‘Wink, Wink’: Kirk Murderer’s Bragging Texts, ABC Gushed

‘Wink, Wink’: Kirk Murderer’s Bragging Texts, ABC Gushed

“I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”

Utah County District Attorney Jeff Gray released a disturbing transcript Tuesday of text messages between accused assassin Tyler Robinson and his roommate. The messages, sent in the hours following the killing of Charlie Kirk, detail Robinson’s admission, his planning, and his attempts to cover up evidence, all in his own words.

Gray explained that Robinson’s roommate, who was in a romantic relationship with him, immediately turned the messages over to police. One of the first messages, sent September 10, 2025, told the roommate to “drop what you’re doing. Look under my keyboard.” Underneath was a handwritten note: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.”

Here is the full transcript from Townhall‘s video as read at the press conference by Gray:

Roommate: What you’re joking, right?
Robinson: I am still okay, my love, but I’m stuck in Orem for a little while longer. Yet shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest, I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.
Roommate: You weren’t the one who did it right?
Robinson: I am, I am, I’m sorry.
Roommate: I thought they caught the person.
Robinson: No, they grabbed some crazy old dude then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down.
Robinson: It’s quiet, almost enough to get out, but there’s one vehicle lingering.
Roommate: Why?
Robinson: Why did I do it?
Roommate: Yeah.
Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence.
Robinson: Going to attempt to retrieve it again. Hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.
Roommate: How long have you been planning this?
Robinson: A bit over a week. I believe I can get close to it, but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don’t want to chance it.
Robinson: I’m wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle. I’m worried what my old man would do if I didn’t bring back grandpa’s rifle, IDK, if it’s had a serial number, but it wouldn’t trace to me. I worry about prints. I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits. Didn’t have the ability or time to bring it with. I might have to abandon it and hope they don’t find prints.
Robinson: How the f will I explain losing it to my old man?
Robinson: Only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel. Remember how it was engraving bullets? The F in messages are mostly a big meme, if I see notice bulge. UWU, you on Fox News I might have a stroke. All right, I’m going to have to leave it that really often sucks. Judging from today, I’d say grandpa’s gun does just fine, idk. I think that was a tooth, a 2k dollar scope.
Robinson: Wink, wink.
Robinson: Delete this exchange again. My dad wants photos of the rifle. He says grandpa wants to know who has what. The Feds released a photo of the rifle, and it is very unique. He’s calling me RN, not answering. Since Trump got into office, my dad has been pretty die-hard MAGA.
Robinson: I’m going to turn myself in willingly. One of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff. Again, you are all I worry about love that came from Robinson.
Roommate: I’m much more worried about you.
Robinson: Don’t talk to the media. Please don’t take any interviews or make any comments. If any police ask you questions, ask for a lawyer and stay silent.

Police later confirmed finding a shell casing with etchings matching Robinson’s weapon during a search of his residence.

Adding to the grotesque nature of the story was how some in the media framed the killer’s words. On ABC, correspondent Matt Gutman had this disgusting thing to say:

Then wildly doubled down 10 minutes later:

As two users noted, this ABC reporter has already been in trouble for shoddy reporting before:

Despite ABC‘s claims, the messages leave no doubt: this was not just a spur-of-the-moment crime, but a cold, calculated political assassination. Robinson bragged about using his grandfather’s rifle, mocked the act with “wink, wink,” and worried more about explaining himself to his father than the life he had just taken. The fact that his lover and roommate was dragged into the mix makes the story even more twisted.

UPDATE: ABC’s Matt Gutman has released an apology after his bizarre story on the texts between Charlie’s murderer and his lover/roommate:

Like I said

they wont dont want debate

pray for peace

They would tell you prayers don’t work. (So would I, actually.)
As I commented to an earlier post of yours, if you want peace, prepare for war.
Even if you believe in god, god helps those who help themselves, right?
    So don’t just pray, prepare.

FWIW – “God helps those who help themselves” is not biblical.

That’s a rather blunt statement. It’s not a quote, per se, from any translation of any Christian Bible I’ve read, but the sentiment or moral of the quote is biblically supported throughout. As are the ideas that God helps those who cannot help themselves, and God does for many what they cannot do for themselves.

Shitlibs get outraged over a white model selling jeans, but not over a man getting assassinated in cold blood.

Have we gotten to the stage where the MSM begins making him out as a sympathetic hero?

Sympathy for the Devil. He dragged his lover into the crime…. how touching. “Somebody had to do it ..so I stepped up”.. His father immediately recognized the rifle. Can’t imagine the shock…

First come all the crazy white chicks, mooning over how dreamy he is.
(Newsflash: He doesn’t want you, girls.)

Those same types of women believe that they are so unique, so special, unlike any other, that they can ‘change him’.

I doubt they want to change him. For these women the cold-blooded killing – and the horrible pain Kirk’s widow and children are experiencing – are part of the kink.

Dolce Far Niente in reply to Recovering Lutheran. | September 16, 2025 at 11:17 pm

Well, it’s the gay part they won’t be able to change and will want to (although if they are the type of women who’s into pegging, they might get along).

But you’re right about the killer part; every serial in prison gets love letters from those kinky females.

BigRosieGreenbaum in reply to henrybowman. | September 17, 2025 at 5:11 am

Actually they won’t. I believe that he’s already been declared not very hot. He’s not Luigi hot. Yuck!

We already blew past that at warp speed. The media is now openly trying to jump-start a genocide by encouraging copycat killings.

Check out the history of the genocide in Rwanda, where for years the media shrieked nonstop that citizens had the duty to exterminate the “Tutsi cockroaches” (read: “fascists”).

The media is the enemy of the people.

DaveGinOly in reply to Danny. | September 16, 2025 at 8:39 pm

Maybe some media personalities are someone’s list of who has been naughty.

But they have never stopped to think about that, despite their yammering about “access to guns” and the “threat posed by young, white, nationalist males.”

Maybe they should have listened to themselves.

This reporter has been reading too many beach novels with pictures of Fabio on the cover.. These texts aren’t some touching intimate, vulnerable moment; it’s a couple of lunatics displaying their lunacy.
This bastard will be crispy very soon.

I hope the FBI doesn’t take this loving Romeo and Juliet texting too seriously. The shooter also texted he was sorry to tell his chat guys that he is leaving them. The group and lover all gated Kirk….I see “Mission accomplished cheers”…not parting is such sweet sorrow. You have Zinn showing up. “We f’n got him”, shot at the time of talking about trans. Off the roof and walking away so how did rifle get in woods….just saying too convenient a package given to authorities.

Matt guttman ready to come out the closet? Sounding latent.

Apparently, the fever over at bluesky is so hot that they don’t believe the ‘touching’ dialog as reported in the charging document. Some complain that it is like all MAGA conspiracies.

As others have noted on social media, these texts read like CYA messages. He is going out of his way to indemnify his trans “lover”, who the DA hasn’t charged or arrested. Why? They need him to testify. Despite destroying evidence, seeing the bullets etched in their apartment, and seeing a friggin’ rifle in the apt. for over a week. I think this “genius” killer is pulling one over on the Feebs when he contemporaneously sent these texts afterward. How effing convenient.
