Rep. Raskin Threatens Countries That Cooperate With Trump

Rep. Raskin Threatens Countries That Cooperate With Trump

I remember the left flipped out when President Donald Trump told countries they would be rewarded for cooperating. If not, well, retaliation!

Trump is the president. He, like most of us, is tired of countries taking advantage of us.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a man with a long case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, threatened countries that cooperate with Trump when the Democrats take back power:

It’s a complement to something that we need to be doing right now, which is engaging in far more work of transnational democratic solidarity with the democratic governments and the democratic movements and peoples and parties of the world to try to prevent the spread of the lawlessness in the fascist chaos that’s been unleashed against us

Implicit in that should be the idea that if and when we come back to power, and we will, we are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated, to use a word of the day, who facilitated authoritarianism in our country.

Raskin has already threatened Trump with impeachment. Elon Musk has staged a coup!

Before the election, Raskin dropped the idea of Congress disqualifying Trump if he won.

Now he’s accusing countries of fueling supposed authoritarianism in America? How much do you want to bet he’s talking about El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, who has worked with Trump to take in violent Venezuelan gang members?

This is the kind of stuff out of a futuristic novel. This can’t happen in the real world.

What? You mean it did? Well I’ll be. Pigs can fly.

Ayn Rand was the first to depict where “democracy” will take society when presented as a sweet lie.

When Dems take back power, Raskin is excessively optimistic, he should be thinking about when he is charged. I don’t have specifics, it is virtually certain that he will receive close scrutiny and be found dirty.

Does El Salvador have rendition squads?
Perhaps we could help them with that.

This is why political violence is on the rise in this country. Because of scumbags like Raskin

Johnson needs to do something about this wise guy. He should not be permitted to be a ranking member of any committee, in fact, strip him of any and all responsibilities.

Then, fund someone to primary him.

“Implicit in that should be the idea that if and when we come back to power, and we will, we are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated, to use a word of the day, who facilitated authoritarianism in our country.”

Careful, Jamie. It would suck if you were subjected to that same standard. /sarc

Raskin is a red liberal idiot. Let him talk.

The good Congressman never had cancer. He used the ruse to cover the re-landscaping of his scalp under his dew rag.

Can anyone say Logan Act violation

Can anyone say the rigged courts would just find a reason, any reason no matter how implausible or nonsensical, to dismiss the case against Raskin or any other Representative who might be indicted under the Logan Act?

He’s a sitting congressman, and I think the Logan Act applies only to us plebes. Furthermore he has speech and debate privilege for anything he says on the House floor at least.

Our legislators have way too many protections. They should not be protected more than we are.

      Then how about “treason”?

Raskin has no authority to do much of anything besides change Biden’s diapers. However its not as if he negotiated anything. If they weren’t going to charge Ted Kennedy or Jimmy Carter for their actions they’re not going to charge this nonentity,

JackinSilverSpring in reply to [email protected]. | April 21, 2025 at 3:00 pm

    Can anyone say treason?

It is a Logan Act violation, but the Logan Act is not enforceable; no prosecutor has tried to use it, because the first time it’s trotted out in court it will probably be struck down. So long as it’s never brought before a court it can remain on the books, and prosecutors find it more useful that way. For instance the outgoing 0bama administration used it as the pretext to investigate the incoming Trump administration; it couldn’t have done that if it had already been struck down.

About time we started cracking down on these zeros. The rules apply to them.

If Trump was really the fascist and authoritarian that the dems say he is, the dems will never be in power again. Just goes to show that dems don’t believe their own crap.

TopSecret in reply to EdReynolds. | April 21, 2025 at 9:32 pm

They forget that Trump was already in charge once and none of the doom and gloom they proclaimed came to pass. In fact, we prospered until he started holding China accountable and China got a little too uncomfortable.

Maybe instead of doing Prison Mike cosplay he should do real time for aiding and abetting our enemies.

Give me one minute in a room with this doo rag wearing f*cktard.

MontCo – Says it all and whole lot more.

Sounds kinda treasony.

In the race for most despicable democrat Raskin is a front runner.

McGehee 🇺🇲 | April 21, 2025 at 1:42 pm

Raskin’s mouth keeps writing checks hid tuckus can’t cash.

Put on your bandana when you talk bog Raskin…it makes you look tougher.

His son’s suicide and his cancer did not humble him. Sad.

I wish people in Maryland would wake up and smell the coffee. These Dems don’t care about them. Shoot, they don’t even care about their families.

As a resident of Montgomery County MD I continue to be baffled by the attitude of some of the other residents here. As an example, the County Planning Commission has proposed to turning a local shopping center into low cost housing. The destruction of the shopping could very well destroy the local community. When I informed the resident who lives in that community about the Planning Commission’s proposal, her only reaction was that we need more housing. Very smart people who refuse to connect the dots. Truly baffling, and so we have the moron Raskin as our representative in Congress.

Are we truly being “The Bigger, More Virtuous Man” by continuing to turn the cheek in the face of people that wish death upon us?

Shall we permit man to be the ultimate judge, Raskin?
If so, I hope Speaker Johnson judges you to censure and the constituency flexes their judgment to vote you out of office.
Two can play the same game, FA and you will soon FO.

Raskin, Van Hollen,…Maybe Maryland should do us all a favor and secede from the Union

henrybowman in reply to MarkS. | April 21, 2025 at 3:52 pm

Maryland? They couldn’t even figure out what side they were on in the Civil War. They claimed they were batting Union, but their state song had a verse about “spurn[ing] the Northern scum.”

Cool. Do y’all think Mr Raskin would mind if we accelerated the norm shifting vengeance he is proposing and go ahead and implement his proposals now? We could start with the Covid Karens in Govt and their corporate allies. Think Mr Raskin will be onboard or nah?

He sounds like a mobster

Little Jamie should go do the only thing he’s qualified to do, which is strap on some kneepads and suck a barrel of di*ks. What a punk.

Isn’t negotiating treaties against the government against the law.? Threatening a foreign government should also be

ztakddot in reply to Skip. | April 21, 2025 at 5:59 pm

    Only if you’re a republican

Milhouse in reply to Skip. | April 22, 2025 at 9:23 am

There is a law against it, a relic of the 1790s, but it’s probably unconstitutional. No one knows for sure, because no prosecutor dares take it into court where it could be struck down. It’s more useful to keep it on the books as a threat than to actually try to use it and thus risk losing it forever.

Also, even if the Logan Act were constitutional, he has congressional immunity.

Shamie Raacal is a disgrace to Maryland–even though it is basically deep indigo.

Clearly Raskin and the Chinese Communist Party are operating off the same playbook.
