Chicago Carjacking, Assault Victim Rebukes Trump: Stay Out, ‘No Red Hats Here’

In a sane world, most citizens would choose law and order over mob rule. Unfortunately, many Americans are so consumed by Trump Derangement Syndrome that they’d rather endure crime than accept his efforts to make their cities safer.
In just a few weeks, President Donald Trump’s initiative to clean up Washington, D.C., and crack down on crime in the capital has already shown positive results. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Friday, the president noted that Chicago is next on his list.
“Chicago is a mess,” he said. “You have an incompetent mayor, grossly incompetent, and we’ll straighten that one out probably next. That’ll be our next one after this, and it won’t even be tough.”
Upon hearing this, a Chicago woman, Jill Ciminillo — who once endured a harrowing carjacking and assault in the crime-ridden city — sent an incredibly stupid message to Trump. In a now-deleted post from her now-deleted account on X, she wrote: “Dear @realDonaldTrump… I’ve been carjacked in Chicago with my arm broken. I still don’t want you or your troops here. TIA. BTW, there are no red hats here.”

Jill Ciminillo has actually proven me wrong. I’ve always maintained that once a person has been mugged by reality, they’ll acknowledge that crime is a serious problem in American cities that must be addressed.
Apparently, this really is a hill that Democrats are willing to die on. They would rather live with a higher likelihood of becoming the victim of a violent crime than admit Trump is right about something.
As I see it, these individuals are nearing the end stages of TDS. Blinded by their hatred of Trump, they’ve opposed making the 2017 tax cuts permanent, the Department of Government Efficiency’s push to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, laws protecting women’s sports from biological males, the deportation of millions of illegal immigrants, and now the Trump administration’s effort to crack down on crime.
But the American people recognize insanity when they see it. And tone deaf statements like Ciminillo’s only serve to remind them how delusional — and dangerous — the Democratic Party has become.

I’m no fan of Chicago, never have been. The city is full of itself, and I’ve always called it “the city that smirks” (its slogan is “the city that works”). But it is a beautiful city with great architecture and a gorgeous lakefront. The problem is it’s been corrupt and driven into the ground by mismanagement for over a century. This is largely the D’s fault.
Richard J Daley (the old man) might have been a real SOB, but even he would not have put up with all the crime and crap going on there now.
Get rid of the cockroaches in Chicago and get it under proper management – then it will have a chance to thrive.

For another disturbing example like this Chicago woman, there is the case of Jen Angel who was murdered in Oakland in 2023. Her friends and fellow Wokists didn’t want the perpetrators sent to prison, and wanted an “opportunity of truth telling from all parties”.

AWLFs are generally tone deaf to common sense. They’d rather support the narrative than any policies that effectively eradicate the underlying problem. Crime is caused by criminals. It doesn’t matter why Joe or Jane decided to become criminals. Neither poverty nor greed are acceptable excuses for mitigation. Put the convicted criminals into prison for long mandatory sentences and the level of crime goes down. Some from deterrence, some from more effective/efficient use of LEO when they ain’t arresting the same faces over and over and can service more calls ..but mostly b/c the more criminals in prison the less criminals on the street to commit crimes.
Alas, we have become a nation where half of the population not only rejects the concept of consequences for mal-actions, they celebrate the bad actors. Q.V., support for the Menendez brothers, Luigi Mangione, 1.6 million people signing a petition supporting the trucker who killed three people, lionizing Garcia Abrego, etc, etc.
Probably more like 1/3 than 1/2 for those specific things but your point definitely still stands. We’ve allowed society/culture to become far too indulgent and/or tolerant of not just criminality but basic disorder. All these folks engaging in hysterical screaming in public should be sent for a 72 hour psych evaluation to determine if they can/can’t operate in society with basic civility and regard for others or if they will continue to display anti social behavior. Either they can regulate their behavior independently or it gets regulated for them by others.
