There is apparently no connection between Sanford and the LDS congregation.

Authorities have confirmed a gunman injured multiple people at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, MI, located about 60 miles from Detroit.
The shooter is down, according to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department.
The church is also on fire.
The police received a call at 11:00 AM. The shooter went down at 11:25 AM.
The police confirmed there is no threat to the public.
