Jerry Seinfeld Says the ‘Free Palestine’ Mob is Worse Than the KKK

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld made a surprise appearance at Duke University this week with a former Israeli hostage. During his remarks, the famously Jewish entertainer suggested that the ‘Free Palestine’ mob is worse than the Ku Klux Klan, saying that at least KKK members are up front about the fact that they hate Jews.

One of the fascinating aspects of this story is that some people on the left were actually shocked by this because they think they’re the good guys.

The Duke Chronicle reported:

Jerry Seinfeld compares ‘Free Palestine’ movement to KKK in surprise Duke appearanceActor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld denounced the “Free Palestine” movement as antisemitic in a surprise appearance at a Tuesday Duke event, likening it to rhetoric from the Ku Klux Klan during his introduction of a former Israeli hostage.“Free Palestine is, to me, just — you’re free to say you don’t like Jews. Just say you don’t like Jews,” Seinfeld said.“By saying Free Palestine, you’re not admitting what you really think,” he continued. “So it’s actually — compared to the Ku Klux Klan, I’m actually thinking the Klan is actually a little better here because they can come right out and say, ‘We don’t like Blacks, we don’t like Jews.’ Okay that’s honest.”Seinfeld made the comments at an event with Omer Shem Tov, a former Israeli hostage who was abducted by Hamas at the Oct. 7, 2023, Nova music festival and held captive for 505 days. The event was sponsored primarily by Chabad at Duke, as well as the Provost’s Initiative on the Middle East, University centers and Jewish student groups. Seinfeld’s remarks came as part of a brief introduction to Shem Tov and the event’s moderator, N.C. State Sen. Sophia Chitlik, D-Durham.

The liberal Hollywood Reporter clearly views this as a controversial opinion:

The Chronicle quoted a University spokesperson who noted, “Duke does not preview the remarks of speakers who are invited to campus, and the invitation of speakers to campus does not imply any endorsement of their remarks.”A representative for Seinfeld declined to comment. The Hollywood Reporter also reached out to two of the Duke groups behind the event but has not yet heard back.

Why should anyone have to ‘comment’ on this at all? It’s true, isn’t it?

ABC News in North Carolina got quotes from students who are obviously left wing:

“I feel unsafe as a Palestinian American student myself, being on a campus where a call for freedom and justice is misconstrued,” Laila Dames told ABC11 on Wednesday. “If the school wants to be a place of diversity and inclusion and equity, they need to speak out and deplore what he said and support all the students.”Noah Jacobs, a Jewish Duke student, told ABC11 that, “Free Palestine is obviously not at all comparable to the Ku Klux Klan. I’m really just honestly nauseated. “Just wanted to bring my voice as a Jewish student to say, really, this is something we care about.”

Jerry Seinfeld deserves credit for being brave enough to say this. Too many people in the entertainment industry lack the courage to speak out in this way, even if they agree.
