Hegseth: Latest Strike on Venezuela Boat Kills Four Narco-Terrorists

“Our intelligence, without a doubt, confirmed that this vessel was trafficking narcotics, the people onboard were narco-terrorists, and they were operating on a known narco-trafficking transit route.”

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the military struck a boat off the coast of Venezuela.

Hegseth wrote on X:

Earlier this morning, on President Trump’s orders, I directed a lethal, kinetic strike on a narco-trafficking vessel affiliated with Designated Terrorist Organizations in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility. Four male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike, and no U.S. forces were harmed in the operation. The strike was conducted in international waters just off the coast of Venezuela while the vessel was transporting substantial amounts of narcotics – headed to America to poison our people.

Our intelligence, without a doubt, confirmed that this vessel was trafficking narcotics, the people onboard were narco-terrorists, and they were operating on a known narco-trafficking transit route. These strikes will continue until the attacks on the American people are over!!!!

I believe this is the fourth strike on Venezuelan boats:

The move comes a day after President Donald Trump told Congress that the country is in an “armed conflict” with drug cartels. From The Washington Examiner:

“The President directed these actions consistent with his responsibility to protect Americans and United States interests abroad and in furtherance of United States national security and foreign policy interests, pursuant to his constitutional authority as Commander in Chief and Chief Executive to conduct foreign relations,” it reads.

The memorandum to congressional committees did not name any specific cartels with which the U.S. is in conflict.

“The United States has now reached a critical point where we must use force in self-defense and defense of others against the ongoing attacks by these designated terrorist organizations,” it reads.

looked more like a missile strike–explosive/immediate

Since there are destroyers in that area and the camera is fairly stead and immobile I’m guessing a missile strike from a copter. Of course it could be a missile strike from a drone.

Isn’t there a wasp class ship in the area. If so that opens up the range of possibilities.

Waiting for some Lefty judge to declare the resulting explosion caused a violation of EPA regulations…

Oooh that one’s easy…have them declared insane for trying to assert his limited judicial authority to unilaterally impose EPA regs outside the USA. Put them in a comfortable room with a thorazine drip. Lobotomy only to be used as a last resort if they keep hooting and hollering.

How long before Venezuela set’s up a few poor patsies in a boat, loads a few pallets of food stuffs in there (for the ride) and makes it look like bundles of coke, and sends them on their way to get blown up? Then they can martyr them and you know the US press corpse will pile on. I hope they’ve got air-tight intelligence on these ops…

We imposed nighttime curfew in Ramadi by killing anyone out after dark. We killed all sorts of folks in the GWOT; men women, the old, the young …even killed those with mental retardation. Anyone and everyone who violated the ‘bubble’ around a convoy, a static location or a TCP …come too close or if a vehicle refuse to pull off and stop they got taken under fire with crew served weapons until they complied or were no longer a viable threat.

Understood. I’m just saying we need to have our eyes open with respect to what we’re walking into with these actions.

I don’t disagree that many media outlets and their lefty wokiesta activist allies will seek to exploit a situation as you.describe. My point is that the answer to such is …tough cookies. Don’t wanna risk getting blown up? Easy …don’t depart from X and don’t follow Y route. Heck we’re being even more selective at this point with additional Intel confirmation before a strike.

If I were running this op then where a vessel is departing X, following Y route then the presumption should be it is a valid target without further inquiry and it would be destroyed. That’s how we stop the use of those ports and routes. Up the costs above what the narcoterrorist orgs can afford to pay.

They need to recruit fat little Greta by telling her the next boat is taking much needed drugs to Gaza.

As wistful Venezuelan mothers say. “Raising boys is hard. They blow up so fast.”
