Gunmen Abduct Children, Staff From Catholic School in Nigeria
That makes FOUR kidnappings of Christian this week alone in Nigeria.
My betters told me Christians are fine in Nigeria, and President Donald Trump is full of it.
We have another kidnapping, folks. That makes FOUR this week.
Early Friday morning, gunmen abducted 52 children, ages 12-17, from St. Mary’s School, a boarding school in Niger state in western Nigeria. They also took staff members:
The attack and abductions took place at St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in Agwara local government’s Papiri community, said Abubakar Usman, the secretary to the Niger state government. He did not disclose the number of students and staff abducted, nor who might be responsible for the attack.
Local media broadcaster Arise TV said 52 schoolchildren were abducted.
However, the number could reach 100.
Gunmen kidnapped over 20 girls from a school in northwestern Nigeria on Monday.
The Niger State Government said it issued a “security intelligence warning of heightened threats in parts of Niger North Senatorial District” due to Monday’s kidnapping.
Officials ordered boarding schools to close.
“Regrettably, St. Mary’s School proceeded to reopen and resume academic activities without notifying or seeking clearance from the State Government, thereby exposing pupils and the staff to avoidable risk,” the government said.
On Wednesday, terrorists attacked the Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State, killing two people.
They abducted 38 people and demanded $69,000 in ransom for each person.
That’s three mass kidnappings this week alone.
Notice how I wrote mass. That’s because terrorists also kidnapped a priest this week.
They snatched Father Bobbo Paschal on November 17. The Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna, the location of Monday’s kidnapping, refuted claims that Paschal died:
Fr. Paschal was abducted in the early hours of November 17 from his residence when gunmen attacked St. Stephen Parish of Kaduna Catholic Archdiocese.
In a statement issued November 17, Fr. Okewu said that “during the attack, numerous people were kidnapped, and Fr. Anthony Yero’s brother was killed.”
Nigeria has sought to make kidnappings unappealing by banning ransom payments.
A person can receive at least 15 years in prison if they pay a ransom. You can get the death penalty if the victim dies.

Why not just make it illegal to allow yourself to be kidnapped?
