The Senate voted 60-40 to end the Schumer Shutdown.
The continuing resolution heads back to the House. President Donald Trump has to sign off on it before the government reopens.
The bill funds “military construction, veterans’ affairs, the Department of Agriculture and the legislative branch through Sept. 30, 2026, and the rest of the government through Jan. 30.”
The same Democratic senators who voted to end the filibuster voted to pass the bill:
Maine Independent Sen. Angus King also voted to pass the CR.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will give the House a 36-hour notice to reconvene. He also wants the House Rules Committee “to lay the groundwork for the bill” as soon as possible.
