Authorities Still Searching for Brown University Gunman

“We are also advising every member of the Brown community to be vigilant in their own activities on campus.”

As Ben noted yesterday, authorities released the person of interest in the Brown University shooting that killed two people and injured nine others.

Attorney General Peter Neronha announced “lab tests on evidence linked to the detained man ‘came back negative,’ and that the evidence ‘now points in a different direction.'”

Authorities have asked the public to come forward with any information.

“As Providence police continue to lead this investigation, they have informed Brown that they are continuing their search efforts, which includes ongoing coordination with multiple agencies,” the school said in a statement. “There continues to be a heightened amount of local, state and federal police activity in the area as law enforcement continues to investigate and patrol with increased vigilance.”

Brown urged students and staff to remain vigilant.

“We continue to make every effort to ensure the safety and security of the campus,” said the school in its latest announcement. “We are also advising every member of the Brown community to be vigilant in their own activities on campus.”

Everyone with privacy concerns: “We object to living in a surveillance state with 800 cameras, facial recog software, digital i.d., profile data base, key card access, etc!”

University authorities who monitor a surveillance campus with 800 cameras, facial recog software, digital i.d., profile data base, key card access, etc.: “Er, derp, we got nothing about what went on in that classroom, who this is perp, or where the perp went. Derp.”

Seems legit…

The only images I have seen so far are of him walking away. A frontal image would be nice. If you’ll recall the Charlie Kirk shooter was identified by a family friend because of an image released to the public.

He is still at large because there was no one equipped or ready to respond to the attack. A single person carrying in that classroom might have at least panicked him – which will make it easier to find/follow him. He could do all of the right things avoiding detection because he knew he could get away with it.

Or even deterred him altogether. A blood trail and a wounded killer would definitely be easier to track down.

How can the authorities find someone they don’t want to find? Right now the gun control fanatics are having a ball with this, and it would spoil The Narrative (TM) if the perp came from the Aloha Snackbar side.

The anti firearm goons gonna face a very skeptical audience trying to put this on ‘lax or weak’ gun control laws in Rhode Island which has pretty severe impediments to 2A liberties.

Then there’s the blanket restrictive policies of Brown Univ which prohibits firearms possession on Univ grounds by anyone except LEO and Private Security/Dignitary Protection who must apply/receive special authorization from the Univ.

Sure, the leftists and their fellow travelers in legacy media will try to spin a narrative but anyone capable of persuasion willing to listen, review evidence/facts before jumping to conclusions is not gonna be swayed by an argument that more ‘gun control’ is needed.

They will spin it as still not being enough. As of Dec 1 our libraries are completely gun free, incl CHL. The librarians were not happy when I informed them that they were on their own now, as not only do I face the front door, but I now I locate near the rear exit as well. First sign of trouble I am out of there. I am also no longer available for medical emergencies, except for a couple of geezers that I like. I’ll let them contemplate whether this move has made them safer or not, because the feral homeless addicts are still wandering in and out with machetes, hunting knives, and baseball bats. But I still have situational awareness and an escape plan in place.

Boo hoo, the authorities had to release the scary white guy with the “laser sight attachment?” It must have curdled their morning porridge.

It is possible the ‘person of interest’ was a decoy.
