A Brooklyn activist with deep ties to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats has been arrested after allegedly urging her followers to “attack” a public high school because Jewish students attend it. This is just the latest example of the disturbing antisemitic strain running through the far left.
According to the New York Post:
A Brooklyn woman who worked as a youth organizer for “Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was arrested Friday on charges she urged her 25,000 social media followers to “attack” a public high school because Jewish students attend it.
The suspect, 27-year-old Iman Abdul, posted a screenshot of Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences in Manhattan Beach with the chilling caption:
“If anyone needs a public school in NYC to attack for whatever reason … Lexus driving Israhell (sic) loving Zionisits (sic) all attend here,” the since-deleted post read.“They’ve all gone on ‘Birthright,’ it added, referring to a popular program that offers free 10-day trips to Israel for Jewish young adults.
While her account has been scrubbed, Twitter/X users were quick to screengrab her outrageous rant:
Police charged Abdul with making a terroristic threat, aggravated harassment, making a threat of mass harm, and acting in a manner injurious to a child. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and the department’s intelligence unit were alerted within hours.
Jewish advocates blasted the post.
“A map. A pin. A call to harm Jews, fellow New Yorkers, children, teachers. This isn’t just dangerous. It’s evil. Jew-hatred doesn’t stop with a threat. It escalates. We need immediate and unequivocal action,” Tova Plaut, a DOE pre-K staffer and Jewish activist, told The Post.
Even after the outrage, Abdul doubled down, sending StopAntisemitism a rambling defense:
On Twitter/X, Israel advocate Uri Cohen shared a clip from Abdul’s account showing her mocking complaints to police:
Full video transcript:
“Uh, bro zionists would be like, I filed a police report on your freedom of speech because I’m scared as a zionist that the arabs and the black and the brown people are going to continue to hate me. Oh my god.”
Abdul’s radical activism is not new. In a 2019 Activist Spotlight interview, she proudly detailed her work on progressive campaigns:
“I’ve also worked on several progressive political campaigns this past summer such as current Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, current State Senator Julia Salazar, and Ross Barkan. I was a youth community organizer for the grassroots Ross Barkan campaign, organizing to engage youth in politics.”
She described herself as a youth leader driven by political ideology from an early age, recalling being “exposed to daily graphic scenes in Palestine” as a child and channeling that into activism.
The arrest underscores a growing problem within the Democratic Party’s far-left flank, where hostility toward Israel routinely slides into open antisemitism. Figures like Ocasio-Cortez have dealt with activists who demonize Jewish institutions, emboldening a fringe that now openly threatens Jewish children in America’s public schools.
