Barrington High School in RI Launches TPUSA Chapter After Teacher Mocked Charlie Kirk’s Death

“to promote conservative values and free expression”

As we have pointed out a few times now, there has been an explosion of interest in Turning Point USA at American schools following the assassination of the group’s founder, Charlie Kirk.

In Barrington, Rhode Island – the place where Legal Insurrection was born – students at the high school decided to launch a chapter after a teacher mocked Kirk’s death, and good for them.

WPRI News reports:

Barrington High School students launch Turning Point USA chapter

Some students at Barrington High School are starting a Turning Point USA chapter to promote conservative values and free expression.

The chapter’s vice president, Brayden Ryan, told Fox News they were inspired to start the group after a teacher at the school mocked conservative activist Charlie Kirk on social media following his death.

The teacher, who the district has not identified, was placed on administrative leave in September, after reportedly expressing no sympathy for Kirk, who was shot and killed while visiting Utah Valley University.

The school district told Fox News the group is going through the process to become official, as outlined in its student activities protocol.

There are currently more than 1,000 high school chapters and more than 800 college chapters across the country.

The Barrington School Committee has since hired attorney Matthew Oliverio to look into the teacher’s social media activity.

The students who are forming the club recently appeared on FOX & Friends. Watch below:

After what recently happened at UC-Berkeley, with a leftist mob harassing people who were simply trying to attend a TPUSA event, the Trump administration is putting schools on notice.

The Hill reports:

DOJ investigation into Berkeley’s Turning Point protest sends warning to other colleges

The Trump administration, long critical of the way colleges handle campus protests, is sending a clear warning after multiple arrests were made outside of a Turning Point USA event this week.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) swiftly announced an investigation after anti-fascist demonstrators gathered at the University of California, Berkeley, against the last Turning Point stop of its college tour, which had begun with the event where the group’s founder, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated.

The administration has repeatedly cut or frozen the federal funding of schools that it feels have failed to keep the peace, and the first major protest of the academic year offered it a clear contrast: a university long seen as one of the most liberal in the country, and an advocacy group the president backs wholeheartedly.

At least three people were arrested during the protests, with fights breaking out and demonstrators chanting “No Trump, No KKK, no fascist USA” and “F— your dead homie,” referencing Kirk, local outlet Berkeleyside reported.

In the interests of privacy and safety, the teacher’s name has not been disclosed. However, the MINOR student’s name is plastered all over the news like collision lawyer billboards on an interstate.
MSM shitlibs always protect their own.

Not the same thing. The kids volunteered to go on TV and talk about what they’re doing, and they welcome the publicity. The teacher, whose name is Ben Fillo (if you listen to the video, the kid with messy hair says his name) hasn’t put himself forward since he was suspended (and removed from the school web site’s directory). His name isn’t a secret, but the school has asked that it not be used at public events. Some people are complying with that request, some aren’t.

From WPRI: “ Some students at Barrington High School are starting a Turning Point USA chapter…”

Had this been a transgender awareness group, WPRI would have dropped the “Some”.

Education is full of leftist cowards. Glad to see students stepping up. Brave kids speak loudly of a decent future.
