New Video Shows Katie Porter Exploding on Staffer During Meeting
“Get out of my f*cking spot!”
Former Rep. Katie Price (D-CA), who is a frontrunner for California governor, has made news after she threw a fit during an interview with a local CBS News affiliate.
Porter threatened to walk out of the interview after the reporter, Julie Watts, kept asking follow-up questions about needing to pick up Republican voters.

Politico (yes, POLITICO) quickly unveiled a new video from Porter’s time as a representative showing her snapping at a staffer.

Video of the exchange, exclusively obtained by POLITICO Wednesday, shows an online conversation between Porter and then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in July 2021. Several minutes in, Porter’s staffer interjected to correct something the Democratic representative had said about electric vehicles. Porter then reprimanded her employee, who had also previously appeared periodically in the background during the recording.
“You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot,” Porter said.
The staffer, whom POLITICO is not identifying out of privacy concerns and who was not the source of the video, declined to comment.
A final, edited version of the webinar that was published by the Department of Energy did not include the exchange.
Porter also whined to Granholm that she had limited access to the White House:
In the video call, in which Porter touted the Biden administration’s ambitious climate agenda and promoted electric vehicles, the then-congresswoman also complained to Granholm that she had not visited the White House despite raising a “shit ton” of money for President Joe Biden.
“Never been there. Some of my colleagues (have been) three, four times,” Porter vented. “I don’t fit in the photo-op for some reason.”
Porter also sounded off about not being in touch with Biden officials.
“I’m like the least in-connection with the White House member of Congress,” Porter said.
Granholm, who declined to comment to POLITICO, is heard gently downplaying her concerns. “That is not true.”
As I mentioned earlier, Porter’s mistreatment of staff has been well-documented.
Sasha Georgiades, the staffer Porter demoted, said she probably would have been fired without the protection of the Wounded Warrior program.
Georgiades also opened the floodgates:
She has made multiple staffers cry and people are generally so anxious to even staff her because if ANYTHING goes wrong she flips out on whatever staffer is present,” Georgiades said. “She just talks to staffers however she wants.”
“At one point we had an office hike and she left her kids with the staffers in the back while she walked off with the chief of staff,” she continued. “There is no regard to us or feelings or even what we are going through. It is only about her and what she wants. I tried to pass on legislation for veterans and active duty members several times and was told no because she didn’t like who had written it.”
The former Porter staffer said the congresswoman’s office will “overburden the staffer with work so it either comes to a point that they can’t juggle it all or they are fired for not keeping up” and noted this “happened shortly after I got there with another staffer.”
“He was so upset and hurt,” Georgiades said, adding the staffer was a staff assistant in the office — the entry-level paid role for congressional offices.
Honestly, I’m not shocked Californians would choose Porter for their governor.

One of the interesting things Porter and Granholm get wrong in the exchange on maintenance is the costs.
Granholm states she saving $672 a year in maintenance. But EV battery packs start dying in the 5th year of use.
A replacement for the Volt is somewhere between $4000 – $8000.
That means at the 5th year, you have saved $3360 in maintenance only to be hit with a minimum $4000 bill for the battery replacement.
And these are the people who want to tell the rest of us how to spend our hard earned funds.
