Report: DNC Chair Expected to Crack Down on David Hogg Over Primaries

Maybe don’t put someone like Hogg in a prominent position!

I usually don’t like stories originating from “a person directly familiar with the plan,” but this one in Politico appears believable.

A person told Politico that Democratic National Committee member Ken Martin would likely bring down the hammer on DNC Vice Chair David Hogg regarding his behavior towards the primaries.

The proposal will force DNC officers to “stay neutral in all Democrat primaries.”

Last week, Hogg, who used the deaths of his classmates to land a spot on the national stage, said he wants to spend $20 million to oust older Democrat lawmakers.

If the DNC passes the proposal, Hogg will have to shut up and step in line or go to his little group he established to take down the elder Democrats.

Hogg’s announcement drew fury from many House Democrats who could not believe someone in the DNC leadership would cause another schism at a time when the party is in shambles.

This is Hogg. What the heck did you people expect? This dude only cares about himself. Someone wasn’t told “no” enough when growing up.

“What a disappointment from leadership,” Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-MI) told Axios. “I can think of a million better things to do with twenty million dollars right now.”

Scholten represents a swing-district. Hogg would likely target her seat.

Hogg will have plenty of time to choose since the DNC won’t vote on proposals until August.

I’m grabbing more popcorn.

David Hogg is a nightmare for Dems and the left.

He will hurt them.

Why are our sites and publications trying to warn them?

hogg is doing the right thing by his communist loving agenda

they are now upfront about it while the old guard lefties want to keep them and their rino pigs working together with the SAME agenda to turn america over to the haters of maga

Agree. IMO AOC could beat Schumer for his Senate seat, if the Presidential or VP route does not work out. “Winning isn’t everything; it’s the only thing.”

In theory this could force David Hogg out because of his PAC activities. In practice, Democrats are gonna Democrat.

Yeah, I don’t see the value add for d/prog in staging an internal fight about their fundraising activities and airing all their campaign finance dirty laundry. Hogg is pretty emblematic of the younger d/prog base. The refusal by geriatric d/prog leaders and office holders to step aside is incredibly frustrating to these younger, woke d/prog who always seem to believe that they lose any election b/c they weren’t radical enough in the campaign. Same for the members in purple CD and swing States who are previewed too cautious or too moderate, not ‘pure’ enough in their voting. The latter is similar to how some on the center/right want an office holder in Biden +2 CD or swing State to be as full tilt MAGA as a member representing a Trump +25 CD. Not the same electorate.

Whatever. All these Democrat youngbloods appear to be morons as well as dedicated Marxist zealots (actually, I think they’re merely narcissists who find their road to adulation leads far left).

The only thing he’s wrong about in this case is wanting to spend $20 million to do it

Putting these fossils out to pasture is free if you really try

Hogg was definitely not spanked as a child. It is still not too late. Martin should spank him good. Looking at Hogg he’d probably enjoy it.

Just like everything else the democrat party plans and tries to do it never seems to work out for them. They gave little Davey Hogg the “Vice Chairmen” position thinking that it would increase their popularity (for whatever reason) but it turns out that he’s more of a problem than an asset.

Going to be quite fun seeing what Little Davey Hogg does when he realizes he’s being cut out of the loop.

In the immortal words of the late great Gene Hackman in Mississippi Burning, “The rattlesnakes are starting to commit suicide.”

The Dems let the nuts into the tent a few years back to attack Trump. The Squad was just the beginning and now they can’t control them. Reap what you sow.

He is clearly a legend in his own mind.

It really is a toss-up what to do with him. On one hand, someone like him in power is dangerous, but on the other, he is so stupid and incompetent that leaving him in power will very likely leave a serious wake of destruction in his path. How long until he and AOC start to date and become the new power couple in DC?

Just keep in mind how this dude acts towards his elders and you begin to appreciate how much many of the Millennials and younger despise Boomer/Silent Gen. Then apply that to SSA/Medicare funding and other benefits that apply to older generations even ones not directly based on age like home ownership or ones impacting younger generations like Student loans and a Logan’s Run sort of solution to fiscal issues becomes more probable than most appreciate.

I’m a boomer. I was forced… forced to pay into SS and medicare my entire life. I had no choice and used to get into arguments with my father about those programs. I wanted to opt out but couldn’t. Now that I can finally collect I’ll say to any millennial upset about these programs “F off. I was forced to pay. I want my money/benefits as promised. End of discussion”.

CommoChief in reply to ztakddot. | April 25, 2025 at 1:27 pm

Good luck collecting the benefits in a decade +/-. The benefits are paid by current workers and redemption of ‘bonds’ (special not marketable) from general Treasury to SSA/Medicare Trust funds.

In a decade +/- ALL the bonds will have been redeemed. The ‘IOU’ from general Treasury to the Trust Fund will have ALL been paid back with interest and exhausted in paying benefits. At that point the projection is a cash flow from SSA taxes to fund roughly 75% of benefits.

My generation,.Gen X, was the first to pay the increased current levels of SSI/Medicare taxes our entire adult working lives, in my case from age 16 so you don’t get any sympathy about forced payments b/c.we.had it even worse. The younger generations by and large despise Boomers/Silent Gen. They are not willing to pay more in taxes to support SSA benefits for y’all. IMO, these Millennials and younger generations are far more likely to ‘pull the plug’ on y’all. Fair warning.

I lose track of generations. Isn’t Hogg actually an atypically Marxist member of the generation whose males have swung unexpectedly rightward? Or is he over the line?

CommoChief in reply to henrybowman. | April 25, 2025 at 1:50 pm

        Gen X = 1965-80
        Gen Y = 1981-1996 (Millennials)
        Gen Z = 1997-2012
        Gen A = 2013- current

Gen X grew up as latch key kids in the Reagan/Bush era and are by and large center/right with strong dash of libertarian. We generally don’t care what you do as long as it doesn’t interfere with our own lives.

Millennials, this is Hogg, were influenced more by Clinton era and mistakes of GWOT under Bush and Obama tend to be more center/left and more woke and kinda Karen ish in demanding conformity to their views….much like Boomers. These guys have a large % of the $1.6 Trillion in student loan debt.

Gen Z was the gen blasted by Covid Mania that shut down their schools. These guys are more like Gen X and are much more center/right to libertarian with an anti authority bias developed from the stupidity of bureaucracy in Covid that directly impacted them. These are the under 27 voting for Trump. The leading edge of Gen A will probably be the same.

Generalizations about generational cohorts but that pretty well reflects the agreed perceptions of these generations and my own personal observations/experiences. My Daughter is Gen Z and she has very libertarian views coupled with very Darwinian views about the consequences of dumbass behavior/lack of planning. She’d be ok with zero government Social Safety Net and a return to a Dickensian sort of solution where folks can either rise to the top or drown in a gutter and charity to the ‘less fortunate’ is a matter of choice not gov’t coercion. Me too foe that matter.

Me thinks Hogg’s gerbil is rabid.

“The proposal will force DNC officers to “stay neutral in all Democrat primaries.”
Hell, yeah.
Just like they did for Kamala over Biden.
And Biden over Bernie.
And Hillary over Bernie.
But those were “elite defenders of Democracy,” not an adolescent dilettante.
Look at that lead photo.
I clearly see a premature Bosley membership in this boy’s future.

When I first read Hogg talking about his being considered for the position, I naturally laughed.
Imagine my laughter when it proved to be true!

So, Hogg wants to “Soylent Green” older Donk pols, and may be buying himself a $20M ticket out trying to do it. What’s not to like?
