Poll: Yale Finds Almost Half of College Students Believe Socialism is Better Than Capitalism
“39 percent disagreed, while 15 percent said they were unsure”
This is a direct result of the messaging that has been pounded into these kids’ heads by people like Bernie Sanders and AOC.
Campus Reform reports:
About half of college students say socialism is better than capitalism, poll says
A new survey released on Sept. 21 reveals that a significant number of college students view socialism more favorably than capitalism, with some even praising countries like Cuba over the United States.
The poll, conducted for Yale University’s William F. Buckley Institute, asked undergraduates whether they agreed with the statement, “While socialist countries like Cuba and the Soviet Union have not been perfect, they offer a better economic model than capitalist countries like the United States.”
Nearly half of respondents, 46 percent, supported the statement placing socialistic model of government above our capitalistic one, according exclusive early information about the poll in an exclusive by The New York Post. 39 percent disagreed, while 15 percent said they were unsure.
“If you had to choose, which economic system would you prefer to live under?” asked the poll. About 40 percent slightly preferred capitalism, 36 percent chose socialism, and 24 percent were unsure.
Political affiliation influenced responses: among students identifying as liberal, nearly six in 10 (58 percent) favored socialism, while 63 percent of conservatives preferred capitalism.
“It is alarming that a record percentage of undergraduates support shouting down opinions they don’t like,” said Buckley Institute Executive Director Lauren Noble about the poll. “Nearly 40% think violence is justifiable, a disturbing reality coming just weeks after Charlie Kirk’s assassination.”
The Buckley Institute promotes intellectual diversity and freedom of speech at Yale University, according to its website. It seeks to foster open debate, provide a home for conservative thought, and expose students to underrepresented perspectives.

But can the students define either socialism or capitalism? Smart money says no.
As I have stated before
“Demonize capitalism today get socialism tomorrow”
College is openly demonizing capitalism and promoting socialism…..
Did you expect another result?
The question is will we be the party of free markets and private property or take the Tucker route to being the other socialist party.
The demonization of capitalism does not come only from Democrats.
If the Republican Party does not provide a robust defense of capitalism in the face of socialist ascendancy in the culture, and does not use free market solutions you will find socialism ascends further.
If you lie about the current economy while appealing to myths and lies about how wonderful the economy was when southerners worked in cotton fields for slave wages, and factory workers felt so abused that even mafia dominated unions beat the hell out of allowing the employer his absolute discretion (among many other deficits in the 20th century economy that would last seconds before an American equivalent of the French Revolution if our economy resembled it again) what you will end up is socialism.
Luckily socialism support goes down when leaving the college campus but college is unfortunately where the minds of future leaders are shaped.
correct that the gop has again and again x10 failed the public in supplying the truth about capitalism superiority as they refuse to stop tax funding of the schools>>>msm
Exactly
The survey asked students opinion of what they learned in an environment that teaches “socialism good-capitalism bad.” Open your eyes and ears. The left has long term goals that are now bearing fruit. The Communist s have infiltrated our education systems going back to the days of Stalin. Do any of you remember him? Well over the years the communists have been able to influence the education of our children to the point they now hate our country and system of government. The failure of our good and moral systems by purveyors of evil in our own time.
It appears the Left in the west are following Mao’s playbook on indoctrinating students to build the Red Guard. And from there, a Cultural Revolution.
They are playing the same stupid game that this most privileged and entitled generation in history is somehow a massive pile of victims that can’t do for themselves because the system wants to crush them. Operation demoralize is well under way.
A poll is a gambit to sway public opinion masquerading as a recording of it.
If more conservative kids prefer capitalism than liberal kids prefer socialism (63% to 58%) then the issue isn’t capitalism v socialism but conservative v liberal. With the Left dominating schools, academia, entertainment, and the news, avoiding Leftist indoctrination is the problem.
If we can pull our heads out of the box created by tradition and the Overton Window, it should be apparent to you that schools (and medical care, and a bunch of other things that don’t benefit from the initiation of force) are NOT a defensible domain of governments, and that political skewing is exactly what you get when you make ANY part of the free market less free by surrendering it to the government.
The Long March paid off for the Gramsci/Dutschke acolytes.
If one asked “of the three countries, Russia, Cuba, and the US, which country has an obesity problem and why?” would the students realize that for the first time in history we have a country that has such an over abundance of food that we have an obesity problem? That is due to our free market economy and not just an abundance of food but of practically everything. Who wants to live in a society that experiences shortages? Then ask of the three countries, which country invented the smart phone? That is due to our free market economy. Who wants to live in a technologically stagnant society? Many of these students seem to be uneducated. It would have been even more interesting to know what was the US vs foreign student split in the response.
