It’s amazing to see this type of behavior causing very real consequences. It absolutely needed to happen.

Campus Reform reports:

Trump administration revokes visas from 37 Johns Hopkins students for pro-Hamas activism

37 international students who attend Johns Hopkins University have had their student visas revoked amid the Trump administration’s removal of allegedly pro-Hamas protesters.

The university confirmed the revocations in a statement to CBS News, but stated that it had not been given specific reasons by the federal government.

“We have received no information about the specific basis for the terminations, but we have no indication that they are associated with free expression activities on campus,” a university statement reads. “While terminations require students to depart the United States, we are not aware of any arrests or detentions of Johns Hopkins students as a result of these visa actions.”

15 percent of Johns Hopkins first-years are international students, according to the university website.

One international student accused the federal government of being an “authoritarian regime” for revoking visas, according to CBS News.

37 is the first specific number that the university administration has disclosed to the press. Earlier this month, Johns Hopkins said that “approximately a dozen” student visas had been revoked, signalling a significant recent increase, as noted by The Baltimore Banner.

Johns Hopkins announced on April 11 that it will launch a “new virtual briefing series” to update faculty and students about federal directives, including “immigration enforcement activities.” The series began on April 15, the university stated.

I wonder what the reaction of the citizens or government in that international student’s home country would be to Americans getting involved in local politics. Those Americans would probably be called “imperialists.”

When I worked in Latin America, I stayed out of local politics. One American who did NOT stay out of local politics was Lori Berenson. She received a 20 year jail sentence in Peru for assisting a terrorist group. Most Peruvians approved of her sentence.

Very simple rule of thumb: if you are not a citizen of the country where you reside, stay out of politics. It’s not your country.

What a twat. If you think this country has an authoritarian government why would you want to go to school here? Leave and go to a country whose government meets your standards.

Why is 15% of the freshman class foreigners? It should be less than 5%.

I think it’s probably because, unlike US students, they pay full tuition. While probably improving diversity!

Only thing that would make this story perfect would be if he were a podiatry major.

I like the cooperative tone from JHU. It may be because they’re scared to death, and since that’s what it will take to get universities to cooperate, that’s fine. Whatever works.

Kudos to JHU for this.
