Columbia Student Who Fantasized About ‘Murdering Zionists’ Could be Readmitted This Fall
“be grateful that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists”
In the spring of 2024, a Columbia student named Khymani James, who was actively involved with the anti-Israel encampment on campus, made a video in which he said, “Be grateful that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists.”
“Be glad — be grateful — that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists. I’ve never murdered anyone in my life, and I *hope* to keep it that way.” This is a top leader of @Columbia’s encampment, with whom the school is “negotiating,” expanding on his thoughts about how Israel… pic.twitter.com/ugodO4O7M5

Weeks later, James was banned from campus, but now he might be allowed to return to the school.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
Columbia Vowed To Expel Khymani James, Who Fantasized About ‘Murdering Zionists.’ He Could Return This Fall.
Columbia University encampment organizer Khymani James, who has fantasized about “murdering Zionists,” could return to campus this fall, even though the Ivy League university promised he would be expelled.
Columbia revealed in a Dec. 17 court filing that it sent James a letter in August denying his request to lift his April 2024 suspension following a stretch of anti-Semitic activities and remarks, such as participating in illegal encampments and saying Zionists “don’t deserve to live.” While the letter rejected his bid to reenroll in the fall 2025 semester, it also said he “will be eligible to reapply to return for the Fall 2026 semester.”
That flatly contradicts what Columbia told Rep. Virginia Foxx (R., N.C.) when she chaired the House Committee on Education and Workforce. In September, she said the university “made a direct statement to me that Khymani James would be expelled for his antisemitic rhetoric – my committee staff at the time were present as well when the statement was made.”
Columbia did not return a request for comment.
Keeping the door open for James appears to stand at odds with Columbia’s pledge to rein in campus anti-Semitism. The decision on whether to welcome him back in the fall could serve as an early test for the university’s incoming president, Jennifer Mnookin, who will step into the role around when the school will make a determination. As Columbia’s fourth president in two years, Mnookin’s appointment comes at a tumultuous time as the university continues to recover from a protracted battle with the Trump administration over campus anti-Semitism.
This student was in the news again last fall for cheering for the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Campus Reform reported:
Columbia pro-Hamas encampment leader Khymani James calls for ‘More. MORE!!!’ after Kirk assassination
Responding to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, former Columbia University encampment leader Khymani James appears to be demanding the killing of more conservatives.
Columbia professor Shai Davidai explained James “has called for me and my fellow Israelis to die” and demanded he be expelled in an X post. Another Columbia student, Shoshana Aufzien, also called for James’ expulsion. “What is @Columbia waiting for?” Aufzien asked, pointing to James’ previous statement that people should be “grateful” that he isn’t “going out and murdering Zionists.”
James’ other recent tweets include “NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED” and a defense of people “celebrating the inevitable and just fate of fascists.” James’ posts incite the perpetuation of political violence as he demands “More. MORE!!!” then says “Down with all the fascists,” in a post accompanied by a heart-eyes emoji.

Earlier this week, Columbia University announced that it has chosen the University of Wisconsin-Madison chancellor as the next president. Columbia University has selected Jennifer Mnookin, currently the Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, to be its new president, ending a national search.
Mnookin, a legal scholar, has held the top post at UW-Madison since August 2022 and will assume the job on July 1, 2026.

Well if this is the type of person they want to attend, then let them. Screw them as they’ve lost their credibility and prestige.
