Leftists Show More Compassion for Minneapolis Shooter Than Victims

That poor girl who … went in there and shot up the school … we can only assume that that school … did not welcome her, did not make her feel seen, included, safe, during her confusing years …”

Wednesday’s news that a 23-year-old mentally ill transgender man had opened fire on students at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis during a back-to-school Mass horrified the nation. The gunman’s depraved act left two children — Fletcher Merkel, 8, and Harper Moyski, 10 — dead, and 18 others wounded.

The tragedy was shocking enough. But nearly as unsettling were the surreal, and at times even grotesque, reactions from the Left — responses that ranged from callous indifference to outright empathy for the killer, Robert “Robin” Westman, who identified as a female.

In the video below, a far-Left activist makes it clear that her sympathy lies not with the innocent victims, but with the perpetrator himself. Her words must be heard to be believed.

I want to talk with everyone about the situation in the Catholic school shooting.

That poor girl who attended the school and went in there and shot up the school after transitioning and after attending that school, and we can only assume that that school, as a Catholic school, did not welcome her, did not make her feel seen, included, safe, during her confusing years, during her transitional years, during her becoming who she needed to become.

But the goal was to become happy when you transition. And so this is going to feed a lot of conversation about mental illness around trans people and this is why people shouldn’t encourage people to transition. And it’s just so sad because it affects the LGBTQ+ community.

Sadly, there are many similar videos out there from progressives whose reactions to this depraved act were to reaffirm their support for the brave souls who have the “courage” to transgender.

Possibly even more disturbing were the messages from Democratic leaders and influencers such as Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, former Biden administration press secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki, and California Governor Gavin Newsom.

At a press conference following the killings, Frey had the audacity to lecture reporters on the hatred being directed toward the trans community as a consequence of the violence. He made a remarkable statement: “I have heard about a whole lot of hate that’s being directed at our trans community. Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community, or any other community out there, has lost their sense of common humanity.”

Of course, he made no mention of Westman’s open hatred for Catholics, in fact, for all Christians and Jews, which is why the FBI is investigating this as a hate crime and potentially a case of domestic terrorism. The killer attached an image of Jesus Christ to a shooting target. He also wrote “Where is Your God?” on a gun magazine.

Frey also criticized those calling for prayer. He warned: “Don’t say this is about ‘thoughts and prayers’ right now — these kids were literally praying. It was the first week of school — they were in a church.”

Frey’s comments almost make one want to go out and cast a vote for his opponent, socialist Omar Fateh, in the city’s upcoming mayoral election.

Psaki first responded to the shooting on X. She wrote: “Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers do not end school shootings. Prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.

It took Psaki around a nanosecond to push her narrative even further. In a second post, she added, “When kids are getting shot in their pews at a catholic school mass and your crime plan is to have National Guard put mulch down around DC, maybe rethink your strategy.”

Psaki doubled down during a monologue on her Wednesday night show. She said,

Half the politicians in our country have little more to offer than thoughts and prayers. That is all they are offering. ‘Join all of us in praying for the victims’ was Vice President JD Vance’s response today.

That’s what he said. That’s it. ‘Please join me in praying for everyone involved,’ [President Donald] Trump wrote. We have seen this play out over and over again. There is a shooting. Then come the thoughts and prayers, and then comes the attempt to shift the focus. This is what always happens.

While her followers loved her provocative messages, her words didn’t sit well with Christians and conservatives.

Karen Hamilton, a candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, responded, “I don’t expect a spiritually blind person to understand prayer, but it is real. Today I attended the funeral of a baby, and often when parents are in the depths of grief, Jesus is their greatest comforter. You should investigate why that is, rather than belittling it.”

Journalist Megan Basham wrote, “Your party encourages mental illness in telling men they can be women, then encourages them identify as victims when the world does not indulge their perverse fantasies, and then screams ‘prayers are not enough’ when insane transgenders shoot up schools.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized Psaki’s remarks at Thursday’s press briefing, saying, “I saw the comments of Ms. Psaki and frankly I think they’re incredibly insensitive and disrespectful to the tens of millions of Americans of faith across this country who believe in the power of prayer, who believe that prayer works.”

Newsom’s mindless reaction to Leavitt? He reiterated Frey’s earlier comment: “These children were literally praying as they got shot at.”

And now this foolish, unforced quip from the man is laser-focused on becoming the next president of the United States, has everybody talking.

The dimwitted California governor knows not what he’s done. But he’s about to find out.

Why is this surprising? These are the same slimebags that show more compassion for illegal aliens than for their victims. It seems like a pattern, favor the criminal, not the victim of their crime.

It’s because they are the scum of the earth. They have no god, except their belief in Satan. They are not the enemy. They are evil.

    We can’t hate them enough.

It is good to hate evil. To not hate them is to embrace evil.

    The. Satan wins.

Western Leftists are utterly despicable, evil lunatics.

About the only reasonable position they hold is their self-hate, but even there they end up blaming that problem on the normal people around them who they are so envious of and have a burning hate of, fueling their insane nihilistic furor. Western leftists are the sickest errors that the trial and error of evolution has ever puked onto the Earth. They are sick, dangerous, demented people who hate existence and want to make all of us pay for the fact they were ever born.

The Left is all about destruction, division, hate. I have never seen them propose anything rationally positive; skittles and unicorns, sure, but nothing actually feasible in the real world..

“At a press conference following the killings, Frey had the audacity to lecture reporters on the hatred being directed toward the trans community as a consequence of the violence.”

“Robin” is trans and a victim, until he’s not. Some commentators (e.g. Rosie O’Donnell) are referring to Robin as a he/him, dumping their “respect” for his identity in order to uphold the “straight white males are responsible for school shootings” narrative. Talk about hatred directed towards an identifiable community – they dump their own created reality in order to step back into actual reality just to pin the blame on a disfavored group. At least this shows how unserious they are about their created reality – they know it’s a sham and now we know that they know it.

This is an old, repurposed argument first used to excuse Black criminality. Apparently, Black men are driven to cruelty and madness by White Supremacy and White people, obviously, deserve it. Similar thing here — this man murdered children because he couldn’t use the girls’ washroom.

Y’all seen this video?
Crazy white chick shitlib snaps and goes 200% unhinged at a (senior) restaurant patron possessing a MAGA hat, continually returning to his table to shout even longer and louder at him… eventually gets carted off by cops, when you can see that she is wearing a Luigi Mangione fangirl tee shirt.

“[Psaki] wrote: “Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers do not end school shootings.”
Jen, you ignorant slut.
Shooting BACK is what ends school shootings.
How any mall shootings you heard of in the three years since Elisjsha Dicken?
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah.
Go put on your Commie pussy hat and eat your box borscht.

The LGB portion of LGBTQIA2S+ is gonna have to bite the bullet and sever ties with the remainder of the alphabet mafia and do so very publicly and very loudly. Pretty much nobody in society gives a hoot about LGB relationships or marriage. (Exceptions apply, mostly among those older than Gen X) That cultural ship sailed but…the stubborn refusal to draw sharp contrast with the TQIA2S+ extremists is undermining the continued tolerance and acceptance by normies. IOW make grand gestures, tell the extremists they gotta get their own parade and not show up to ‘gay pride’ parades. Keep the oddballs away from kids, no drag queen story time, no sexualized reading material/lessons in elementary school. Then comes the much more difficult part, telling the tranny lobby/activists to keep their hands off of minor children. If some 18 year old adult has a legit diagnosis and completes a legit course of therapy and there’s a long term evaluation before hormones, much less surgery, are administered then fine…so long as that treatment is 100% out of pocket cost for the patient.

I can only speak for the United Kingdom, but hear literally almost nobody cares about gay people, at pretty much any level, even among the older generation. It’s just “if that’s the way they swing, good luck to them”.

There are gay events from time to time, “gay pride week” and the like, but it’s more just an excuse to party than to protest.

The LGB group doesn’t have much to protest about. There are very few rights (if any?) they do not actually have. When gay marriage became a thing a while back, some churches refused to marry gay people, that would now be viewed much as refusing to marry black people.

Seriously? Is that how normal people in the UK view the Catholic church, the CoE, and all the other churches that refuse to perform same-sex marriages?

you havent met your (still growing) muss population yet

and to try to say that the UK people are “more enlightened” is just more progressive style bs

“giving up” b/c you are to weak OR to scared to fight is different than being enlightened

CommoChief in reply to paulscott. | August 31, 2025 at 9:31 am

‘…would now be viewed much as refusing to marry back people’.

I got questions. Did you mean that some religious sects refused to allow a marriage ceremony for two ‘black people’? OR did you mean an interracial marriage? There exists, IMO, a very large distinction between sincerely held religious beliefs re homosexuality v out right racism as the basis for declining use of a Church and/or refusal to officiate the ceremony.

Upon a bit of research it appears that both the Church of England and of Wales are legally required to officiate a same sex marriage for those residing within their Parish. USA religious liberty for the win over the totalitarianism of the UK.

So even the basic decency of not murdering people is excused for you if you claim trans?

Great way to get a whole bunch of absolutely awful human beings to claim they are trans.

Nah. Luigi didn’t have to claim squat, still got a free pass.

No, they are not. In fact ministers are not legally allowed to officiate same-sex marriages without their governing body’s permission, and neither the CoE nor the CiW allows it.

Of course the Left is sympathetic towards Westman. They consider him to be one of them, doing their work against their enemies.

Wonder what the response would have been if a Christian young person had shot up a group of trans people ……

Marxists do not give a care on their opponents, they would love to see a opponent they can turn into a monster.
Cultural Marxism is to protect their LGBQXYZ

It’s an entertainment contest, not a compassion contest, on both sides.

The reason that your boss says “Sorry about your father,” isn’t that he’s sorry. It’s code to let you know that you can let deadlines slip for a while, and it’s not necessary to laugh at the same repeated jokes for a while. A relief from various social and business obligations, and that’s why he offers his sympathy. He’s not sorry, just generous.

You have a use for that sympathy. Hence it’s point.

If you’re sympathetic with victims that you don’t know, say in every clickbait soap opera headline you see, your sympathy is of no use to victims and lacks a point. It’s you entertaining yourself.

Those interested in the shooter are just speculating on a news story, owing no sympathy to anybody, but still using the story to entertain themselves.

Here we have a story about the shooter-interested to entertain those who entertained themselves offering sympathy.

Stop falling for this crap.

your assumption is that he (“the boss”) really doesnt care is just that,,an assumption

sure, the rest of what you post on allowing work to slide might be true

or it could be that he letting you know he is sorry for your loss but if its going to affect your work

    take some time off

Dolce Far Niente in reply to rhhardin. | August 31, 2025 at 10:13 am

I think your post just illustrates your own essential indifference to the rest of humanity.

If you are an atheist or deist, and therefore believe that prayer does as much good as crystals or homeopathy, you would naturally see the fact that these children’s prayers didn’t protect them as confirmation of your belief. So I don’t think it’s grotesque or outrageous for such people to point this out.

Look, whenever these attacks happen, and Dems reflexively call for more restrictions on the RKBA, we correctly point out that such restrictions do nothing to prevent such attacks, and in fact make them more likely. And we don’t accept that that is insensitive or grotesque, even though the Dems accuse us of it.

Well, from their point of view, our call for more prayer seems exactly the same. They believe that prayer does nothing to prevent such attacks, and reliance on ineffective remedies obviously prevents the adoption of effective ones, so it makes them more likely. So I think we shouldn’t be insulting or condemning them for their reaction; we should merely continue to present our own view, and the evidence for it.

destroycommunism in reply to Milhouse. | August 31, 2025 at 8:40 am

    true

but letting them know ( as they do to us) what is your objection is all part of this level of warfare

Dolce Far Niente in reply to Milhouse. | August 31, 2025 at 10:19 am

But apparently they, and you, don’t realize that prayer offered is not being used by believers as some sort of magic amulet to prevent Bad Things™, but as a plea and a hope for comfort for those bereaved.

And you also are apparently unaware that the calls for gun restrictions after atrocities like these are FREQUENTLY coldly and callously calculated to take advantage of voters’ natural horror, and yes, it’s truly insensitive and grotesque and many do call it out.

So you don’t pray that bad things should not happen. And you don’t think God ever accepts or acts on such prayers. You only pray because it makes you feel better about the bad things that nothing can prevent. Is that because you think God isn’t real, or is it because you don’t believe your prayers can influence Him?

somalians and blacks have battled each other in the these schools for decades now and the msm back in the late 90s early ‘000 made the decision to stop putting that news for the public to consume
