Would-Be Kavanaugh Assassin Gets Lenient Sentence After Pleading Trans

Would-Be Kavanaugh Assassin Gets Lenient Sentence After Pleading Trans

Nicholas Roske – now going by Sophie – gets only 8 year sentence. DOJ is appealing the sentence.

I wish the headline to this post was a joke, but it’s not.

On June 8, 2022, in the wake of the leak of a draft of the Supreme Court Dobbs (abortion) decision, and in the midst of a frenzy of protests at the homes of conservative Supreme Court Justices and calls for violence, Nicholas John Roske was arrested outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home with a loaded gun. We covered it at the time:

The only reason Roske didn’t attempt to enter the house with his weapon was that there were federal marshals outside. So instead, he turned himself in.

His hope, according to prosecutors, was to kill three Justices:

The California man who pleaded guilty to attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022 aimed to kill three members of the high court in an effort to “single-handedly alter the constitutional order for ideological ends,” according to federal prosecutors.

The revelation by the Justice Department came in a sentencing memorandum filed Friday with the U.S. district court in Maryland in the case of Nicholas Roske. Roske was arrested near Kavanaugh’s home in early June 2022 with a handgun, ammunition, knife and a myriad of tools.

He pleaded guilty in April to attempting to kill or kidnap a Supreme Court justice. Prosecutors are asking a judge to sentence Roske to at least 30 years to life in prison, arguing that his conduct is an affront to the Constitution and required “extensive premeditation.”

It’s hard to think of a more serious crime than to attempt to kill as Supreme Court Justice. Perhaps assassinating a president is more serious, but they are equally egregious in their own ways in my mind.

Fast forward, Roske pleaded guilty and was sentence today. So the judge threw the book at him, right? Right? Buhler?

He only got 8 years.

Why so lenient a sentence? The Judge was smitten with Roske having declared himself to be a woman and thereby needing special understanding, as related by Daily Wire reporter Luke Rosiak who was inside the courtroom.

The sentencing took more than seven hours, with much of the time dedicated to discussing how Roske’s transgender identity meant he should get a lighter sentence.

In a more than hour-long speech justifying the light sentence, Boardman said “Ms. Roske came out to herself as transgender in 2020 but kept it secret. Ms. Roske’s sister came out as gay two years prior but Ms. Roske saw that their parents struggled to reconcile her sexuality with their religious beliefs.”

“I am heartened that this terrible infraction has helped the Roske family… accept their daughter for who she is,” Judge Boardman said.

His mother Colleen told the judge on Friday that “I have attended PFLAG meetings and learned about the LGBTQ+ community. I am committed to going on this journey with Sophie… She was frustrated with what was going on in the world, and we weren’t a safe place to process it.” As his mother wept, Nicholas Roske also choked up, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.

Boardman said “Any prison time is punishment for her. The length doesn’t need to be particularly long… unduly harsh conditions make a difference, too.” The judge continued, “She will be imprisoned in a male facility even though she is a transgender prisoner, pursuant to an executive order from the president. Before the executive order, that wasn’t the case.”

Roske and his mother, father, and sister all spoke in court, emotionally describing how hard it has been on the family. Kavanaugh’s relatives did not address the court, but left the courtroom abruptly after the judge issued the light sentence.

Earlier in the hearing, Boardman lashed out at prosecutors and President Donald Trump, saying “Let’s not hide the fact that President Trump issued an executive order saying transgender inmates would be assigned to prisons with their biological sex.” The prosecutor replied that there was an injunction holding up much of the enforcement of that executive order, and the judge later state that Roske could, in fact, get hormone replacement in prison, at least while the injunction was in effect.

NBC News is reporting that a “woman” was sentenced in the case:

So when is “Judge” Boardman going to start dating the perp. He’s obviously smitten.

Can’t wait until the pretend lawyer with a soft spot for trannies weighs in!

One would think this could be overturned in a sane world

The despicable, anti-American idiot judge referred to the male assassin as “she” in the decision which should serve as grounds for impeachment.

Even 30 years for trying to assassinate a SCOTUS justice (he was actually planning on hitting 3) would be too soft.

Judges like this MUST be removed from the bench. This is not “good behavior” of any sort. And a judge who can’t tell the difference between males and females cannot interpret any law or rationally settle any disputes.

” a judge who can’t tell the difference between males and females cannot interpret any law or rationally settle any disputes.”

Exactly, If you insist upon calling a male a female, in a court of law, you are not fit to sit on the bench.

Who didn’t see this coming? Seems all some people have to do is claim to be a member of a protected group and they’re allowed to break the law with relative impunity.

Easier sentencing and probably end up in a womans prison molesting the inmates and the guards.

Milhouse in reply to ztakddot. | October 4, 2025 at 8:39 pm

Did you read the post? He can’t end up in a women’s prison. The judge acknowledged that he has to be sent to a men’s prison, and that there’s nothing he can do about it. That’s at least part of why he reduced the sentence.

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | October 4, 2025 at 10:27 pm

There is an injunction currently against Trump’s EO requiring him to serve time in a prison according to his biological sex so who knows where the time is served.

Let’s hope the real males housed with “her” will make “her” eight years feel like 30.

Nothing will ever happen to the people who leaked the Roe reversal decision, or the people who hypnotized Roske into thinking he was a woman, or the people who hypnotized him into thinking that the Roe reversal decision justified assassination.

They don’t care what happens to their pawns.

He is looking forward to fathering a child while doing his time.

He’s going to have a tough time doing that in a men’s prison. Though there are female guards, they have their pick of victims and don’t need to stoop as low as him.

Well, if the convict wants to be treated like a woman, I’m pretty sure that the other inmates will accommodate that.

Ya’ know, the electric chair doesn’t care about pronouns.

Judge was confirmed in June 2021 by a 52-48 vote with Collins and Graham joining all the dems. on the roll call vote.

Leniency for being trans is obviously ridiculous and possibly unconstitutional. Among other things, the judge’s decision implies that it would be OK yo give him a harsher sentence if BoP had great mental health services for him.

On the other hand, this guy voluntarily turned himself in when he saw US Marshalls outside Kavanaugh’s house. I am not sure this even really qualifies as attempted murder – he did not make the attempt.

Seems to me he is more a sad mentally ill person who considered murder and then turned himself in. As such, he should be in a locked psychiatric ward, not a prison.

Why difference does it make if the criminal is gay or straight? How is that any legal defense? Countless other gay males didn’t try to murder Kavanaugh.

Flip the script. If the would be assassin was straight, and the target judge was left of center, would the sentence have been that lenient?

CommoChief in reply to smooth. | October 4, 2025 at 7:31 am

Exactly. The logical progression of the Judge’s reasoning of a lighter sentence for a ‘trans’ person is that had he remained a ‘straight white male’ with no ‘tranny’ claims he could be/would be sentenced more harshly.

LibraryGryffon in reply to CommoChief. | October 4, 2025 at 11:57 am

This sentencing decision would seem to be a legal admission that trans is a mental illness.

CommoChief in reply to LibraryGryffon. | October 4, 2025 at 1:33 pm

If only… In reality the Judge is projecting hypothetical future harm/risk to a ‘tranny’ in a male prison. She’s particularly concerned that the Trump WH has ended the prior policy putting male ‘tranny’ into women’s prisons at Federal level.

Milhouse in reply to CommoChief. | October 4, 2025 at 8:42 pm

Exactly. The judge thinks “she” is going to have a hard time in a men’s prison, so “she” deserves to do less time there than “she” would in a women’s prison.

nebel in reply to CommoChief. | October 5, 2025 at 2:29 am

Milhouse… Most men would prefer to be sent to a women’s prison. Sending them to a men’s prison doesn’t mean their sentences should get reduced 70% compared to the guideline as was the case for this terrorist.

Another day, another homicidal trans lunatic among us.

We REALLY need to reopen the mental hospitals.

“I am committed to going on this journey with Sophie… She was frustrated with what was going on in the world, and we weren’t a safe place to process it.”

So that means it’s ok to assassinate Supreme Court justices? How is this statement any less outrageous than the mindset of the man (not indulging his psychosis, sorry-not-sorry) convicted of the crime?

We can throw people in prison for the crimes they commit but what do you do with the evil that lurks within them?

E Howard Hunt | October 4, 2025 at 8:53 am

The perp’s parents are on a journey to reconcile their children’s perversions with their religious beliefs. That road takes the form of joining the LGBT…….. movement and adopting all of its views. This cultural mindset is more dangerous than the sentencing scandal. The perp should spend no time in jail, but be locked up in an insane asylum for life. The parents should be pondering nature vs nurture, original sin, God’s mysterious plan, etc., not caving in to a perverted make-it-up-as-you-go ideology.

I believe the prosecution was asking for 30 years. I propose that the defendant be given a choice. A sentence of 30 years is imposed unless the defendant has his male parts surgically removed. Preferably without anesthesia.

“I am heartened that this terrible infraction has helped the Roske family… accept their daughter for who she is,” Judge Boardman said.

WHAT ????

nordic prince | October 4, 2025 at 10:27 am

Impeach the idiot judge. That moron should not anywhere near a position of making life and death decisions.

nordic prince | October 4, 2025 at 10:29 am

Declaring “trans” is the new “get out of jail free” card, essentially.

Too many people here are falling into the same trap the judge did.

The issue is not whether the criminal is male, female, trans, or whatever.

The issue is whether the criminal had the wherewithal to know their actions were wrong. If so, that makes them competent.

It doesn’t matter what gender, sex, delusion or whatever the criminal believes.

All that matters is whether they knew right from wrong (and clearly they did) and did they do the act (and again, clearly they did.)

Going down any other path is not justice.

If true,

“Judge Boardman, a Biden appointee, is referring to the defendant as Ms. Roske and asking whether “she” will be placed in a women’s prison and given hormone replacement. The implication is that if not, she will be given a shorter sentence.”,

then Judge Boardman is discriminating based on the defendant’s sex. Roske is clearly a disturbed individual but not so disturbed that he did not understand that his actions and planned actions against Justice Kavanaugh were wrong. There seems to be little discussion about remorse.

Other reports compare this eight-year sentence to the sentences of about 50 of those convicted for Jan 6, 2021 riot. This guy got less than them. Members of the Proud Boys (one who wasn’t even in DC on Jan 6, 2021) got between 15 and 20 years.
So attempting to murder SCOTUS Justices is nowhere near as bad as an unarmed “insurrection.” Got it.
I hope the AG/DoJ is successful in appealing the sentence.

Prison has been known to bring out the best from inmates. It can be a cultured community!

Bless Tookie and his admirers. La-la-La-la life goes on.

So, not Nick but Sophie, once man now woman, will likely get knocked up by her cell mate, and ironically under Dobbs, with no abortion to get, will have to get that judge to order and do a shotgun wedding so the turd baby won’t be a bastard. The End.

“Judge” Boardman?
No, flaming idiot Boardman.
