Conservative Activist Robby Starbuck Suing Meta After Their AI Falsely Labels Him as an Extremist and J6er

“Meta suggested that MY KIDS BE TAKEN FROM ME because it would be better for them to be raised by someone more friendly to DEI and transgenderism.”

If you spend any time on Twitter/X, you may know Robby Starbuck as the conservative filmmaker and activist who has successfully gone after DEI policies in corporate America.

Starbuck is now suing Meta, the owner of Facebook and other social media properties, because their artificial intelligence product has labeled him as an extremist and falsely claimed that he was at the January 6th riot at the Capitol Building.

From the FOX Business Network:

Robby Starbuck sues Meta, claiming AI chatbot defamed him

Starbuck alleged that the Meta chatbot falsely accused him of being a “white nationalist” who was arrested on Jan. 6 and has been sued for defamation. The suit filed in the Delaware Superior Court claims the chatbot recommended that the right-wing influencer lose custody of his children, saying he was a danger to them.

“Mr. Starbuck was stunned to learn that Meta AI had created these false and damaging accusations about him out of whole cloth, and that it was asserting these claims to Meta AI users as fact,” the lawsuit filed Tuesday claims.

The anti-DEI crusader first became aware of the AI chatbot’s alleged distortions of his record on Aug. 5, 2024, when an X user posted them in a screenshot. The suit says the chatbot falsely claimed Starbuck, in addition to being present at the Jan. 6 riot, was linked to the QAnon conspiracy group and was anti-vaccine.

The implications of this case are kind of scary. The very idea that this could happen to someone is outrageous.

Starbuck wrote on Twitter/X:

Today I’m announcing a major multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit against @Meta, the owner of @Facebook & @Instagram.

The case is WILD and has implications for ALL OF US. On top of falsely calling me a criminal, Meta suggested my kids be taken from me.

Here’s a summary of events:

This all started with Meta’s AI falsely claiming that I was charged with a crime from January 6th but… I wasn’t even in DC that day (I was in TN) and I’ve never been charged with a crime IN MY LIFE.

We found this out in August of 2024 when I was exposing woke policies at Harley Davidson. One dealership was unhappy with me and they posted a screenshot from Meta’s AI in an effort to attack me. This screenshot was filled with lies. I couldn’t believe it was real so I checked myself. It was even worse when I checked.

From that day I’ve faced a steady stream of false accusations that are deeply damaging to my character and the safety of my family.

This sounds bad, right? It gets MUCH worse. Meta was notified LAST YEAR by my lawyers, yet the defamation continues today.

Some lies Meta spread about me:

• Meta’s AI claims that I’ve appeared on Nick Fuentes show, that I’ve spoken at his rallies, and that I’ve supported him. I’ve never met him and this is all false.

• Meta’s AI claims I’ve engaged in Holocaust denial. I’ve NEVER denied the Holocaust.

• Meta’s AI tells advertisers NOT to advertise with me because of the lies it invented.

• Meta tells employers NOT to hire me because of the lies it invented.

• Meta suggested that MY KIDS BE TAKEN FROM ME because it would be better for them to be raised by someone more friendly to DEI and transgenderism.

• Meta’s ironically claimed that I’ve been sued for DEFAMATION and EMOTIONAL DISTRESS. I’ve never been sued for either.

The video below is about 20 minutes long, but I recommend watching the whole thing. There is a segment where he is talking directly with the AI product that will blow your mind:

Joel Kaplan, an official with Meta, responded to Starbuck:

Isn’t it odd how these mistakes always seem to go in only one direction?

Needs to be multi billion dollars, otherwise it’s just pocket change to Meta.

Hopefully, he doesn’t find himself before a woke court.

they really need to change the defamation laws. you don’t want frivolous law suits but the bar for conviction is too high. its hard to prove malice.

they especially need to changes the laws for the press. the press has a lot of freedom because of the first amendment but it shouldn’t be able to libel someone and this happens all the time. it’s just hard to bring a case and prove it, Make it easier and more straightforward and the press will have to do a better job sourcing their stories.

Bring back dueling with social pariah status for those who refuse to either apologize and compensate or engage in the duel. Make.them a social pariah, ban Fed funds for any entity that hires them.

If the voice over actor for Captain Crunch fails the above then it gets pulled from the shelves of DoD Commissary, banned from EBT …along with its owner Quaker Oats and all its products and of.course PepsiCo and all its products/companies which owns Quaker Oats. Make it hurt and folks will eventually learn the lesson.

And now you know why Artificial Intelligence is a pathetic lie.

The only way AI produces these results is through human interventions. Find who did it and prosecute them. It’s the o ly way to stop it. My guess is Meta should look internally.

It may be programmed to look for consensus opinion. Because the human-run media is so full of lies, and Meta’s AI is almost certainly plugged into many such sources (if not all), it may be interpreting consensus (derived from liars) as truth.* AI is a new-fangled GIGO machine.

*I’m sure it’s more complex than this, and takes some human intervention to make the AI incapable of effectively incapable of sorting truth from fact (if that’s what’s happening). But with so much of the media and blogosphere being in their own bubbles, should the AI creator not plug into them? Who would make the decision concerning what source AI should monitor and what sources it should ignore?

I had no idea that Dennis Prager had fallen off a ladder, of course, and is paralyzed from the neck down

When I read this, I wondered if the “Meta chatbot” had any relation to the “Chinese Founding Fathers, Black Vikings, and Female Popes” AI.
Nope, Meta is Facebook/Youtube, and the woke one is Google.
