Trump Tells Pentagon to Prepare For ‘Action’ if Nigeria Fails to End Massacre of Christians
Secretary Hegseth: “Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”
President Donald Trump on Saturday ordered the Department of War to map out a possible military ‘action” against Nigeria if the African nation fails to stop the ongoing massacre of Christians.
President Trump also threatened to end all aid and financial support going to Nigeria, a country heavily dependent on U.S. assistance.
“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” President Trump posted on Truth Social. “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians!”

Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, confirmed that his department was “preparing for action.”
“Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” Secretary Hegseth said, responding to the White House tweet.
Yes sir.
The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria — and anywhere — must end immediately. The Department of War is preparing for action. Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities. pic.twitter.com/C0v9RHGoS1

Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa with a population of around 236 million, is nearly 54% Muslim. Christians make up about 47% of the population. In the late 1990s, Nigerian Christians began facing persecution after almost a dozen Muslim majority provinces declared Sharia rule.
The persecution turned into genocide in 2009 when the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram declared jihad and launched a murderous campaign against the Christians in Nigeria. According to the Christian watchdog Open Doors, “More believers are killed for their faith in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world.”
“The attacks are shockingly brutal. Many believers are killed, particularly men, while women are often kidnapped and targeted for sexual violence,” the group says.
Fox News noted the growing persecution of Christians in Nigeria
The situation for Christians in Nigeria has reached an alarming level. Entire villages have been burned to the ground, worshipers killed during Sunday services, and thousands displaced by Islamist groups sweeping through the country’s northern and central regions.
In June, militants attacked the village of a bishop, just days after he testified before Congress about Christian persecution, leaving more than twenty people dead. Similar assaults in Plateau and Benue states have killed hundreds this year alone, with survivors describing how gunmen shouted, “Allahu Akbar” as they torched churches and homes.
President Trump’s warning comes as Christians face increased persecution all across Africa. Last week, Arab-Islamist militias stormed a province in southern Sudan, unleashing a massacre of Christians. In one instance, hundreds of women and children were reported killed in cold blood as gunmen attacked a maternity ward.

No. Just no. It’s Africa. We have a lot bigger fish to worry about.
If “we” don’t step up to save fellow Christian’s no one will. This is why adults are now in charge.
This is actually a cause worth taking up, unlike so many the left is committed to that do nothing to further Christian/Western values and does everything to undermine those values in every way possible.
If we don’t step up to save the South Vietnamese from slavery, no one will.
If we don’t step up to save the Somalis from starvation, no one will
If we don’t step up to impose peace in Lebanon, no one will.
And what’s this about “fellow Christians”? The United States, by design, has no established religion, and as our first treaty with Morocco said, it is therefore no more Christian than it is Moslem.
Do you have a problem with someone putting their foot down to stop genocide? More than 7000 Christians have been slaughtered there, so far, in 2025.
So do you think the USA should have stepped up to protect the South Vietnamese, to feed the Somalis, to impose peace on Lebanon, to bring democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan, and all the other military adventures the USA has embarked on in order to help those whom no one else would help? If so, fine, but Trump made a huge deal out of criticizing those actions. How is this any different?
We are not the world’s policemen. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t help where we can — that would be the Kitty Genovese theory of foreign affairs. But it means we have no obligation to do so, and that we should not squander our own servicemen’s lives and our taxpayers’ money on such altruistic endeavors if there is no benefit to us.
The president is entrusted with command of the US armed forces, to be used for the US people’s benefit, not for that of the world. Altruistic missions should be scrutinized very thoroughly, and should have broad public support.
Why wait, stop all aid to that hell hole now.
Finally someone of importance is speaking out for the Christians in Nigeria. President Trump should do the same for the Christians in Darfur. I wish some Jewish voices would speak out as well. Christians and Jews are in the same boat when it comes to Islam.
Which Jews? It’s not as if Jews have a leader or that people give a crap about what Jews say.
Who should speak up is South Africa which is 85% christian, majority black, and African. However, they would much rather speak out against Israel.
There are three types of Jewish leaders that can speak out: Leaders of major organizations, Jewish pundits (think Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin) and major Jewish rabbis. As for South Africa, it is going the way of Zimbabwe.
Oh, good grief. No. Everytime the USA wages war in some far flung islamic craphole, we feel compeled to import millions of ‘refugees’ who bring their far flung islamic craphole culture with them.
No. Good grief. No.
Well a few well placed drone attacks would go a long ways
The followers of the 7th century psychopath has brought nothing but misery and death to anyone exposed to its toxic creed.
Trump ended the second Iraq war with a well placed missile up an Iranian ass-et. Will the Nigerians be left to an Afghan fate is unknown. Black lives matter [un]incorporated.
“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries.”
I really don’t like where this is going. The man talks about stopping wars, but he’s just as wiling to start them. This isn’t trolling anymore.
Cut off their foreign aid? Entirely appropriate, and should be done without delay, Isolate them, don’t invade them.
You know you have a little dyslexia if the first time you read the headline you are confused about Niagara Falls being in the news.
I first heard about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria when LBJ was President.
Just put a huge tariff on their oil and any country the buys oil from them.
Or at least talk to their oil customers about putting pressure on them to act appropriately!
I suspect that through diplomatic channels, Trump has previously and privately made his demands to Nigeria.
Since Nigeria told Trump to pound sand, Trump made his message public.
