The Los Angeles rioters destroyed at least five Waymo cars and Lime electric scooters.
Waymo is a private company offering driverless electric cars. Lime scooters are the ones you see around a city that you can rent and take around town.
These people actually called those Waymo cars to their destination just to destroy them.
The LAPD asked Waymo to shut down its app. The five cars were apparently worth $600,000.
Then there’s the scooters.
These scooters weigh around 40lbs.
The rioters burned lithium-ion batteries.
The LAPD warned: “Burning lithium-ion batteries release toxic gases, including hydrogen fluoride, posing risks to responders and those nearby.”

There are many challenges associated with fighting lithium/lithium-ion battery fires.
