Loyola U. New Orleans Student Brags About Getting School to Reject TPUSA Chapter

“We showed up to the student Senate meeting with over 100 students… and they were denied their charter, which was a huge win for us”

This makes it clear that leftist students are actively trying to do this. They do not want TPUSA to expand its reach.

The College Fix reports:

Student brags about getting Loyola U. New Orleans to reject TPUSA chapter

A Democratic student leader at Loyola University New Orleans bragged over the weekend about the impact of her advocacy when the student government denied an “official university organization” charter for Turning Point USA.

Juleea Berthelot, a student and vice president of National Students for a Democratic Society, made the remark during a panel discussion at a National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression conference, which took place over the weekend in Chicago.

“TPUSA chapter is trying to get chartered on our campus, and we said hell no,” Berthelot said, according to a video of her remarks, posted on X by Manhattan Institute investigative analyst Stu Smith.

“We showed up to the student Senate meeting with over 100 students… and they were denied their charter, which was a huge win for us,” Berthelot said.

In late October, the Jesuit university’s student government voted to reject the conservative student group’s request. As a result, the group will not be able to “access university fund[s] or reserv[e] campus spaces for events,” The Maroon student newspaper reported at the time.

Students from the campus Students from Democratic Society attended the meeting, with student Rosalina Framboise saying that TPUSA stands in “direct opposition” to the school’s Jesuit values such as “care for the whole person and special care for the poor and oppressed,” The College Fix reported previously.

The late TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk’s past remarks about transgenderism and “gender fluidity” also create a “hostile educational environment,” Framboise said.

During the weekend conference, Berthelot linked her activism against the TPUSA chapter to larger anti-Trump efforts.

“We’re fighting back against the expansion of the Trump agenda and his goons’ control on college campuses, and that looks like fighting back, making sure that TPUSA chapters do not get established on our campuses,” Berthelot said.

Yep. Transgenderism and gender fluidity are definite Jesuit values. Just ask them. Straight out of the bible.

Well, it seems that my alma mater has not changed much during the 50 years since I graduated. The pseudo intellectuals nominally in charge there are still unable to manage the moral imbecility of a relatively small number of agitators who act out by exploiting the apathy of others. But money talks loudly there, so this will be resolved as soon as it becomes apparent that allowing such shenanigans will cost them dearly.

Jesuits tell other Catholics that they are the free thinkers of the church.

Looks like this was only a temporary setback for TPUSA. As of two days ago, Fox reported the Loyola student court vacated the student goverment’s barring decision.
