Fort Lewis College Students Cheer as Student Senate Rejects Creation of TPUSA Chapter

“In light of the opinions and concerns shared with us today on both sides of the discussion, … we have decided to deny Turning Point USA’s request to become an RSO1 at this time”

This is going to backfire. The more the left tries to suppress this movement, the more it will flourish.

The College Fix reports:

Students cheer after Colorado college rejects TPUSA chapter

Students erupted in cheers after the Fort Lewis College senate voted this week to reject a request to recognize a new Turning Point USA chapter as an official student organization, according to a video of the meeting.

“Disappointing day for our college. They value ‘diversity’, but not diversity of thought. This will not stand,” the Fort Lewis TPUSA chapter wrote Thursday on X.

Senate President Asa Worthington announced the vote during the Associated Students of Fort Lewis College’s weekly meeting, describing it as a “difficult decision,” according to a video of the meeting, posted by Libs of TikTok. Fort Lewis is a public college in Colorado.

“In light of the opinions and concerns shared with us today on both sides of the discussion, … we have decided to deny Turning Point USA’s request to become an RSO1 at this time,” Worthington said.

The announcement resulted in cheers from a number of students in attendance.

However, Worthington said the student government “may reconsider” its decision in the future.

He also mentioned that, as a public institution, the student government is required to consider “viewpoint neutrality” in such matters, setting “aside our own viewpoints” and basing “decisions on outlined policy, values, and feedback of the student body of that of which we serve.”

What the left are more than anything are cowards. They’re afraid of anything outside their bubble. God forbid someone holds a different view.

As I recall, the last time this happened (different college), the college administration simply overruled the student “government.”

Fort Lewis College has a 93.2 acceptance rate. Before today I never even heard of the school. When we have a position open we won’t be hiring any of them.

1. There really shouldn’t be Student Government. If it is not appropriate to have a chapter of something the Dean of Students should reject it and it if it is appropriate one set of students desires does not overcome another set if the SCHOOL (place where people get the basis for their future careers) should be doing these things AT ALL.

2. Do you think the right wing clown show defending the very obviously guilty murderer of Charlie Kirk, the attempt to remove a lifetime of defending Jews by Charlie Kirk and create a conspiracy theory of Charlie Kirk being killed by the Jews, and the Tucker Carlson screaming at a conservative college student for asking him about his personal wealth while demonizing the wealthy (a very valid question both to AOC and to Tucker) do you think that may have something to do with why the right has lost the moment with Charlie Kirk’s death?

For a moment the country stood united and the people celebrating his death were losing their jobs for it.

Now…..now we lost it and it is thanks to people like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens and their enablers like Megan Kelly.

I hope that those jackasses don’t prejudice the trial to the point of a juror refusing to convict no matter what.
