Patel Confirms FBI Not Targeting Parents at School Board Meetings, Catholics
“Nobody is targeted for their faith” and “Nobody is targeting anyone for their beliefs.”
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan asked FBI Director Kash Patel if the FBI has continued the controversial moves performed under former President Joe Biden’s administration.
Spying on parents at school board meetings? Targeting Catholics? Targeting pro-life people? Cooking the crime data books?
Nope:
“Is the FBI still spying on parents at school board meetings?”
KASH: “No, sir.”
“Is the FBI still targeting Catholics?”
KASH: “No, sir.”
“Is the FBI still censoring Americans?”
KASH: “No, sir.”
“Is the FBI still targeting Americans for shopping at Cabela’s or purchasing Bibles?”
KASH: “Nobody is targeted for their faith.”
“Is the FBI still targeting Americans who are pro-life?”
KASH: “Nobody is targeting anyone for their beliefs.”
“Is the FBI still cooking the books on crime data?”
KASH: “The crime data is real.”
“Is the FBI still purging agents for conservative viewpoints?”
KASH: “No one at the FBI is asked their viewpoints on politics.”
“Is the FBI still labeling the Betsy Ross Flag, of the American Revolution, a ‘hate symbol?'”
KASH: “No.”
“Well, maybe that’s why you’ve been able to – what was the number, 23,000 bad guys you’ve arrested? A HUGE increase from the same time period in the previous administration? I think you said 1,400 predators? 4,000 children rescued?”
“Maybe when you’re not focused on politics, you can focus on what the FBI is supposed to do – GO GET THE BAD GUYS!”

Turning Point USA was targeted by the FBI, as well….but as usual those that target conservatives face no consequences
Not targeting anyone for their beliefs is a step in the right direction. It is actually horrifying to think that it happened.
But one step is not enough.
Those who participated need to be identified, fired and banned from ever holding positions in law enforcement.
Such targeting has gone on since the agency was formed. It will continue.
Correct – classifying catholic grandmothers protesting against abortion shifted valuable resources from serious crime investigation to non issues.
I have no axe to grind with Patel personally – I think he’s doing a great job – but I only wish that he had been given the same mandate as was given Secretary McMahon to be the final leader of a government entity.
We do not need a national police force. We didn’t need one in 1776 or at anytime after that. Whatever the FBI is working on can be handled by state authorities.
Would you feel comfortable with NY authorities pursuing a crime committed by one of their favorite demographics? Also, I suspect that FBI forensic resources are both superior and more timely, versus what most states could do, both of which matter.
This is my point. Mangione is probably free and has killed again by this point without an FBI, no matter how much they bungled it at the beginning.

The FBI has their favorites; don’t kid yourself. It depends on a combination of who is running the joint and who sits in the Oval Office.
The FBI can do what state authorities cannot do – cross state lines.
If a child is abducted in Pennsylvania and taken to Arizona, the Pennsylvania have neither the legal authority or the manpower to go to Arizona. Bank robberies that cross state lines are the same way.
Also, the FBI labs are were many state authorities send items for testing. The costs of the high level forensic testing the FBI does would be prohibitive for the states to absorb, (Even though the FBI, like many state labs, has had problems with their lab in the past,)
There are some good reasons to look at the FBI, but no good reasons to abolish it.

Gee. Thanks. And when you’re gone, depending upon who’s appointed in your place, the spying and the intimidation will begin again.
The best thing Mr. Patel can do is start. The procedure is necessary to shut down the FBI and close up the building forever.
Correct. Many of the roles that the FBI does can be absorbed by Federal Marshals who also have jurisdiction across state lines, especially for fugitives who cross the state borders.
The FBLie must die a quick death, figuratively speaking.
This is the crucial takeaway point.
Patel needs to understand that the critical issue is not whether the FBI is or isn’t, but whether it has and will do again.
