Rights for Illegals, Contempt for a Working Mom: NYC Anti-ICE Protesters Exposed

Rights for Illegals, Contempt for a Working Mom: NYC Anti-ICE Protesters Exposed

Peaceful protest does not mean you get to hold innocent people hostage.

A disturbing scene unfolded on the streets of New York City on Tuesday as anti-ICE protesters blocked traffic, preventing everyday people from getting to where they needed to be. In footage shared by Turning Point USA contributor Savanah Hernandez, a mother-and-son protest duo is seen laughing and mocking a young black woman who was stuck in the gridlock—desperately pleading with them to let her through so she could get to work. Their response? Smirks and mockery.

With traffic having ground to a halt at a busy intersection, the young woman gets out of her car and begs the mother-son team to let her get through. “I have a kid and I need to go to work.”

The mother snapped, “These people [illegal immigrants] are having their children taken.”

“But what about my kid?” the young woman asked.

Too busy fighting for the rights of illegal immigrants, she replied sharply, “I can’t help you.”

Hernandez asked the protestors, “How do you all feel as white people stopping a black woman from going to work?”

The son, who looked to be in his thirties, turned to Hernandez and said sarcastically, “Oh no, not work.”

As a derisive smile crossed his face, he added, “I care so much.”

Angry and frustrated as one would be, the young woman pointed to the logjam behind her. “Look at this line you guys are causing. I’m not causing any problems. … We’re just trying to leave.”

Ah, the compassionate Left. The arrogance of these anti-ICE protestors was unmistakable as they brought traffic to a standstill in midtown Manhattan, stranding hundreds of New Yorkers without a second thought. With smug indifference, they turned a public street into a political stage—mocking those just trying to live their lives. So much for empathy.

Let’s be clear: peaceful protest does not mean you get to hold innocent people hostage. Blocking traffic, trapping commuters, and physically preventing movement isn’t protest—it’s unlawful detention. Fighting for the rights of illegal immigrants while stepping on the rights of American citizens exposes the hypocrisy at the heart of today’s activist Left.

Protest is about communication, not coercion. Carry a sign, shout your slogans, but don’t stand in the way of people trying to get home, to work, or to the doctor. When you deny someone the right to move freely, you’re not exercising your rights—you’re trampling on theirs. It’s not civil disobedience; it’s an act of aggression.

The New York Post reported that at least 80 protestors were arrested. I sincerely hope this mother/son pair was among those charged.

I’m waiting for the traffic blockers to start getting run over.

    I’d pay to see that!

Not gonna happen in NYC. They’d track that driver down and throw the book at them. That’s why these kinds of protests happen in places like NY and LA: They know the “authorities” won’t do anything to them and if the common citizens do, the “authorities” will bring their full might to bear against those lowly citizens who had the audacity to stand up for themselves.

I’d say the Mom should sue them, but in NY, the case would be dismissed with prejudice at the first hearing. Doesn’t that cruel mom understand that those righteous, upstanding leftists are just trying to make the world a better place?

The ends rationalize the means and all that.

Anyway, my point is let them try that crap in my neck of the woods. The next day there’d be a page 6 story in the local paper about the two people injured in a hit and run…”there were no witnesses willing to testify and the Police have no leads”.

Nope. Not seeing it. They’ll stick to NY and LA and Chicago, etc.

I’m aware of what you have said. But, even Noo Yawkuhz will reach a breaking point.

I hope you’re right, but the message has gone out…oppose us and you’ll be ruined. The J6ers weren’t really thrown in jails, held in solitary confinement and denied access to resources because they were a threat. That was a message: this is what happens when you protest against the “wrong” people.

NY didn’t really believe Daniel Penny was a criminal or what he did was wrong, they were sending a message by prosecuting him: this is what happens when you engage in “self-help” and don’t just let the authorities handle it. I’m pretty certain they were shocked when he was acquitted, but the acquittal doesn’t make the arrest and prosecution and costs of defense go away…the process is the punishment.

The point is, the message New Yorkers have been getting for decades is “resist us at your peril”. I’d like to believe that they still have the will to put a stop to abuses, but after being indoctrinated for that long…I’ll believe it when I see it.

Careful, I got kicked off of X like a year or so ago for saying something similar. Good old free speech Elon didn’t help me with my appeal. It’s too bad because I had almost no followers and really only used X to get news….oh well.

Florida took care of this problem. I’m surprised New Yorkers put up with this. A few guys bailing out of their cars and dragging these idiots off by their hair would solve it.

How a citizen thinks:

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

How an illegal thinks:

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but force your way into another country and demand everything and when you get it, show your appreciation by rioting, looting, burning and defying the laws of that land.”

Typical progressive. Virtue Signalling. 5 second attention span. Only care about the outrage of the day.

Past time for LEO to give commands to disperse/move if not immediately complied with apply pepper spray until the jerks blocking roads (and denying the civil.rights of ordinary people to go about their day travel, lawful commerce, freedom association, travel/movement) choose to surrender and comply. Then the DoJ needs to come to the jail at booking to file Civil Rights charges against the individuals and groups involved. Break them financially to go along with a meaningful term in prison.

Progressives do not care about people, except insofar as they can use people to gain and maintain power.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more punchable face than the face that is on that man-bun retard. Every time I watch our ‘great’ American cities descend into dens of lawlessness, I always think about what Thomas Jefferson said about them:

“the mobs of great cities add just so much to support of pure government as sores do to the strength of the human body”

He thought they were great lesions on the country. He had no idea how correct he’d be proven to be again, again and again.

Those losers should be doxxed.

stevewhitemd | June 11, 2025 at 4:26 pm

Run. Them. Down.

Somebody identify this duo and let’s make them even more famous!

There is no one more obnoxiously, brazenly and cruelly racist than a sanctimonious, virtue-signaling, self-congratulatory, white Dhimmi-crat/leftist/”liberal”/”progressive.”

The same vile, obnoxious, mocking, taunting, vindictive behavior was seen during the 2020 Dhimmi-crat insurrection in honor of drug-addled, career criminal sociopath, St. Floyd, when white Dhimmi-crats mocked and insulted black LEO’s who were attempting to control the riots.

We need more of these interviews with the protestors to expose for all to understand their values and priorities. We should not depend on the filtered view of politicians and journalists for that understanding.

E Howard Hunt | June 11, 2025 at 5:30 pm

From the facial features it is clear that the mother-son duo are New York Times subscribers.

guyjones in reply to E Howard Hunt. | June 11, 2025 at 6:43 pm

What a friggin’ stupid comment. Idiotic. Imbecilic.

Put down the Nazi literature when you’re sitting on the can, idiot.

Their “facial features?” Nobody gives a damn about that.

You’ve got some major issues, psycho.

You sound like a lunatic and a fool when you write moronic crap such as this.

Someone with such a punchable face really ought to keep his mouth shut.

Smokin Joe Frazier | June 11, 2025 at 7:12 pm

As HL Mencken put it, “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”

It would be a hoot if some homeless vagrant started beating the holy hachingah out of both of them. When the cops show up to arrest him for battery he can say he’s looking for three hots and a cot. What are they going to do, throw him in the briar patch?

I wonder how those two smug eejits would have reacted if the woman confronting them had been Hispanic and said she was “undocumented” and would lose her job if she was late.

CommoChief in reply to LibraryGryffon. | June 12, 2025 at 7:02 am

Probably told her she ‘wasn’t sufficiently motivated in support of the cause’. The locust leftists only care about the ’cause’ not individual people.

Our side needs to develop talents for doxxing so smug hypocrite virtue signalers like these traitors can get a taste of their own medicine
