The Campus Left is Lashing Out to Resist the Explosion of Interest in Turning Point USA
“You’re doing the Kirk bulls—. Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason.”
Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, there has been a massive increase in interest in Turning Point USA on college campuses. The left, which has controlled the culture on college campuses for decades without a serious challenge, is not responding well to this development.
The left does not want to give up an inch, so this is quickly becoming a battle for control. Some students who are trying to launch or revive Turning Point USA chapters are being stalled by the bureaucracy. In other cases, these students are facing harassment and threats.
We just covered one threatening incident at the University of Arizona, but there are other examples.
FOX News reports on developments at Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio:
Student at Ohio university says peers tearing down flyers, sending hate over new Turning Point USA chapter
A determined student at Baldwin Wallace University in a suburb of Cleveland says she is facing resistance from classmates as she starts a Turning Point USA chapter on campus.
“We never really got the momentum that we needed and the support that we needed, but this year after, you know, Charlie Kirk’s assassination, it’s such an unfortunate circumstance that it gave us the push that we needed to get this up and going on campus,” Grace Pruchnicki, a senior, told Fox News Digital.
Pruchnicki said she will serve as president of the new chapter, which is not yet officially recognized by the university. She said she’s working with student services to complete the approval process…
“We have people that tear down our posters every single day. We have people that have filled out a general interest form so that we can have a list of people to contact when we start having meetings. And we’ve had a lot of hate speech in those forms that people have filled out,” she said.
FOX News also highlighted an incident at the University of New Mexico:
Man on New Mexico campus arrested after allegedly taking Turning Point signs, says Kirk shot ‘for a reason’
Police at the University of New Mexico (UNM) arrested a man who allegedly tried to steal Turning Point USA signs during a campus tabling event and said that “Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason,” referring to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
A post Thursday from Frontlines TPUSA, the official “on-the-ground national coverage” account for Turning Point USA, shared a video of the incident on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “WATCH: ‘Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason.’ University of New Mexico police arrested a student who attempted to steal signs from a Turning Point USA student tabling event. The student resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody.”
In the video of the incident, a masked man argues with people at the Turning Point USA table, objecting to their buttons about criticizing socialism. At one point, when invited to debate his views, the man said, “You’re doing the Kirk bulls—. Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason.”
“Whoa,” a woman replied. “That’s not cool at all. Charlie was a father and a husband.”
“So are a lot of socialists,” he replied.
Again, this is all about control. The left rules campus culture, and they don’t want to give up any of that power.
Democrats and people in liberal media will continue to push falsehoods about Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA, so that their supporters on the ground will keep up the attacks. This battle is just getting started.

What these lefty students, of all labels, refuse to acknowledge is that being so controlled by a mindset and used by people who don’t want to do the dirty work, they have been cheated fully in their education.
What a bunch of cowardly bastards. Video everything and then use their rules and mechanisms against them to cancel them. The admins won’t play nice then repeat and rinse with them. File lawsuits against the schools with the feds. Tie them up defending their unwillingness to play by their own rules.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. The Left and their sympathizers only understand one form of discourse, vexatious litigation or violence if that doesn’t work.
Start with litigation against them, make them pay and if that doesn’t work……..
Perhaps we should further complicate the construct by elevating these qualifications to a central place, initially defining the individual, for sociological purposes, as a stance-taking entity, a something that takes up a position somewhere between identification with an organization and opposition to it, and is ready at the slightest pressure to regain its balance by shifting its involvement to either direction. It is thus _against something_ that the self can emerge. This has been appreciated by students of totalitarianism …

Anyway you get nowhere without a defined enemy.
“initially defining the individual, for sociological purposes, as a stance-taking entity, a something that takes up a position somewhere between identification with an organization and opposition to it”
“Something did something?”
This is the sort of leftist word psychobabble that should always be punctuated by a boop in the snoot.
Refutation or example?
That UNM arrest is amazing. Do you know what else is amazing? Not a single New Mexico news source is covering that story.
“Whoa,” a woman replied. “That’s not cool at all. Charlie was a father and a husband.”
“So are a lot of socialists,” he replied.
But conservative free market/thinkers aren’t trying to shoot them for their beliefs, are they?
Stationary engineers at these universities control the boilers. Perhaps those that control the infrastructure should valve off the steam building heat and let these smart asses figure out how to operate the boilers.
I disagree that it’s about control. I think it’s lack of control. The left exists to hate and has close to zero emotional regulation. What they feel, they do. That’s all.
