Three people are facing charges after allegedly stealing more than $700,000 from Manor College in Jenkintown.
On Friday, college administrators announced that former Vice President of Finance Arion “Jonathan” Singh, 41, of Huntingdon Valley, used school credit cards for unauthorized personal expenses. According to investigators, those expenses included rent for a New York City apartment, a country club membership, and luxury dining.
The investigation began in March when college officials contacted Montgomery County detectives about suspicious activity involving the school’s bank accounts and credit cards.
Detectives say Singh used more than $451,000 in college funds. His romantic partner, Sydney Loveless, 39, of Chicago, is accused of submitting false invoices totaling more than $215,000. Authorities say Singh and Loveless conspired with Amar Persad, 46, of Cheltenham, to launder the stolen money.
