Joy Behar Gets an Education About Trump’s Mandate From Stephen A. Smith

“swept the floor with Behar’s lousy argument, telling her that Trump won ‘every swing state’ and increased his voter turnout in the black, Hispanic, and young people demographics”

This week on The View, host Joy Behar insisted that the 2024 election did not give Trump a mandate. Behar suggested that even though Trump won every swing state, the Electoral College and the popular vote, he didn’t win the popular vote by so much that it meant anything.

Stephen A. Smith of ESPN, a guest on the show, is not even a Trump supporter, but he schooled Behar on why it was a mandate, and he did a pretty good job.

The Daily Mail has details:

The View host Joy Behar was left speechless after receiving a dramatic dressing down by Stephen A. Smith on her show.

On Tuesday, ESPN star Smith appeared on The View to discuss President Trump – but heated discussions turned sour when Behar put up resistance about accepting Kamala Harris’ defeat to the Republican.

Behar started by addressing Trump’s first few weeks in office, proclaiming that his first six weeks ‘feels like six years, doesn’t it?’

‘And he’s been going around with his cronies, toting his so-called “landslide” and “blow out win” but he won the popular vote by 1.5 percent, one of the smallest ever, and he won the general election by less than 50 percent. So what is this mandate, really?’ she said.

Smith took no time putting Behar in her place with his scathing response.

He defiantly said: ‘It is a mandate, and I’m going to tell you why,’ before stating that he is not a supporter of Trump, but instead he is a supporter of ‘truth.’

The View guest then swept the floor with Behar’s lousy argument, telling her that Trump won ‘every swing state’ and increased his voter turnout in the black, Hispanic, and young people demographics.

‘Eighty nine percent of the counties shifted to the right,’ Smith said, before raising his voice to the panel: ‘That’s a mandate!’

‘I don’t understand how people can look at that and say “that’s no mandate.”‘

Here’s the clip:

Ward Clark commented on this at RedState:

Yes, Democrats, pay Mr. Smith no mind. Continue doing what you’ve been doing. Listen to the harpies of “The View.” It will be fine! These people, honestly, are at the Animal House “Remain calm – All is well!” phase.

Now, Stephen A. Smith gets a couple of things wrong; his insistence, for example, on looking at the “national popular vote” as though it means anything other than a statistical curiosity; that’s not how we elect presidents. But what he does understand is that President Trump’s winning the total overall vote count, while meaning nothing constitutionally, is nevertheless a publicity coup. It makes people like Joy Behar and constitutional (and in every other area) ignoramuses like her take a step back.

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating. The View is the most politically toxic show on television. It’s stunning that it’s considered part of ABC’s ‘news’ division.

It always amazes me how parents often screw up naming their children. For example, a child turns out to be a mean, nasty, unhappy person is named Joy. A negative, gloomy, miserable person is named Whoopie.

And immediately following that exchange, Biden’s old Press Secretary came on to argue the opposite.

And I was happy to see it.

I sincerely hope that the Dems continue dismissing people on their side like Smith who are strenuously trying to get their compatriots to see the light, to recognize the handwriting on the wall and to course correct.

I pray that they continue their tone deaf and self-destructive stubborn adherence to the very precepts that set the stage for Trump’s triumphant return. Please, please please allow them to keep acting the fool and exposing themselves for the uncaring, power-mad elitists that they are.

As things stand today, the Mid-terms should be a blowout. Imagine what Trump and then Vance could accomplish with strong majorities in both the House and Senate.

For the first time in a long time I wish I wasn’t old. For the first time in decades I have a positive outlook on the future of the country and would like to live long enough to see it. Exciting times.

Even if some dems, including some big shots, even if they win – the hard core activists won’t give up. Who knows, maybe some of these Ds have been threatened? I’m not suggesting it but it, too,
    could be a possibility.

Most disturbing was the passiveness, dullness, rude, juvenile behavior of the democrats virtue signaling by wearing pink – spare me.

How any decent educated, Christian or Jew can continue to vote for that type of politician is beyond many of us.

It’s no longer TDS – it may not even be anti-American – it’s the FEAR that they may well be discovered as the party of grifters. Illegal? Get caught – frightening.

Let us hope that the rest of the Communists stay as blind and stupid as Joy behar. They deserve to lose for a long time to come

Behar is such a stupid (non-Jewish – I was corrected earlier) woman.

I don’t care for Smith because I can’t stand the yelling; however, he does made some common sense points from time to time for which he should be given credit.

I propose “a view” as the collective noun for “harridans.”

Every Democrat, before the election: “Mr Trump, you must pledge to accept the results of the upcoming election as reported by our extremely accurate and most secure voting system ever known to the human race!”

Every Democrat, now: This sort of shit.

One had a good point adn the other was Muade Behar.

Joy should have pointed out that the word mandate is a patriarchal term that Democrats no longer recognize and Joy has never had.

The cackling band of harpies getting schooled by a sports commentator should tell you all you need to know about the intellectual depth of that show. I actually changed dentists because she refused to change the channel while I was getting a filling so I was stuck in the chair listening to that drivel. When I left my IQ had dropped so far I was almost unable to remember how to drive my car out of the parking lot.
