Newsom Suddenly Gets Tough on Crime in California

California Governor Gavin Newsom is suddenly concerned about crime and is launching a new law enforcement initiative, which he claims will be felt throughout the state. This comes after two weeks of accusing Trump of being an authoritarian for taking on crime in Washington, DC.
Newsom is such a transparently fake blowhard. This has nothing to do with the interests of the people of California and everything to do with Newsom’s 2028 presidential run, as well as his pathetic obsession with one-upping President Trump.

Newsom deploys new crime-fighting teams across California amid Trump crackdown
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) will deploy “crime suppression teams” throughout the state amid President Trump’s crime crackdown.
“When the state and local communities work together strategically, public safety improves. While the Trump Administration undermines cities, California is partnering with them — and delivering real results,” Newsom said in a press release.
“With these new deployments, we’re doubling down on these partnerships to build on progress and keep driving crime down,” he continued.
Teams of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will work with local law enforcement in San Diego, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Central Valley, Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.
“I want to thank the Governor for being a collaborative partner. The best way to address crime and other top challenges is through partnership and this is an example of that,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) said in a press release.
Newsom, in a post on the social platform X, said, “The President is doing things TO PEOPLE. California is doing it WITH PEOPLE.”
CHP will work through intelligence sharing, crime deterrence techniques, assist in investigative work and increase law enforcement visibility.
In the video below, Newsom paints his effort as data-driven, as if to suggest it’s a much smarter plan. He again calls Trump an authoritarian and tries to suggest that crime in Louisiana is much worse than in California, while having a Republican governor, conveniently ignoring the fact that New Orleans is controlled by Democrats. He comes off as such an insufferable prig. Watch:

Unfortunately for the few good people left in California, Newsom is such an abject failure at everything he puts his hand to that crime will doubtless go up in the future.
Trump will take this opportunity to *not* intercede in any California city, leaving Governor Greaseball holding the bag.

Remember there was almost no squawking from the Gaystapo when he did this since all adults knew it was fake. Smart money says after a very brief time he will falsely claim that crime is now at historically low levels thanks to his leadership. Then he and his fellow Communist satraps will suppress the actual data on crime rates to bolster his claim.
I’ve got to give Newsom credit. He’s refreshingly scummy. He doesn’t hesitate to say or do anything that will allow him to cling to power for another day or eke out a single percent in the polls. He’s like a cartoon character.

I love this sort of drivel. What does it even mean ? Are California not going to “do things to” the criminals they catch ? Are they going to join in the crime or something ? Are the people in Chicago robots or something ?
