Washington State School District Backs Teacher Over ‘This Teacher Kills Fascists’ Social Media Post

“Yes, I’m woke. Yes, I teach DEI. No, I’m not sorry if that triggers the willfully ignorant.”

Gee, I wonder who the teacher was referring to in his post. It’s a real mystery.

The College Fix reports:

School district backs teacher who posted ‘This Teacher Kills Fascists’ on social media

A Washington State school district is defending a teacher who posted a “This Teacher Kills Fascists” sign on social media the end of last month.

In the since-deleted Instagram post, Olympia High School teacher Ryan Akiyama (pictured) noted he had planned on putting the sign on his hydration pack for an upcoming race.

According to The OlympianAkiyama also wrote “Might need to print it on a T-shirt next for all my fellow WOKE DEI educators still showing up with courage and care. Yes, I’m woke. Yes, I teach DEI. No, I’m not sorry if that triggers the willfully ignorant.”

Akiyama further explained that teaching is “an inherently political act,” but not in “the direction the neo-fascists in the MAGA movement.” Teaching is “in service of E PLURIBUS UNUM, All are created equal, and equal protection under the law.”

Given that description of MAGA (and more), “some” expressed concern about Akiyama’s “fascists” sign. Commentator Brandi Kruse noted Akiyama previously had deemed “fascist” anyone who doesn’t agree with his politics.

Kruse posted on X a past Akiyama comment that says “Every day it becomes increasingly necessary to speak out against the evil of the MAGA movement […] This is not what anybody with even a 4th grade knowledge of 20th century history should tolerate.”

Akiyama (who obviously takes good care of himself) also is terribly concerned about the safety of police officers — well, those who were attacked by U.S. Capitol rioters on January 6, 2021, that is.

DEI is directly opposed to all are created equal, and equal protection under the law.

Of course, his verbal hatred of the right, while malignant, is clearly defended by the 1st Amendment, but had his sign said “This teacher kills Homos” or “This teacher kills Negroes” all his rights would have evaporated immediately.

Funny how that works.

All this sound and fury over some halfwit teacher whose cleverness extends only as far as plagiarizing the superior wit of Woodie Guthrie.

This guy is a definite fascist so it sounds like he wants to kill himself. He should be involuntarily committed and evaluated for his own safety. Make sure you give him the Hannibal Lector treatment. ball gag and straight jacket.

No, by all means allow him to do himself in. That’ll mean less competition for valuable oxygen & other consumables that he’s wasting now.

His “right” to have and express his beliefs may be protected by the 1st Amendment, but that protection doesn’t extend to employment by the state. Yet, they’re the ones who claim our protected speech is violence, while their violence is protected speech.

Yes, it does. It is unconstitutional for any government entity to fire an employee as a penalty for their protected speech. Even if the employee expressed an explicit wish for the president’s assassination. Rankin v McPherson.
