Israeli Airstrikes ‘Obliterate’ Houthi’s Main Port After Missile Attack on Ben Gurion Airport
Jerusalem Post: “The Israel Air Force is undertaking a joint counter-strike of the Houthis in Yemen along with the US night following the ballistic missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday.”

Israel, on Monday evening, carried out retaliatory airstrikes on terrorist targets in Yemen after a Houthi missile hit Ben Gurion Airport over the weekend.
Israeli fighter jets struck multiple targets in and around the Houthi-held port city of Hodeidah. “The Israeli Air Force is attacking targets in Yemen this evening (Monday), in direct response to the strike on Ben Gurion Airport by a Houthi-launched ballistic missile yesterday,” the Israeli news website Arutz Sheva noted. “The attacks are aimed at the infrastructure of the Houthi organization, which operates as a proxy of Iran.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed hitting Houthi terrorist targets, primary the port of Hudaydah, the main transit point for Iranian weapons and supplies to the Yemen-based jihadist group.
At least 20 fighter jets took part in the strike against Houthi infrastructure, launching dozens of precision-guided munitions.

Some Israeli news outlets reported this as a ‘joint’ U.S.-Israeli operation. “The Israel Air Force is undertaking a joint counter-strike of the Houthis in Yemen along with the US night following the ballistic missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday,” The Jerusalem Post wrote. “Foreign reports are describing close to a dozen attack sites.”
Six Israelis were reportedly injured when a Houthi ballistic missile landed near the tarmac of Israel’s main international airport. Israel’s Arrow and U.S.-made THAAD air defense systems failed to intercept the ballistic missile, which the Houthis claimed was a ‘hypersonic’ projectile — based on technology provided by Iran.

Israeli news website YNET reported the details of the Israeli counter-strike:
Israel on Monday attacked Houthi targets in Yemen, a day after a missile fired by the rebel group crashed near Ben Gurion Airport. A security source said that over 50 types of munitions were used in the attack, a joint operation with the U.S., adding that the port of Hodeidah has been “obliterated.”
The strike signals a shift in Israeli strategy toward the Houthis, after months of restraint despite near-daily missile attacks, opting instead to let Washington continue its air campaign on the group instead. (…)
Sunday’s launch marks the fifth such attack in two days as the Iran-backed terror group ramps up its campaign against Israel. U.S. operations in Yemen continue, though they currently remain limited to airstrikes targeting Houthi positions.

The strike was conducted in response to the repeated attacks by the Houthis against Israel, during which surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs were launched toward Israeli civilians.

Israel acknowledged hitting terrorist sites in Yemen, while the Houthis claimed being hit by a U.S.-Israel strike. “Israeli officials confirm that the Israeli Air Force is carrying out strikes in Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah,” The Times of Israel disclosed. “Shortly before the Israeli strikes, media in Yemen reported strikes carried out by the US near the capital, Sanaa.”
The counter-strikes come after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Sunday, vowed to strike back at Houthi jihadists and “their Iranian terror masters.” Israel’s retaliation “will not happen in one bang, but there will be many bangs,” he added.

This is good practice. Corrections to an animal need to be made immediately after the offense, otherwise the animal fails to associate the correction with its bad behavior.
The problem Henry is they waited until a missile actually hit. What they should be doing is launching a raid of this size against both Yemen and Iran for each missile launched. This is regardless of whether the missile hits or not, That would send an appropriate message.
Good on ’em!
I hope the strikes close the port for a looooong time.
Not enough.
It looks like the terrorists are having an fafo moment
Bah.
It also looks like the Drive-by Downticker is making the rounds.
JR has been busy.
This is going to go on and on and on, until we remove the head of the beast located in Teran.
It’s Tehran although I too had to look up the spelling to make sure I got it right. The head might actually be located in Qom, a city always described as significant to Shia islam.
It’s a hydra, honestly.
I hope that the spelling will one day be corrected to “O-B-L-I-T-E-R-A-T-E-D”.
And we need to do it before they get the bomb
Well, every FA should meet its FO. You reap what you sow.
At a certain point, a more than proportionate response is necessary. Otherwise, the Houthis’ repeated behavior makes it appear as if they are in control (even though their behavior results in a retaliatory spanking that they sadistically accept). They need more than a spanking; they need to be quashed.
Didn’t mean to down rate your post. Sorry about that. There seems to be no way to correct a rating.
I don’t believe in proportionate responses. Their stupid and always championed by clowns with no skin in the game. The US has mostly done that for years and frequently been worthless.
The only acceptable response is an overwhelming response. Nothing else ever makes sense. The response should be massive and carved into the genes of the recipients for at least 10 generations. It should be big enough so that In the future even stray thoughts should trigger panic attacks in their descendants.
I want Israel to crush the Houthis, see them driven before them, and to hear the lamentation of their women!
This is called “The Ender’s Game Response.” It is the ONLY appropriate response to an attack. Know your enemy, and use that knowledge to destroy them so thoroughly that they can NEVER attack you again.
There should NEVER be a consideration of what is “proportional.”
Israel is once again doing what the rest of the feckless and emasculated west lacks the gumption and moral clarity to do — take on Islamofascism and Muslim terrorism directly, without hesitation or equivocation.
