HHS Cancels $60 Million in Grants To Harvard Over Antisemitism
Last week, HHS canceled $450 million due to Harvard’s inaction against antisemitism.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) pulled another $60 million in grants from Harvard over antisemitism.
The Daily Caller reported on the May 19 letter from HHS to the Ivy League school:
The letter cites the findings of the Harvard Presidential Task Force on Combating Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias, which concluded in an April 2025 report that some instructors had “mainstreamed and normalized what many Jewish and Israeli students experience as antisemitism and anti-Israeli bias.”
“We are deeply concerned that these forms of bigotry are becoming increasingly normalized in academia, particularly within what seem to be highly politicized disciplines such as public health, medicine, and education,” the report states.
Granting CDC funding to an institution the administration views as discriminatory would be inconsistent with the federal agency’s mission, Jamie Legier, CDC’s chief grants management official, said in the May 19 letter.
“Grant dollars should only support institutions that comply with principles and laws of nondiscrimination,” Legier writes.
Legier accused Harvard of having an environment that does not “foster safe, equal, and healthy working and learning conditions conducive to high-quality research and free inquiry.”
The environment conflicts with the CDC’s mission to champion “the very best of American public health practice.”

Earlier this month, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon told Harvard that it should stop applying for grants because the school would not receive any.
“Harvard will cease to be a publicly funded institution, and can instead operate as a privately-funded institution, drawing on its colossal endowment, and raising money from its large base of wealthy alumni,” wrote McMahon. “You have an approximately $53 Billion head start, much of which was made possible by the fact that you are living within the walls of, and benefiting from, the prosperity secured by the United States of America and its free-market system you teach your students to despise.”
President Donald Trump has already canceled billions in grants to Harvard.
Harvard sued the Trump administration over that freeze.

Gee. How much more money are they still getting? Is this a death of a 1000 cuts?
I saw a month or so ago that the total dollar amount given to Harvard by the government as grants, etc. in 2024 was about $9 B.
What it sounds like to me is that they should cut the amount of money that Harvard gets from the US government to zero until Harvard wants to prove that they’re not a bunch of bigots.
Also make Harvard repay three times all the federal funds it has received after falsely certifying that it does not discriminate on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, etc:

Indeed, last week the NYT reported that Harvard had received a letter from DoJ advising that DoJ has opened a False Claims Act investigation into Harvard, which perhaps indicates that a FCA qui tam suit has already been filed under seal and DoJ is preparing to take over the case.
In fact, on Monday the DoJ announced that it would be gearing up a new department to bring such False Claims Act cases against any recipient of federal funds that violates civil rights laws, and, as I hoped they would, is strongly encouraging whistleblowers to do so as well:

Pass the popcorn . . . woke academia is about to get creamed.
Harvard appears to be systemically unreformable:

They also benefit as a tax free entity in MA. That should stop, but it’s MA, Jake.
Harvard seems to be unnecessarily invested in antisemitism and racism.
