Jake Sullivan: Biden’s Debate Performance ‘Was a Shock to Me’

Former President Joe Biden’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan played dumb when Politico’s Jack Blanchard asked him about the debate and cognitive decline:
SULLIVAN: What happened in that debate was a shock to me. I think it was a shock to everybody, and I’ve made that point before.
BLANCHARD :Just finally, do you think, in retrospect, given everything that’s happened, everything we’ve talked about today, was it a mistake for President Biden to try to run again?
SULLIVAN: One of the things about being national security advisor is that you’re mercifully insulated from politics and political decision making. I was insulated from it to the point where, while I was national security advisor, my spouse was running for Congress, and I had strict rules about what I could even do to support my spouse, let alone be involved in political decision making, political calls in the White House. So I have not weighed in on those issues and would not weigh on those issues.
Playing dumb does not make you or Biden look any better, Sullivan. You were Biden’s national security advisor.
The NSA job literally helps guide the president’s “decision-making on matters of homeland security, national defense, and foreign affairs.”
You literally work with the president. It is literally your job to work with the president.

Dems and the media were not shocked by this debate. They were fearful that the rest of America finally saw it. Poor Jake, if his nose gets any longer a forklift will be needed to get his head out of the building.

Sullivan continued, “And it never occurred to me that the murderous behavior of Muslims, which has been pretty consistent for 00s of years, might have something to do the various passages found in the Qur’an. I do now see how I might have missed some things.”
Remember, this guy had been the National Security Advisor.
If he was shocked at something everyone else had been seeing for years then it’s just another example of the incompetency of the Biden DEI Administration.

Yes. Tapper was shocked. He was shocked Biden did as well as he did, and he was shocked that Biden could last through the whole debate.
Biden’s debate performance was a shock to me too. I really didn’t believe he would do that well.
Calling Sullivan a liar is an insult to liars.
I thought only “Casablanca” had the sole comedy schtick on “shocked”.
He and his wife are both liars of the first order. I watched a debate between his wife and her opponent, and her opponent called her out on several big lies, to which she had no answer. Sullivan is a known liar and has been involved in so many devious plots against Trump that he has no credibility.
Jake Tapper may not be nearly as smart as he thinks he is, but you can’t convince me he’s as stupid as he claims to be.
Sullivan can’t be telling the truth about being shocked. He worked for Biden. Even those of us who only saw him a couple of times a week on television know Biden was mentally compromised at best. If Sullivan didn’t see it he either didn’t want to or is so stupid that he would drown if he ever tried to drool without a spotter. Or maybe, just maybe, he saw it and is now lying in hopes of having a career again someday.
His mission now, like that of other Dem political operatives, is to try to erase the stain from the MSM so that everyone forgets they ignored Biden’s condition and helped the Dems hide it from the public. But I think the only people who were fooled already still believe the MSM, so the task only makes people like Sullivan look bad. He’d probably be shocked to learn that.
Apparently, their shock is due to the fact that they didn’t mix his drug cocktail strong enough or something like that.
I suspect what they were using on Joe was dangerous and possibly illegal. They were afraid of getting caught and/or killing him with it. So they had to be very judicious about when they used it, because it was obvious there were times he was “on” and most of the time he was “off.”
The question is: Who decided to not dose him before the debate? Were they afraid a juiced Biden might make worst gaffs than the appearance provided by “clean” Biden? Were Joe’s handlers afraid the drugs might induce a medical emergency on live TV? (Note the debate was June 27, 2024, only days before Biden supposedly had a medical emergency, the occurrence of which was denied by officials and the media.)

It depends on the meaning of “Shocked.”
Jake you have this quaint thought that people believe you. We don’t and your fellow travelers do not either. You perpetuated a fraud on the American people. A thorough investigation might find that you exercised Presidential power in an illegal manor. If you were running the auto pen for Executive Orders or Pardons you could be facing felony charges. I would cheer your perp walk.
Tapper and Sullivan should play the leads in a Casablanca remake. So much Shock.
