of lesbocide
This ding dong is the epitome of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Frankly the article isn’t exactly impartial.
Don’t you have more butts to see?
I see an ass right now
You must be looking in the mirror.
Well, since your head is so firmly wedged in your a–hole, how could you not? Ass is your entire existence.
For laying out facts? The fact is Renee was there to impede ICE ops. The fact is Renee was told to exit her vehicle and refused. The fact is Renee accelerated and tried to drive away, not caring that there was an ICE officer in front of her vehicle. The fact is Renee is very dead because she was stupid.
All that is true. I’d add to it her ill informed sense of entitlement that she was somehow ‘allowed’ to do all those things while LEO and especially ICE were supposed to let her do so, remaining passive, following some sort of script/ROE where ‘protesters’ aren’t allowed to be detained, arrested and can ignore LEO commands and do whatever they want. Those things might be true with local cops in Seattle or other soft on crime woke blue jurisdiction but the Feds ain’t following that script and a large number of Red States won’t either.
Yep, another reality(not) is shifty schitt stating unbelievable bullshit.
How in the heavens can some of America elect that cockroach?
Although I cannot talk as there are plenty of Aussies who elect far left commies to our gubmint too.
Aghast I am
Pat
Everything that you just posted is 100% correct. She and her group were troublemakers, and that is a fact. She should not have been there, and she should have complied with the ICE officer’s request. When an officer asks you to step out of the vehicle, or show your ID, or whatever else he requests, just DO IT!
Good. I come here for truth, not equivocation.
And now that driver is a good traitor
Democrats, being such compassionate souls, are darn near giddy over this young mother losing her life over anti USA rhetoric that she and so many others have bought into, hook, line and sinker.
Well Dems, you should be happy. Someone lost their life.
You’re noticeably giddy. It’s disturbing
FU
That will be my last comment to you.
D Voters to Congress: You need to get shot, spill blood for holy progressivism!
Congressional Ds: Nope, that’s your job. Ours is to make speeches about your noble death, then not be late for reservations at The Monocle
“But there’s a third reason. People have eyes. Video of the incident shows officers asking Good to exit the vehicle. And rather than complying with their request, as an agent stood in front of her car, she accelerated.”
That’s exactly right. Based on upvotes and comments across social media, most Americans aren’t as willfully blind as AOC, Walz, and Mamdani, but leave it to sh*tlibs to take the 20 side of yet another 80-20 issue.
Even the shitlibs are having to adjust their propaganda.
Their latest line of BS is, ‘OK well yeah it was LEGALLY justified, but the ICE agent was just looking for an excuse to murder her!’
When even somebody like Stephen Smith has to admit its legally justified, you’ve lost the plot.
She had the bad luck to aim her car at a cop who had been dragged down the pavement by an illegal within the past year. He already had a free “get out of excuse” card..
Only black men with criminal backgrounds can achieve sainthood. Any way, the excuse “I did not do anything wrong”. Is hard to retranslate into ebonics.
One thing I would suggest though is that ICE accelerate their purchase and distribution of bodycams, Unlike what the left thought would happen instead of showing criminal contact of police the existence of bodycams has shown how stupid and entitled and noncompliant many perps actually are.
Ain’t that the truth. Lefties all thought that these cop body cams would show the world – tout de monde – how vicious American cops were.
Oops.
this is spot on
and then lefty has to resort to ….the video is wrong
and now they will doctor court evidence and hmmmm vote counting evidence etc
The positioning of the left front tire – headed up the street and not aimed at the agent – is quite suggestive that she didn’t intend to hit him.
What’s more relevant however is what the agent thought she was about to do since he was in no position to see how that tire was positioned.
Obviously he has great incentive to make any number of self-serving statements.
He’s standing 2 feet in front of the car when she squeals the tires. He has NO IDEA where the tires are pointing, and to claim he does is just stupid.
The gun doesn’t even come out until she slams on the gas.
She was going so fast she totaled another vehicle after traveling approximately 50 feet.
I don’t think he was thinking let me see if she kills me with her car first.
That’s what fscarn said.
Not well.
the left is making the self serving statements as well
thats natural
she was in the street with a vehicle parked at an angle which is meant as a roadblock
her wife was on the sidelines…why didnt the wife stay in the car….hmmmmm
I have heard the cry of he could have jumped out of the way. He was standing on wet pavement with snow and ice all around. I don’t know that I would count on jumping out of the way. That could easily turn into fall under the car.
Maybe he should have tried to shoot the car out of her hand.
In any case he had no duty to retreat.
She put herself in danger the moment she hit that accelerator.
The position of the tire is irrelevant. The fact that the vehicle was accelerating when there was a human being standing in front of it is the only “position” that matters.
If you watch the video in slow-motion, you will see that the front tires were actually still pointing slightly LEFT when the driver hit the gas and spun the wheels. That was the point the officer drew his gun and shot. She did indeed start turning to the right immediately after hitting the gas, but when she first accelerated, and when the officer had to make a split-second decision, the wheels were still slightly left and the vehicle was pointing directly at the officer.
While I personally question the decision to shoot, I do believe it was legally justified.
The tire was still pointing LEFT when it began spinning. She turned the wheel after the engine was revving … if you look carefully at the video. The agent at close quarters could not determine the “projected direction”, only the initial direction before he had to decide.
Self Defense does not require being “absolutely correct”, but only subjectively and objectively reasonable in assessing “death or serious bodily injury.”
Having been hit and drug before, this also becomes part of his “knowledge of events” that must be accounted for in a SelfDefense trial.
Self serving statements? Perhaps, in the interest of his own integrity and personal/professional ethics, “he has great incentive to make any number of”, (here one), honest, truthful statements. Would you, under his circumstances, not have perceived a threat of death or great bodily harm when a 4ish thousand pound SUV, operated by belligerents who have just committed at least two felonies, begins accelerating directly at you from 3-4 feet? Perhaps you are much braver than our ICE agents and would have perceived it as a carnival ride waiting to begin. You began in a reasonable tone but came off the rails with the suggestion that the agent may not be telling the truth as to his actions. You and too many others making mealy mouthed comments have obviously never walked a mile in the moccasins of an LEO. (Also, it can be seen that her tires were aiming the SUV at the agent until he pulled his gun to defend himself. The tires appear to have turned at about the same time his firearm came out and online. This still doesn’t imply her actual intent was to run over the agent but assists in making his case as to feeling that he was “in the line of fire” of this 4ish thousand pound weapon.)
This is why the media had to make up so many lies about Kyle Rittenhouse because he shot two white dudes. So the media left out that information about the deceased and tried ot obscure that Kyle shot antifa weirdo white guys who was attacking him with guns and skateboards etc. Once that finally fully came out people were like “um and why do we care about this situation?” Death of a white person by law enforcement is likely a non starter. Now if she was a minority or special protected person of some kind say Muslim, transgender than maybe. Or if she was killed by a Jew than we might really have something here. But she’s just a white lesbian. And it doesn’t feed the narrative.
The Rittenhouse coverage by LI was so good. I never followed a case so closely but Prof. J. was on top of it 100%
The argument can reasonably be made these protesters are, by their very presence, interfering with ICE in the performance of its duties. At a minimum, they’re a time-wasting distraction.
Based on that, if such protesters were immediately detained for the safety of everyone, all of this would soon stop. There would be no point in showing up. Even if released soon after an ICE operation was completed, detaining these people would make it pointless to do so.
The right to protest wouldn’t be interfered with, since there would be nothing stopping these people from pulling a permit and screaming like harpies somewhere else.
I agree, I don’t understand why people are allowed to get so close to the officers and their work? I can’t do that with regular poloce operations; they make a perimeter and keep people out. I know I’m not knoweldgeable on how this all works, so maybe someone else on here can explain why portetsors have been allowed to be so interactive with ICE agents? Is it because the operations are covert and they have no time to set up up boundaries? Is it a lack of funding? Or is that a violation of people’s rights to demonstrate? Are the offocers just trying to interact w/ the community to decrease tensions? What is the rationale here?
Combo of things. Manpower available is a big part. Yesterday you had a few dozen folks stalking/harassing and impeding. To arrest them would take a minimum of 2-3 X the number in the mob. You’d need 2-3 buses to transport them. You’d need drivers, guards and escort vehicles. That’s assuming the mob didn’t actively resist being arrested and try to fight LEO.
That is on top of whatever number of ICE agents were assigned to the actual purpose of the operation. The local jurisdiction isn’t cooperative so they’d need a separate fairly large, fairly close Federal detention facility to hold, book, process the mob. That needs a separate staff to run it.
ICE does not want the hassle of dealing with that. Gonna be lawsuits baseless or not over the arrests, treatment, transport and the conditions of the detention facility. Gonna be another mob coming to the detention facility to ‘protest’.
Frankly I’d argue for regional facilities. Put one each in the NE, SE, SW, NW and Midwest. Get arrested in MN as part of mob? Tough cookies your regional facility is in rural Indiana, rural OH or somewhere ICE friendly. Sucks to be you, no whining about distance b/c the Feds had to limit operations at facilities nearer or even in MN due to threat level from the same ideological mob you are a part of.
IMO they should run some decoy ops. Stage as if it’s a immigration raid to lure the mob but instead encircle the mob and arrest them when they refuse to disperse and stop illegally impeding LEO. Dont let them run away ‘now youse can’t leave’ and arrest everyone, haul their butt to a Federal detention facility, book them, run them for warrants/parole and probation violations. Put them in front of a Federal Judge/Magistrate and start filling up the docket of every Federal District Court where this mob action goes on.
In my opinion, the federal government should muster whatever resources are needed to make it happen. Once protestors realize it’s not worth their while and stop showing up due to the PITA effect, the government can back off manpower-wise.
No, they should sue the state government for failing to police their jurisdiction against unlawful obstruction.
Unfortunately, Minnesota is one of the places where the state and local government ssupport protests and riots.
From where though? That’s where it gets tricky. Every Federal LEO surged into MN was assigned somewhere else. They had already surged a few thousand Federal LEO into MN before the incident yesterday.
I do agree 100% that wholesale arrests of the mob would begin to put a damper on their enthusiasm. Federal charges are no joke. Patty cake local jurisdiction process of catch and release with minor fine or time served, (if not dismissed entirely) or short probation doesn’t compare. It would also have the effect of clogging up Federal Court dockets, arrest a few hundred or a thousand members of a mob and insist on prosecution and suddenly the Judiciary has its hands full with little time for much other than these cases.
The state government has no such duty. That’s long established law. No government has a duty to prevent any given crime. Even when the police stand there watching someone be assaulted, neither they nor the government can be held liable for it because they have no duty to act.
@CommoChief:
No need to prosecute. Release them once the operation is completed. They’re clearly getting advance notice so that they can interfere. By detaining them as soon as they show up, the ability to interfere is taken away. If done consistently, the word will get around and sooner or later they’ll stop showing up.
Regional facilities. This is what we’ve come to. This country is broke and no amount of effort is going to put it back together again. The democrats don’t sound like an opposition party. They sound like the politicians of a country the US is at war with.
Yeah, we can all wish it wasn’t this way but it appears so. The ‘Sunbelt Republic” or even a ‘Greater Sunbelt Republic’ with wider membership is looking more and more appealing.
I agree with the Regional facilities but have another solution for actual crowd control.
The military has plenty of airport firefighting trucks that can spray large volumes of liquids. Use some of those as water cannons to disperse protestors interfering with Federal law enforcement. It should be very effective in places like Minnesota in the winter.
DHS could add dye as a way to identify those guilty of assault etc. that fled and skunk smell to act as a further disincentive.
Yes, but that perimeter can’t be any farther away than necessary to prevent physical interference.
>> …Even when the police stand there watching someone be assaulted, neither they …
So I’ve always understood, the current prosecution of the school resource officer in Uvalde is puzzling, is there a factor I’m missing?
I cheated and asked chatgpt, and this is what it came up with. I have not fact checked this, but it seems plausible:
———————————
A school district police officer is considered to have a duty of care because:
* They are employed specifically to protect students
* They have law-enforcement authority on campus
* They are assigned to the school during school hours
* Students are compelled by law to attend school, making them dependent on the adults there for safety
Prosecutors argue that this places school police officers squarely within the group that has care, custody, or control of students while they are on campus.
A very early SCOTUS case (based in the wild west) established that being arrested immediately triggers this “special responsibility of protection,” because the arrestee is disarmed and the arrestee can’t flee from third-party danger.
Now look at kids in a school. Hm, same parameters.
Found it — Logan v. US, 1892.
“..because the arrestee is disarmed and the arrestee can’t flee from third-party danger….”
I want to make the same argument when the guvment want’s to create Gun-Free-(except for murderers)-Zones and leave me defenseless … that gov’t must now assure MY protection, otherwise, just let me be responsible for myself.
25 to 30 feet seems very reasonable, far enough to give notice/respond time if they rush while close to record/observe. IMO interfere also encompasses diverting on scene LEO to deal with a couple of goofs walking up too close and wigging out (much less a mob) v doing whatever operation they were there to do.
Democrats have not been this agitated and confrontational since 1860. All they need now is a Fort Sumter.
Timmy is trying hard.
“Based on that, if such protesters were immediately detained for the safety of everyone, all of this would soon stop.”
This is what was happening when she decided to escalate to felony eluding and assault with a deadly weapon. She was being ordered out of the vehicle as part of being detained by federal law enforcement.
She wasn’t immediately detained before she drove INTO the ICE perimeter, which is why she was then being stopped and detained. MN isn’t policing their jurisdictions for lawbreaking nutter butters.
No, that argument can’t be made unless they’re actually literally interfering. Standing a few feet away screaming is their constitutional right.
That’s not what the right to protest is. Just as pro-life protesters can’t be kept farther away from abortion clinics than is necessary to allow people to get in and out freely, and the Phelps family can’t be kept farther away from soldiers’ funerals ditto, these people have to be allowed close enough to make their opinions known to the ICE officers, not just to the public in general, and may only be kept far enough away that they’re not actually in the agents’ way.
If the local police were supporting ICE, they could set up a perimeter across the street, and the protesters could scream from behind the barriers. Or if the national guard were available they could do that. We’re getting to a point where regular troops will be assigned to such duties. But right now ICE hasn’t got the resources.
This is what Democrats have been waiting and hoping for-an incident. The protest signs were already made, the narratives rehearsed, the specific phrases ready for the media. These anarchist groups confronting ICE all over the country are nothing more than organized and funded agitprop groups trying to keep illegals away from ICE and kept here for the benefit of Democrat electoral chances and Democrat government funding fraud schemes. With out more and more illegals and more welfare dependents on taxpayer money and the kick backs to Democrat pols, the smaller the actual Democrat party becomes, meaning in essence Democrats are fighting to maintain their political existence as a major political force instead of a minor party with limited constituents among normal mainstream Americans which Democrats of today are no longer fit to govern or capable of governing without their life support of criminal activity.
This is what Democrats have been waiting and hoping for-an incident.
So was the last one. And the one before that. They manufacture incidents so often Trump wishes he could take credit for bringing back more manufacturing.
Nothing ever really incites the revolution because they’re all lies.
I have an answer, just shut down all the fed buildings in the inter cities NYC, Minn, Washington. Let them crash and burn. As for the protester, a nice freezing spray should do great.
lefty is fawning all over the “poet/mom/lezbian ( yeah cause that doessss mattta now to the lefty narrative) who attempted but failed,,at which point she would have been lionized, to murder a LEO
while unarmed ashlie babbit was actually murdered by the patriotic heroic ( according to elites) for protesting peacefully
the left has what they want
a usa turned upside down
good is bad and bad is good
thank a huggy bear for that
Or, in the graphic novel version…
“ “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” she said. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.””
Hoo boy! I heard statements like that a few times when I was a beat cop.
It may all be true, but it’s irrelevant. It may even be true that she didn’t mean to hit the agent; that’s irrelevant too.
“She was just turning her life around. And her car. Just turning her car around.”
The left is prone to judgment first, investigation and trial, if warranted, afterwards. Let the FBI alongside local police do the investigation and report. The facts will be found as they are. Keep in mind that these are split second decisions by officers and SCOTUS itself has said in such fatality cases we need to look at all factors. The video and preliminary indications are that she was either running down the officer or he reasonably thought she was. But, let’s wait for the investigation to be complete before making a firm judgment.
It really doesn’t matter why she accelerated towards the ICE agent. She was recklessly operating a 4K lb lethal weapon.
The motive or “the why” someone accelerates a vehicle toward an officer is often not the primary factor. If the actions objectively create an imminent deadly threat, deadly force is justified regardless of whether the driver meant harm, was scared, or was trying to escape.
why was the “wife” of the soldier not in the vehicle with her?
did they not arrive together?
why did she get out of harms way?
did the “husband” say
as your protector
I want you out of the vehicle as some sh might go down!!??
She got out to film it.

“But there’s a third reason. People have eyes. Video of the incident shows officers asking Good to exit the vehicle.”
Point of order: Officers did not “ask”. Officers ordered her to get out of the vehicle as part of detaining her. When the officer with the badge and the gun tells you to get out of the car, driving off is not a legal action.
Her wife was already out of the vehicle recording video of the incident they were planning to incite. They just incited a little more the the two of them planned. The real planners, that never risk themselves, are very happy with the outcome. The wife thinks she has no culpability but she is wrong. I would love to see the texts etc. from both of their phones.
Good’s lesbian partner got out of the SUV and filmed to see how ICE would react. They were not there to observe ICE arresting illegals. They were there to film ICE in a scenario that they themselves set up. And it backfired.
They forced an interaction that otherwise would not have happened.
the major problem with these people/showmen is that they don’t understand/speak English; they just don’t know the difference between murder and self-defense
That’s WAY too complicated for their mentality.
They still haven’t figured out the difference between speech and violence.
This is a chain of a long line of Karens using their cars as weapons against ICE agents.
No one is able to zoom out on this incident, but reports indicate this was one of several Karen cars on the scene. She’s not a lone observer.
GROK analyzed the stickers on the window… there’s an ACLU sticker.
She doesn’t live there. Who was paying her and her “wife” to be there?
She’s a domestic terrorist who put a quarter in the FAFO jukebox and finally got to dance.
Yet Ashlii Babbitt and Roseanne Boyland deserved to be killed and Officer Byrd got promotion and time off for killing Ashlii.
The Marxists have been encouraging people to attack ICE hoping someone gets killed so they can gyn up another St Floyd situation and start riots all over again.
To be fair, we’ve reached a verdict too. Sure, there needs to be an investigation, but that’s just due diligence. We already know what happened. The video shows that it was a justified shooting, regardless of what was going on in the driver’s mind, which we will never know anyway.
But we do know the last thing that went through it,
While it is sad that this happened, I am not going to wade in until the investigation is done. However, I see no reason why the feds are not taking stronger non-lethal measures like I use to see 50 years ago. Just block off the street with two fire pumpers at the street entry points, set up a line and use the fire truck to enforce it with high pressure water. I can imagine that this would be especially effective in cold weather. A police line is a police line. Cross it at your own peril.
Riiiiiight. Because we all know that illegal aliens will totally not react to two large fire trucks setting up at the opposite ends of their street.
Part of these operations are sneaking up on their targets. It’s also why they attract a convoy of lefties shadowing them all day, blowing whistles whenever they can.
1) eye witness says Renee Good was the leader of the obstruction pack, 1st car in a line of cars attempting to block ICE from moving, that she had intentionally blocked the entire road by parking across both lanes.
2) the agent who shot her can be seen limping after she pulls away and crashes.
3) as noted by Elizabeth, bullet holes prove the shots came from the front
4) six+ months ago that same agent had been dragged 100 yards by an illegal alien after a traffic stop,
I wonder what will happen when Trump federalizes Walz’s much vaunted state National Guard.
Ooops!
