The Trump and Greenland saga continues, with another chapter featuring Vice President J.D. Vance.
In my last report, I noted that Second Lady Usha’ Vance’s trip had morphed from a cultural excursion with her children to view the famous Greenland dog sled race to a visit with her husband to the Pituffik Space Base on the Arctic island to support the trips.
Our Vice President did not disappoint, as he bonded with the troops there with respect and humor.
Our troops received the bulk of his affection. During an address during the visit, Vance unleashed some hard-hitting statements directed at our ally Denmark. Essentially, Vance took a diplomatic sledgehammer to Denmark’s treatment of Greenland, suggesting that Copenhagen has treated the island more like a neglected outpost than a strategic priority.
Vance did not sugar-coat his opinion of the obliviousness Denmark has had to the threats Russia and China pose in this region.
US Vice-President JD Vance has accused Denmark of leaving Greenland vulnerable to alleged incursions by China and Russia, as he asked its people to “cut a deal” with the US.Speaking during a visit to the Arctic island, Vance minimised recent threats by President Donald Trump to take over the island by force…..He used the opportunity to take aim at Denmark, alleging it had to “keep the people of Greenland safe from a lot of very aggressive incursions from Russia, from China, and other nations”, without providing further details. He specifically called out the countries for taking interest in routes and minerals in the region, as the island of 57,000 people is believed to hold massive untapped mineral and oil reserves. In his remarks, Vance sought to reassure the people of Greenland that the US would not use military force to take the island from Denmark. Instead, he urged Greenlanders to embrace “self-determination” and sever ties with Denmark, which has controlled the region since 1721.
I will simply note China has previously expressed interest in mining the region, to secure even more of a rare-earths monopoly than it already has.
The American press coverage of the Vance visit has been disgraceful and has traitorously undermined our security enhancement efforts and negotiations for a more robust partnership. To begin with, CBS laughably insists President Donald Trump is actually going to invade the island.
Vice President JD Vance will join his family Friday on a trip to Greenland — a vast island northeast of Canada that President Trump wants to absorb into the United States. Roughly three times the size of Texas, Greenland is covered mostly by an ice sheet and has a population of only about 56,000….The U.S. president says American must control Greenland for security reasons, and he has refused to rule out using force to make that a reality.
The press also ignores the potential for a wide range of diplomatic arrangements that could be made with an independent Greenland, and how much the Greelanders want to be free of Denmark.

But Vance really let the press corps(e) have it over “Signal-Gate“.
“The same media that covered for the Biden administration after the untimely, unnecessary deaths of 13 Americans is [now] really, really interested in forcing the president to fire someone because of a Signal chat.””That is not honest behavior from the American media. If you think you’re going to force the president to fire anybody, you’ve got another thing coming.”
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump released a new video highlighting historical U.S. military efforts in Greenland and advocating for closer ties with the Arctic territory. The 90-second ad recounts the U.S. defense of Greenland during World War II, particularly a 1943 mission in which American troops sacrificed their lives to protect the island from Nazi forces.
The video connects this historical moment to current geopolitical challenges posed by Russia and China in the Arctic, emphasizing Greenland’s strategic importance for global security and urging unity between the U.S. and Greenland.
“In the cold silence of the tundra, a bond was born not from treaties or trade, but from blood and bravery. While Germany controlled Europe, the Nazis set their sights on the Arctic. Greenland became an unwitting combatant, and the United States stepped in, not to conquer but to protect,” the narrator says in the 90-second video that was released Friday.“In 1943, nearly 1,000 American soldiers with four chaplains set sail from New York to Greenland, carrying with them hope, duty and a quiet fear. But their ship was torpedoed by a Nazi U-boat, and the frigid waters of the North Atlantic became a grave. Those four chaplains gave up their life vests, giving their lives so that others might live to protect America and Greenland,” the narrator said in the video that was created by Securing American Greatness, a pro-Trump dark money group that was formed during the 2024 presidential election.
In conclusion, Greenland is happening, despite the histrionics of the European Union and the American Press. I suspect that there are security threats the Trump administration has detected that the former administration chose to ignore, and that is the reason for the intense focus by Team Trump.
