Supposed ‘Independent’ Nebraska Senate Candidate is Bankrolled by National Democrats

Supposed ‘Independent’ Nebraska Senate Candidate is Bankrolled by National Democrats

The left told us they were going to do this back in March.

Dan Osborn is a candidate for U.S. Senate in Nebraska who is running as an independent, yet his campaign is being funded by donations from prominent Democrats and donations on the left-wing fundraising portal Act Blue.

The liberal media is playing along, as expected. Almost all coverage of Osborn describes him as an independent.

FOX News reports:

National Dems bankroll campaign of ‘fake independent’ Senate candidate from Midwestern state

Labor Union leader Dan Osborn, a candidate for U.S. Senate in Nebraska, has campaigned on being an “Independent,” going as far as saying he has no plans to caucus with either major party if elected, but his recent FEC filings paint a different picture.

Osborn has not only been endorsed by leaders of the Nebraska Democratic Party and mobilized fundraising on ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s main fundraising platform. He has also accepted donations from several prominent Washington Democrats and Democrat political action committees.

Among the donors to his campaign are the campaign of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and the PACs of former Democrat senators Bob Kerrey and Jon Tester. Democracy Summer, a leadership PAC founded by Maryland Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin, also donated $2,000.

The latest FEC filings, released last week, also show Osborn continues to accept fundraising support from The People United, a left-wing super PAC that has supported Democrat ‘Squad’ members like Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Summer Lee and Ilhan Omar.

“As an independent, I’ll be uniquely positioned to bring together a majority to get it done,” Osborn’s “Where I Stand” webpage on his campaign website states in reference to securing the border from illegal immigration.

In this ABC News video, Jon Karl can barely contain his excitement about the possibility of Republicans losing a Senate seat in Nebraska.

Would the left really try to fool the American people by advancing a progressive candidate who claims to be an independent? Yes, they would. How do we know this? They told us.

As we reported back in March:

Bernie Sanders Now Urging Progressives to Run as Independents, Not Democrats

As the Democratic party grapples with its current identity crisis, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), are rallying the faithful members of the left at a series of rallies at various locations.

In what is a sign of the rift in the party, Sanders is talking up a new strategy which involves having progressive candidates run for office as independents, rather than Democrats.

This is deeply cynical and slimy.

It also demonstrates how desperate the left is to regain power.

They make sure these candidates look like manly conservative types

Patriotism and deception, the final act of a desperate scoundrel.

Osborn is a liar. He is no independent. Almost all labor union leaders are democrat, and all the independent senators caucus with the democrats.
It’s a given now that all democrats lie and their lies are protected by the media. They do this by reflex.

Fetterman may be the one current exception. Of course the democrats want to get rid of him.

Hardly a surprise. A Democrat masquerading as an “independent” (what is that anyway?) as the leftist brand becomes increasingly toxic.

Deception is part and parcel of Dem politics.

I’m an independent. No scare quotes. I am not loyal to a party. Does that explain things?

Actually, Democrats registering as independents is something they have practiced for decades. They’ve done it for hiring election judges, and if they’ll do it for that, they’ll do it for anything.

Not really. You have no observable benefit in disassociating yourself with either party. You aren’t seeking voter’s approval in a situation which virtually mandates avoiding association with a party which is “shunned” by the local voters (e.g. Democrat in NE, Republican in NYC). You are generally free to support neither party with no political “cost” to yourself.

I am a registered Independent. I neither give loyalty to democrats or Republicans. Each party’s candidates must try to convince me to vote for them.

We don’t register with a party here in Texas. When we had “Blue Dog” Democrats (i.e. Conservatives who were Democrats when Texas was essentially a one party state), I voted for Democrats (though not all). I have voted for Libertarians and primarily for Republicans. I will say that I’m very unlikely to vote for a Democrat given the party’s history over the last 5o years or so

I’m registered “independent,” although I’ve never voted for a Democrat, I’ve also not always voted Republican. Sometimes I haven’t voted at all (I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils – “Those who choose the lesser evil forget very quickly that they choose evil.” Hannah Arendt).

Bernie knows a thing or two about masquerading as an Independent.

This guy is NOT a stealth candidate, since he is not concealing his support very effectively.

So the GOP plan is pretty obvious: challenge him to stop using the Communist Party’s fundraising apparatus, raise his own independent money, and reject the Democrat Party’ official endorsement. If he is truly independent of both major political parties then he should quit using one party’s infrastructure. If he refuses, point out that means he is the Communist Party’s official candidate – he has their endorsement, after all – and he will caucus with them and do their bidding like “independent” Bernie Sanders. .

In the Senate, Independent is just another word for Democrat. In fact, the current Independents are actually further left than most Democrats these days.

I hope nobody is buying this.

raise your hands if you believe lefty when they pretend to act properly

they are from day one…evil

the dems agenda the lefts agenda has alwayssss been to gain power by any means necessary

it would take 20 more years of a fiscal conservative agenda to even come close to righting these wrongs

Looks like we have quite a few registered “Independents” here, myself included. However, when politicians use that word we know that they are lying because their lips are moving.
