Yale Anti-Israel Activists Blockade Campus, Hurl Bottles at Israeli Official

Yale Anti-Israel Activists Blockade Campus, Hurl Bottles at Israeli Official

“Concerns have been raised about disturbing antisemitic conduct at the gathering. The university is investigating those concerns, as harassment and discrimination are antithetical to learning and scholarship.”

Yale University has derecognized its campus chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine after a protest that involved blocking the movement of Jewish students on campus and the assault of an Israeli official.

This poisonous ideology has become a stain on American higher education, particularly in the Ivy League.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Yale Derecognizes Students for Justice in Palestine Chapter After Group Blocks Jewish Students’ Access to Parts of Campus

Yale University stripped the school’s Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter, Yalies4Palestine, of its status as a recognized student group on Wednesday after it established a short-lived encampment. The decision may give insight into how Yale president Maurie McInnis, who called the police to arrest student protesters in her last job, will combat anti-Israel agitators at the Ivy League university.

In a Wednesday afternoon statement, Yale revealed that university staff had warned Yalies4Palestine the day before the encampment that “further violations would jeopardize the group’s privileges” during a meeting about prior infractions. The encampment, the statement said, violated Yale’s “time, place, and manner policies.” It also pointed to “disturbing antisemitic conduct at the gathering,” which may refer to video of anti-Israel agitators blocking Jewish students from accessing campus space.

“Because Yalies4Palestine has flagrantly violated the rules to which the Yale College Dean’s Office holds all registered student organizations, Yale College today notified Yalies4Palestine that the College is withdrawing its status as a registered student organization,” the university wrote in a statement. “Concerns have been raised about disturbing antisemitic conduct at the gathering. The university is investigating those concerns, as harassment and discrimination are antithetical to learning and scholarship. Yale condemns antisemitism and will hold those who violate our policies accountable through our disciplinary processes.”

This is a disgusting display. The mindless chants make it even worse.

At some point, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was assaulted with bottles.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

WATCH: Pro-Palestinian protesters throw water bottles at Ben-Gvir after Yale speech

Pro-Palestinian protesters threw water bottles at National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir as he was leaving Yale University on Thursday, according to an official statement from his office.

Protesters attempted to throw the water bottles at Ben-Gvir after the completion of his speech at the university, and Ben-Gvir refused to leave the area, making a “victory gesture” toward them, which can be seen in footage from the incident.

“As the minister was leaving [his speech], hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters were waiting for him, throwing water bottles at the minister and his entourage. The minister signaled V towards the protesters, and he was not harmed,” the statement added.

I’ll leave you with these recommendations from Chris Rufo.

Listen: you can hear the Yale Administration all singing:

Yale, Yale, the Intifada gang’s all here
But what the heck do we care? What the heck do we care?

My God, what has happened to this country?

I really think there has been a change at the top at Yale. I am willing to see how they react, and if FedGov steps in with necessary help. (Probably New Haven and Connecticut will be no help at all.) The last Yale president was a disaster, giving rise to the whole ideology that supported “shrieking girl”, leftwing deans in many departments and schools, etc. Restoring Yale will take effort and time, but McGinnis might be the right person for the job.

There is no right to block access, or disregard lawful orders.

To the universities allowing this conduct: Grow a pair. Expel the students, deny tenure to the instructors, and fire the staff members doing these things. Arrest and prosecute the non students. Enforce trespass against any and all involved in the violence. You’ll be amazed at how quiet your campuses will be.

Because Yalies4Palestine has flagrantly violated the rules to which the Yale College Dean’s Office holds all registered student organizations, Yale College today notified Yalies4Palestine that the College is withdrawing its status as a registered student organization,” the university wrote in a statement.

Ok, that’s good, And will the Yale administration also be banning the Talies4Palestine organization from the Yale campus? Because I can’t but help think that this isn’t going to change one thing with this group and they’ll continue to disrupt the Yale campus even as a non-recognized student organization.

The Free Beacon article also reported that Yale staff *has* identified some of those involved as being Yale students, and given them notice of disciplinary proceedings.

That will be the acid test of whether or not Yale takes this issue seriously, or decides to be the next pinata for the Trump administration. If those involved are promptly suspended or expelled, it’s the former. Otherwise, it’s the latter.

You can stop supporting an organization. You probably cannot restrict their freedom of assembly unless they’re designated as terrorism or organized crime, and we’re not there yet but we should be gathering evidence related to such designations.

And the students individually are facing university discipline. So far the university seems to be reacting well, may it continue.

Perhaps, unless as you mentioned there is organized criminal activity. Which they certainly approach. Protest is and should be legal. Assault and battery is not. Verbal physical threats and throwing objects meet those criteria

Take the masks off these anti Semites. How are these cowards allowed to wear them? If it means this much to you to be an Anti Semitic piece of garbage, take the masks off and show your faces!! Expulsions, deportations where possible, immediate enforcement actions! Enough is enough!

BigRosieGreenbaum | April 24, 2025 at 10:35 am

How about no taxpayer funds for any of these ivy leagues? They don’t need it.

“No taxpayer funds” is not enough. These have to be Federal covil rights violations (as well as attacking a foreign official). If correct, AG Bondi needs to get off her ass and have these people arrested and prosecuted. THAT would change behavior.

    artichoke in reply to jb4. | April 24, 2025 at 2:56 pm

Yes I want to see Bondi do something here. President McGinnis so far has done the right things and may have the right intentions, but she needs help from non-university law enforcement.

the anti israel crowd is backed by the formidable blm..plo so this presents the *problem* to the universities

they secretly want trump to sweep out these pos…so the newest neil young can write another song/LIE calling it (nixon) trumps fault

artichoke in reply to destroycommunism. | April 24, 2025 at 2:53 pm

and there’s little choice. Nixon wasn’t overthrown by a popular movement but by an insurrection within Congress and the press, called Watergate. (It was way overblown, and Nixon had just been reelected with 49 states, a true landslide.)

Let them write their weepy songs. It’s a new and decidedly non-hippie-like generation now.

Besides withhholding government funds from non-compliant universities, Trump should follow through with his threat to revoke the their tax exempt status.

There’s the template from his letter to Harvard. He can send a similar letter to Yale, Columbia etc. All three schools have new presidents who are better than the ones before, well we’ll see in the case of Columbia how Claire Shipman is but at least she knows what got her predecessors fired.

“Blockade”? Sounds practically insurrection-y.

Yale is treating terroristic behavior as if it were a just another fraternity keg party run amok – with one difference – university police would immediately break up the keg party and arrest the belligerent party goers.

Notice the predominance of women in the crowd. F the Matriarchy!

As the article notes, Yale is finally rid of president Salovey and has a new president McGinnis. She has a lot of work to do. Yale isn’t the same place it was when she was in grad school there, and it had problems then too.

I don’t know what these pro-Palestinian punks think they are accomplishing with these demonstrations, but I do hope they are identified and punished so the message is that they had better stop to avoid additional personal cost. What they did goes way beyond protected speech, so members of the campus community including students and Mr. Ben-Gvir had their constitutional rights violated (which apply to non-citizens as well, as we know).

“Ben-Gvir refused to leave the area, making a “victory gesture” toward them”
Palm in or out?
(Seriously, I can’t make out anything in that video.)

Throwing bottles at PEOPLE of any kind is assault., Identify and arrestt/charge them. If students, expell. If foreigners, send them back to froim where they came.

DO this consistently and peace will return to the campus.

Also ban the wearing of masks in public spaces. Then enforce it.
