Early last week, local reports swirled about Charlotte, North Carolina, being next on the list for an extensive federal immigration enforcement operation.

Fresh off of Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago, the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) units arrived in Charlotte this past Saturday for the “Charlotte’s Web” operation, and it didn’t take long before things got underway:

On day one, there were 81 arrests, and that number rose to 200 through Tuesday:

On Monday, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson told ABC News that those arrested in Charlotte over the weekend by CBP and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) allegedly “have all broken the immigration laws of our country.”

“Criminal records of those arrested include known gang membership, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, felony larceny, simple assault, hit and run, possession of stolen goods, shoplifting, DUI, DWI, and illegal re-entry after prior deportation, a felony,” a DHS spokesperson said. “We will not stop enforcing the laws of our nation until every criminal illegal alien is arrested and removed from our country.”

Not surprisingly, agitators are busy doing their thing in stirring the pot, with some going so far as allegedly trying to forcibly impede CBP operations by using their vehicles as weapons.

In one such incident on Sunday in the University area of Charlotte, here’s what DHS says went down:

This afternoon in Charlotte near University City, a United States citizen weaponized his vehicle, driving a large van at law enforcement while they were conducting an operation. He immediately fled the scene, starting a dangerous high-speed chase through a densely populated area. During the chase, he attempted to ram into law enforcement vehicles— posing a serious public safety threat. As agents were boxing him in— the driver proceeded to ram law enforcement vehicles in an attempt to escape. When the driver was arrested, a firearms was found in the vehicle.

One law enforcement officer was injured.

The perpetrator has prior arrests for resisting law enforcement, public disturbance and intoxication/ disruptive conduct.

Moments later, the suspect was caught just up the road, across from UNC-Charlotte:

24-year-old Miguel Angel Garcia Martinez was the person taken into custody – and he now faces felony charges.

A similar incident happened on Monday, also in the University area, and involved another agitator who allegedly tried to box in and ram immigration enforcement vehicles at a gas station and then led them on a brief high-speed chase before being cornered in a cul-de-sac and arrested:

At the end of a cul-de-sac on 7736 Newell View Ln., just eight minutes away from campus, was an individual handcuffed and sitting upright against their car, surrounded by six large SUV vehicles and roughly two dozen officers.

[…]

“This individual assaulted a federal officer at a gas station about a mile away, and then engaged officers in a high-speed pursuit, failed to yield to lights and sirens. [They] traveled down this cul-de-sac, came to a stop, and then was arrested,” [top CBP commander Gregory] Bovino said at the site of the arrest.

I was actually traveling down Rocky River Road West on Monday, running errands, and caught the tail end of the blockade that was set up at the turn-in point to Newell View Lane. There was a heavy presence of enforcement agents along with anti-ICE trackers who were filming what they could.

Ali Bradley, a correspondent for NewsNation, shared what she witnessed:

#BREAKING We witnessed @CMDROpAtLargeCA and his team being assaulted in Charlotte while at a gas station getting snacks and using the bathroom.

A self-proclaimed anti-ICE activist hopped a curb, barreled into the parking lot and drove aggressively at agents. Agents gave the individual a warning—They then tried to box agents in to prevent them from leaving. Agents issued another warning. The individual then backed up into a government vehicle, then took off leading agents on a high-speed pursuit for about a mile.

The individual who is reportedly a U.S. citizen was arrested for assault on a federal agent but denied any wrongdoing.

I’m very familiar with this part of Charlotte, and I should note that in both instances, the roads that both of these suspects would have had to travel down are busy, heavily traveled residential and business parts of the community. The route that the Monday suspect likely took would have taken them past multiple neighborhoods and past an elementary school around lunchtime, when kids are sometimes playing on the fenced-in playground, which is at the front of the school and right next to the street.

Tire slashings have taken place as well:

There was also this:

The operation has since expanded to include North Carolina’s capital city, Raleigh, and other nearby areas. It is believed that the “Charlotte’s Web” mission will wrap up on Friday, with the next operation set to take place in New Orleans.

Shoot the perps weaponizing cars. When enough are shot it will stop. These “agitators” believe they are free to do what they want because there are no consequences or they are minor. The need to be dissuaded of that.

Has ICE received a big Thank You from NC’s Dem Gov yet?

Gotta love the names of these operations.
Midway Blitz for Chicago
Charlotte’s Webb for Charlotte

I want to see what they do for other cities:
Steel Curtain for Pittsburgh?
Rotten Apple for NYC?

‘Agitators’, the new way to spell Democrat street operatives.

Start using buses as phase 2 of an operation. Stage them and/or have them circling a short distance away from target area. When/if a mob shows up and refuses to comply with commands to move away, bring in the buses which should be carrying additional personnel, drop the personnel who surround the mob, deploy enough force to gain compliance and submission of the mob to arrest. Fill up the buses with the mob for transport to a Federal holding facility. Refusing to allow the mob to gather, raise hell, impede (if any LEO assets are diverted from original op due to mob presence that’s impending at least until a Jury decides to say it isn’t) then walk away to repeat their actions tomorrow raises the stakes. I suspect even a brief detention and fingerprint/booking/warrant search/ID will turn up any number of things in these folks background. Even if it is no more than someone milking a ‘disability’ claim, if they decide they are healthy enough to scuffle in a physical confrontation with LEO then maybe they need a review and/or cancellation of their disability status. Wonder if Federal ‘welfare’ guidelines preclude mob violence as condition and if not lets add that in.

I agree only to the extent that you charge those people with felonies which makes them no longer capable of voting. Let’s have some real consequences

During the course of their arrest the knucklehead members of the mob will have opportunities for felony charges. Heck they might be dumb enough to show up to fight Federal LEO with drugs in the pocket so book them on Federal Weed charges or maybe they’ll get ’20 long years for some Dust in a Baggy’.

Arrest, prosecute, incarcerate and or deport.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

I voted for this, as did 10s of millions.

Put away the rubber bullets, start using lead. Enough with these freaking traitors

As a resident in the area, I encourage a no tolerance policy. The leadership here deserves no benefit of the doubt either.

Charlotte has long provided vagrants $50 and a one-way ticket to Columbia, SC. Latinos are thick in CLT thanks to a growing population.

Putting on your math hat, there’s a bell curve on crime whereby a few criminals raise the top of curve significantly.

You know damn well THOSE criminals are getting caught up in these raids. The fact that gang members are the most likely impacted that this is having a huge positive effect on the safety of our communities.

These agitators are playing with fire. God forbid, if a federal agent is killed that will give Trump all the justification he needs to take off the gloves–district judges be damned.

Why not just sanction China for funding these groups? Simple, easy, effective.

The city also experienced from 20-30,000 absences in its school system when a whiff of this operation got out.

Good.

There are quite a number of places ICE can go in NC east of I95 and not just west of it. Chicken farms, pig slaughtering houses, sweet potato shed etc. Someone I know estimates 50% of their distribution center employees are illegals with a large percentage unable to speak English. I do know that I was able to walk around the local Lowes without a problem as it was uncrowded by the illegal alien contractors.

In conjunction with the ICE raids in Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham there was a truck inspection location set up on I85 north of Durham a la Oklahoma. No word yet of how many were pulled out of their trucks but considering the traffic I bet there was a few.

[remove plastic nativity scene, put up Operation Swamp Sweep decorations]

200 really isn’t that many for a city as large as Charlotte. This is all theater.

So when will POTUS declare the “San Francisco based Party for Socialism & Liberation, a Communist Chinese funded organization” as an enemy combatant and arrest anyone who interferes by trying to prevent a peace officer from performing his assignment? Seems like another way to influence China to stay out of our business.
