David Axelrod Says Talk of Biden Mental Decline Should be ‘Set Aside’ After Cancer Diagnosis

CNN contributor and former Obama campaign manager David Axelrod reacted to the news of Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis by suggesting that talk of his mental decline and the attached scandal should be muted and ‘set aside.’
How about no?
A deeply cynical person might think that this diagnosis was announced when it was, specifically for this purpose. If Democrats don’t want people to think that might be true, these comments from Axelrod certainly don’t help.

Political strategist David Axelrod on Sunday said discussions about President Biden’s mental acuity and whether he should have exited last year’s presidential race sooner should be “set aside” as the former president deals with a prostate cancer diagnosis.
“I think those kinds of discussions are going to happen, but they should be more muted and set aside for now as he’s sort of struggling through this,” Axelrod said on CNN not long after the news about Biden circulated.
Biden, 82, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, his office announced Sunday. The diagnosis comes after a regular medical exam found a “small nodule” on his prostate earlier this month. The finding “necessitated further evaluation,” a spokesperson said.
The news dropped as the former president has come under more and more criticism for the Democrats’ loss to President Trump in November’s presidential election.

Democrats have made it quite clear that they would love nothing more than to move on from the Biden mental decline scandal, but they must not be allowed to do so, same goes for the media.
This was the biggest political scandal of our times. Joe Biden’s condition, no matter how harsh, changes nothing and no one is ‘setting aside’ a thing.

Even if the timing of releasing the news of Joe Biden having late stage prostrate cancer was not a cynical ploy – given Biden’s now universally acknowledged mental decline – he’s shouldn’t be the one under the gun for not sharing the news of his mental decline with the public or covering it up.

I’m a 76 year old prostate cancer survivor, having gone through prostate removal, radiation therapy and n0w daily pill treatment. It’s a slow growing cancer and there’s NO WAY a President’s caregivers didn’t know about it years before it was allowed to metastasize. So,. this poor helpless guy was used as a puppet President while his “loving” caregivers were ignoring prostate cancer, allowing it to metastasize into his bones. This is OUTAGEOUS.

I can’t think of any real reason I should believe anything ANYTHING that has to do with Joe Biden. I am that cynical.

My unpopular opinion – and it may very well be flat wrong – is that Biden really did not know he had prostate cancer.
If he had been diagnosed, then surely he’d have been treated for it. And once he’s in treatment, the number of people in the conspiracy required to keep it quiet expands exponentially. And then it would have leaked.
Again, it’s just my opinion and I may be wrong. Maybe his extended family did not tell a soul. And maybe his closest aides did not tell a soul. Unlikely, but I suppose it’s possible. But all the healthcare providers? The pharmacists? Therapists? I’m not sure that so many people with knowledge could have kept quiet.
