Over 100 House Democrats Vote Against GOP Resolution Condemning Colorado Antisemitic Attack

“Democrats have become the pro-terrorist, anti-cop, antisemitic caucus. And they’re proud of it”

This is because Democrats are beholden to their insane base. They just can’t break free from them.

The New York Post reports:

113 House Democrats vote against GOP resolution denouncing the antisemitic terrorist attack in Colorado

More than 100 House Democrats voted against a Republican resolution condemning the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder and Colorado’s sanctuary state laws on Monday.

The resolution, introduced by Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo.), cleared the lower chamber 280-113, with 75 Democrats joining Republicans to pass the measure.

Democrats fumed over language in the resolution expressing “gratitude to law enforcement, including US Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel, for protecting the homeland.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee, the House GOP’s campaign arm, charged that Democrats voting against the bill “sided with terrorists over police officers and flat-out refused to condemn antisemitism.”

“Democrats have become the pro-terrorist, anti-cop, antisemitic caucus. And they’re proud of it,” the NRCC wrote on X.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) slammed Evans as a “joke” ahead of the vote.

“Who is this guy? He’s not seriously concerned with combating antisemitism in America. This is not a serious effort,” Jeffries told reporters. “Antisemitism is a scourge on America. It shouldn’t be weaponized politically.”

Evans shot back that the “wildly offensive sentiment” expressed by Jeffries is “why antisemitism persists.”

“The Left is unserious about finding real solutions,” the congressman argued on X. “Condemning terrorism is not a joking matter.”

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), who is Jewish and voted no on the resolution, argued on the House floor that the measure was being put forward to simply “score political points.”

“You weren’t here, Mr. Evans, last term, but there were about 10 antisemitism resolutions that effectively said the same thing solely to score political points,” Goldman said. “We Jews are sick and tired of being used as pawns.”

Too many are still bitter about being blackballed from admission to the country club.

I was outraged by this until I learned that another resolution with bi-partisan sponsorship & focused squarely on the antisemitism passed 400-0. And that the resolution that the 113 Democrats voted against emphasized the danger of people being in the U.S. illegally, diluting the condemnation of the antisemitic attack.
Not that I plan on voting for Democrats any time soon.

I was raised Reform by two parents who barely ever set food in a schul. Despite my 95.7% Ashkenasi lineage I don’t think of myself as Jewish anymore.

Raised reform that leaned a bit towards conservative. We went high holidays. I did temple youth so I was involved a lot more often, That changed in college. I haven’t practiced in a long time. I still think of myself as Jewish, but religion wise I’m somewhere between Agnostic and Atheist, 100% Ashkenasi lineage. Dislike organized religion because of the politics. Look somewhat askance at spirituality especially anything new age. Still I identify as a Jew which is why I’m mortified by the antics of other Jews especially those that are prominent for one reason or another,

The synagogue I was compelled to attend was stereotypically Reform. A definite pecking order based on wealth and the line of work one did, or one’s parents did.

My clothing came from Sears, not Desmond’s or Silverwood’s. Our cars were Hudsons and DeSotos, not Cadillacs. My shoes were Buster Brown, not children versions of Florsheim. My father was in scrap metal, not a doctor or attorney.

        My high school was worse.

I saw no class warfare in my temple. We were middle class. My town was 20% Jewish. No antisemitism experiences at all. The worse I experienced was ignorance.
          Completely difference experience from yours.

You might want to read Stephen Meyers’s recent book: Return of the God Hypothesis. It may raise serious questions f or you about atheism or agnosticism.
