Los Angeles County Official Appears to Call on Criminal Gangs to Attack Members of ICE

“Not for nothing, but I want to know where all the cholos are at in Los Angeles.”

Cynthia Gonzalez, the Democrat Vice Mayor of Cudahy, California, a city in southeast Los Angeles County, put out a video last week in which she appears to be calling on criminal gangs to attack members of ICE.

This is one of those situations where you suddenly realize that some of our country’s problems are worse than you thought they were.

FOX News reports:

LA County official allegedly urged gang members to defend territory from ICE, triggering FBI probe

A Los Angeles County official is allegedly being investigated by the FBI after she posted a video to social media calling on gang members to defend their territory from United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Cynthia Gonzalez, the vice mayor of Cudahy in southeast Los Angeles County, allegedly shared a video on social media late last week in which she appeared to encourage 18th Street and Florencia 13 gang members to protect their turf from ICE agents.

“Not for nothing, but I want to know where all the cholos are at in Los Angeles,” Gonzalez said in the video. “18th Street, Florencia — Where’s the leadership at? Because you guys are all about territory … You guys tag everything up — claiming hood. And now that your hood’s being invaded by the biggest gang there is, there ain’t a peep out of you.”

The Cudahy official then seemingly goes on to tell LA gang members they need to organize and help out with local resistance efforts against ICE.

“Don’t be trying to claim no block, no nothing,” Gonzalez said. “If you’re not showing up right now, trying to help out and organize, I don’t want to hear a peep out of you once they’re gone.”

Toward the end of the video, the LA County official even appears to urge the leaders of the LA street gangs to “get your f***ing members in order.”

According to the city government website, Gonzalez has a background in education:

She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California Santa Barbara. She earned two master’s degrees in education from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Educational Leadership Doctorate from UCLA’s ELP program. In addition to her degrees, she has also earned her administrative credentials from UCLA and UC Berkeley.

Councilwoman Dr. Gonzalez also serves as the Legislative Action Committee Chair for the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and is a member of the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles.

She has served LAUSD students and families since 2002 in the capacity of classroom teacher, Title I/Bilingual Coordinator, and School Principal in the communities of Southeast Los Angeles, South Central Los Angeles, Florence-Firestone, and Boyle Heights. She currently works as the Director of Pilot Schools Support and Innovation, supporting 40 Pilot Schools in LAUSD.

She didn’t “appear to…”. She DID.

Recargador1 | June 25, 2025 at 9:24 am

We’re bearing the fruits of open borders.
So if the gangs own the “hood”, cut off water and electricity. Let’s see how long they last….

“Not for nothing, but I want to know where all the cholos are at in Los Angeles.”

They are behind the preposition ‘at’ , bitch.

What are they “investigating”?

Is that her in the video? If the answer is yes (and I haven’t heard anyone denying that it was her), she incited violence against federal officers.

What’s left to investigate?

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Sailorcurt. | June 25, 2025 at 9:51 am

She will be monitored closely. You know: just like people who plant pressure cooker bombs at marathons and drive trucks into crowded plazas.

Milhouse in reply to Sailorcurt. | June 25, 2025 at 11:02 am

It’s not incitement. As you surely must know, the laws against incitement are only valid because “incitement” is defined very narrowly. Incitement is speech that is both (1) subjectively intended and (2) objectively likely to cause the audience to (3) imminently commit a crime. All three elements must be present, or it is not incitement but mere advocacy, and all advocacy is absolutely protected by the first amendment.

destroycommunism in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:17 am

but her position in the government should reside along the lines of “peace and tranquility”

      not advocating for violence

Sailorcurt in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:22 am

      “As you surely must know”

      Self-righteous much?

Sailorcurt in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:36 am

“the laws against incitement are only valid because “incitement” is defined very narrowly.”

Perhaps you need to explain that to the Democrats:

      https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/read-the-final-report-from-the-jan-6-committee

“The President of the United States inciting a mob to march on the Capitol and impede the work of Congress is not a scenario our intelligence and law enforcement communities envisioned for this country,” -Rep. Bennie Thompson

“The president of the United States incited an armed insurrection against America.” -Speaker Nancy Pelosi

“President Trump’s actions on January 6th incited an insurrection against the United States government, an attack on our Capitol, and an assault on the democratic process itself.” -Rep Jamie Raskin

“”What happened at the U.S. Capitol today was an insurrection against the United States, incited by the president.” -Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer

“”The president lit the fuse for this attack with his lies about the election and incited a violent mob to assault the Capitol in an effort to subvert our democracy.” -Rep Adam Schiff

“The president incited an insurrection against the United States of America. He must be impeached, removed, and barred from ever holding office again.” -Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

“We witnessed today an insurrection incited by the President of the United States, a direct attack on our democracy that we will never forget.” -Vice President Kamala Harris

      I could go on.

Sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander.

Milhouse in reply to Sailorcurt. | June 26, 2025 at 12:38 am

The Democrats know that very well. At least the lawyers among them do. The J6 committee was a political body making political statements. It was not a prosecutor, and didn’t and couldn’t bring criminal charges against anyone. And as a congressional committee, not only did it have the same ordinary first amendment protection that anyone else has, it was also protected by the speech and debate clause. So it felt free to say whatever it damn well felt like, whatever would catch the headlines, regardless of whether it made any legal sense. You can’t use that as a precedent to actually charge someone with actual crimes, let alone to lock them up.

mailman in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 12:08 pm

Her comments met those criteria, she WAS inciting the gangs to attack. Lock her up!

Milhouse in reply to mailman. | June 26, 2025 at 12:24 am

No they do not fit the criteria at all. This is settled law, so whoever arrested her would not have qualified immunity and she’d go after their pension.

      irishgladiator63 in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 12:38 pm

Looks like Criminal Solicitation more than incitement.

No, it’s not that either. Again, the first amendment comes first. Any law you find would have to pass that test before you could apply it.

CommoChief in reply to Sailorcurt. | June 25, 2025 at 3:03 pm

Incitement? ….Sedition is the best we can do. (in Rick’s voice from the pawnshop)

Milhouse in reply to CommoChief. | June 26, 2025 at 12:26 am

Nope. A law against sedition as you would have it would automatically be invalid. Look up the actual law, and it’s very narrowly defined, because that’s the only way it could be enacted at all.

Per Google, inciting violence can be a Federal crime. Are Patel and Bondi ever going to come out of hiding and do anything?

    Milhouse in reply to jb4. | June 25, 2025 at 11:03 am

Her post is not incitement, it is advocacy, which is protected speech.

destroycommunism in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:21 am

      reverse entrapment

she is using the cholos well known ( even by her own words) to do what they do

and chides them for not having already done so

like a mom urging her children to go fight the bullies…or else

      jb4 in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:38 am

But what if you can prove she knows that advocacy will result in violence? It certainly has on campuses with antisemitism. Should “the process is the punishment” be something only confined to Democrat use.

        Milhouse in reply to jb4. | June 26, 2025 at 12:32 am

It doesn’t matter what she knows. Even if the first two elements were met, which is dubious, there’s the third element, imminence.

      jhn1 in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:42 am

If her advice seems to be asserting retained soverenty over their territory, then birthright citizenship no longer applies.

        Milhouse in reply to jhn1. | June 26, 2025 at 12:31 am

Huh? That makes no sense whatsoever. She’s not asserting anything of the kind, but if she were it would have no legal effect on anything, and certainly not on anyone’s citizenship.

Her meaning is crystal clear, and you can’t pretend to miss it. The gangs constantly assert that their “territory” belongs to them, and they use violence to exclude rivals from it. So she’s challenging them to defend their territory from ICE the same way they defend it from the gang two streets over. And she says that if they don’t then let them never again assert that purported ownership.

Sailorcurt in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:43 am

      What, specifically, was she advocating?

Sounded to me like she was advocating for violent gang members to attack law enforcement.

If that’s not what it was, what was it and how does it differ from Trump advocating for his supporters to “march[ing] over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

Milhouse in reply to Sailorcurt. | June 26, 2025 at 12:35 am

She is entitled to advocate anything at all. There are no limits on pure advocacy. It is all absolutely protected.

Trump’s speech was clearly not incitement, which is why he was never charged with that. There was no way they could make such a charge out, so they didn’t even try.

      Recargador1 in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 11:45 am

On the Spanish news channels, she has stated that the FBI paid her a visit. She’s now claiming the she needs “¡Protecćion legal!”
      (Legal protection)
I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the wheels of justice grind out…

GWB in reply to Milhouse. | June 25, 2025 at 1:37 pm

Her post is not incitement, it is advocacy
Not according to Google’s standards, evidenced by their takedowns in other cases.

Milhouse in reply to GWB. | June 26, 2025 at 12:49 am

Google is not a legal authority. It is a private company enforcing its own standards that it is free to make up as it goes along.

1) She should receive a lifetime trespass warning from Ulta. That makeup borders on crimes to humanity.

2) How stupid do you have to be to physically attack a federal agent. The reason he/her has a firearm is that they are legally authorized to take your life violently if you sufficiently disobey their lawful orders.

3) Personally, I don’t think gang members are that stupid.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Peter Moss. | June 25, 2025 at 10:16 am

Regarding your third point: those gangs have been part of the Los Angeles area scene for many decades. They did not survive, and get to their level of power, by being stupid.

We have a Merle Norman Studio at the store where I work. Our consultant could do wonders for her; might even be able to make her look human…

2smartforlibs | June 25, 2025 at 10:04 am

Can we appear to have law enforcement have a chat with this idiot.

I hereby put forth a motion to make it a misdemeanor for any person to use the title “Doctor” unless the degree is in medicine or physics and a felony if in “Education”

At what point does it become our constitutional right to defend sovreignity?
I predict vigilante justice to increase fairly soon.

Yesterday in Santa Ana (about 25-miles southwest of Cudahy), police tried to make a routine arrest for public intoxication and then this happened….

https://x.com/Dapper_Det/status/1937569406692872622

…after regaining control of a situation that could have easily gotten out of hand (fatally), police ended up arresting 5 people. I suspect none of this would have happened if local/state politicians haven’t made an effort to normalize assaults on law enforcement. This is going to get worse before it gets better. Insurgencies always do.

So if the gang bangers aim fireworks at a phalanx of soldiers with rifles and are greeted by a volley of bullets, which of the soldiers would be held responsible for ensuing mayhem? I’m sure a lot of them would say “I shot over their heads”. How could they charge one individual while he was acting in a group? I think this or something like it happened at Kent State. Any how throwing crap at a well armed soldier is a high risk activity.

Being originally from SoCal this person is from a small city in SoCal that is very bad area full of illegals and gangs. I left SoCal after I finished college as I met my wife there and she was from NorCal and hated LA. We have family and friends in all parts of the state. Our parents are now dead, and many of our siblings have moved out of state but some still live in the state.

destroycommunism | June 25, 2025 at 10:55 am

governments all across america are being voted in to change the fundamentalism of america

from capitalism ( which will remain for those in power) to socialism for the masses

she is doing her job >>inciting that agenda

ignore at our own peril

destroycommunism | June 25, 2025 at 10:58 am

the city has allowed her to be employed

except if she had said we must maga and I love trump she thennnn could face troubles with her job

destroycommunism | June 25, 2025 at 10:59 am

wait until the cartels start to lob rockets over the border to help her!

destroycommunism | June 25, 2025 at 11:33 am

it is estimated that over 20% of all military personnel are related to gangs

so my guess would be at leat the same OR MORE in local police forces

in the event of trouble the response by the police HAS PROVEN in recent times to side with the blmplo street armies

so her call to the homies is no longer just an advocacy
as one might say if she didnt have the numbers to back her up

the police and the gangs work in conjunction with each other

THEY CALL THESE BY DIFFERENT NAMES depending on the city and its ( paid) programs…..

but make no mistake

there is really no more “blue line” as the REFUNDING of the police has been nothing more than another black (and brown) matriarchy welfare plan

Most incredibly, she keeps saying “your city,” Not even “our city.”
She wants THEM to do HER job for her..

allegedly shared a video
she appeared to encourage
That whole sentence is a LOT of wavering. I get the second part, as there might be some argument that she’s being sarcastic in taunting them (though I do not believe she is). But is there any question she made the video or that she (or one of her people) uploaded it? It reads like someone deathly afraid of a defamation suit.

now is the time to make a Courtesy Call to the gangs and let them know that SHE HAS NOW MADE IT A REASON TO “WATCH” THEM AND SHE IS TO BLAME FOR THAT!!

CHOLO THAT!!

E Howard Hunt | June 25, 2025 at 5:44 pm

Come, come people. Her makeup job alone forms the foundation for incitement to violence.

Cudahy is a small in-holding of 24,000 people just south of downtown Los Angles. It’s a enclave of 98% Hispanic folks, 42% of which are foreign born.

It’s a corrupt little fiefdom, only surpassed by it’s sleezy neighboring city, Maywood.
