Trump Grants One Month Tariff Exemption on Autos From Canada, Mexico
“Reciprocal tariffs will still go into effect on April 2.”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that President Donald Trump has granted a one-month tariff exemption on automobiles from Canada and Mexico.
Leavitt said:
We spoke with the big three auto dealers. We are going to give a one month exemption on any autos coming through USMCA [United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement].
Reciprocal tariffs will still go into effect on April 2 but at the request of the companies associated with USMCA, the president is giving them an exemption for one month, so they are not at an economic disadvantage.
So the three companies that he spoke to are Stellantis, Ford, and General Motors. They requested the call. they asked and the president is happy to do it.

Sounds like the negotiations will go forward and hopefully be productive and fair. Canada and Mexico need to get rid of their tariffs.
Hmm
I think that DJT is also telling the whole wide world that the USA is going back into the business of manufacturing – everything;
Off-shoring has weakened our country very badly.
I predict:
1. there will be more emphasis on “shop” courses in high schools
2. there will be more pressure on the unions (they’ve become like media)
This tariff stuff is roiling the markets badly. It goes beyond autos. Nail it all down soon and get the subject off the front pages. No company will plan to hire or build because of uncertainty.
Trump is offering a carrot with one hand and holding a stick behind his back with the other.
Comrades: I have located Karoline Leavitt’s original nose (or the bulk of it). It’s been in a jar of formaldehyde ever since it was lopped off, why I don’t know. But whatever the reason, I propose we put it on display in the White House’s “Guidance on Uniforms” hallway display case. This is where young people can learn exactly which shade of blond hair coloring you should use (it’s lighter than you think), which derma fillers are most appropriate for your age group, and now, how much of your nose to cut off in order to get ahead. Do not thank me for this idea – it is all for the benefit of the collective. For the motherland!
