Reaction to Fetterman’s Fall: GOP Sent Prayers, Democrats Sent Hate

“I’ve drunk deeply of the venom of both the left and the right. And as a connoisseur, I can confirm that the most poisonous, the bitterest, is from the far left.”

Following episodes of indefensible conduct — whether outright political violence or extreme rhetoric — Democrats often resort to the familiar, worn-out refrain that both sides are equally to blame. It’s deployed to dodge accountability for whatever wrongdoing just took place, even when the facts show asymmetry in actions, threats, or harm.

But the evidence indicates that the lion’s share of this behavior comes from one side of the political aisle — the Left.

A case in point: Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) fell outside his Braddock, Pennsylvania, home on Thursday, a mishap that landed him in the hospital. His spokesperson issued a statement that read in part: “Upon evaluation, it was established he had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up that led to Senator Fetterman feeling light-headed, falling to the ground and hitting his face with minor injuries.”

Online reaction to this incident proved once again that the vast majority of vitriol comes from the Democrats. Republicans responded with well wishes and prayers. Democrats, on the other hand, took to the social media site Bluesky to unleash an avalanche of hatred.

One X user, @SteveGuest, put together some of the more extreme reactions from the Left.

In one post, a man attached the headline from a news story about Fetterman’s fall with the caption, “Damn I hope the pavement is okay.”

Attaching a headline from The Hill titled, Fetterman suffers injuries to face from fall, a man asked, “How the f*** could anyone tell?”

Another user attached The Hill’s headline and added, “Tragically, he’s expected to live.”

Insinuating the senator deserved to fall because he broke with his party on key issues, most recently on the government shutdown, a user wrote, “Karma is a bitch isn’t it, eh Fetterman? … Looks like he’s not getting enough oxygen to his brain. I could have told you that….”

Following on that same theme, another wrote, “Fetterman is hospitalized from a fall. He is in A Fib. Karma is a bitch.”

One woman advised him to retire: “Fetterman needs to quit his job and focus on his health.” Funny, no one suggested that after the massive stroke that left him barely able to speak during his 2022 Senate campaign.

Fetterman spoke to CNN’s Dana Bash the day before his fall. She began the segment by highlighting a passage from his book, Unfettered, which read, “I’ve drunk deeply of the venom of both the left and the right. And as a connoisseur, I can confirm that the most poisonous, the bitterest, is from the far left.”

She asked him why, as an elected Democrat, he would say that.

Fetterman replied that Republicans have called him names, some of which he cannot repeat on national TV.

But Democrats, particularly on Bluesky, were sending him death threats or wishing another stroke on him for voting to open up the government. One user was sorry his depression “didn’t win.” Another sent him a GIF of a man having a stroke.

“I don’t know where that comes from. That’s much different than calling me a name,” Fetterman said.

At this point, I think we can dispense with the “both sides” argument.

Fetterman woke up and found:

1. He is rejected by his own people
2. Even more, his own people hate him
3. However, the other people support him
4. The other people are looking better every day

TDS turned liberals into sociopaths.

Once leftists are done with you, they cast you aside like used toilet paper.

Remember Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink?

Code Pink is still going strong unfortunately

The Hate Has No Home Here crowd are hating a lot of people lately.

Stroke recovery can take lifetime. He might never be his old self. Walk with cane?

Leave the reservation and it’s bile and venom if not outright death threats. The left has no time for anyone that deviates is the slightest way from their orthodoxy.

Fetterman took his fall in good grace quipping “If you thought my face looked bad before you should see it now”!
