Jake Tapper Co-Authors Book on the Cover-Up of Biden’s Decline Despite His and CNN’s Complicity

At this point, saying the media has no shame is like saying water is wet. But you simply have to in this case because it’s like 1000% true as it relates to this particular subject matter.

On Wednesday, CNN anchor Jake Tapper announced on his Twitter/X page that he and co-author Alex Thompson from Axios were coming out with a book that was now available for pre-order.

The book is titled “Original Sin.” The subject matter? Former President Joe Biden’s decline and the cover-up surrounding it:

I wasn’t the only one who was like, “Is this for real?” Tapper, after all, is part of a network that was an active participant in the cover-up, with Tapper himself playing a starring role (unlike Thompson, who was one of the few journalists who has been reporting for years on questions about Biden’s decline).

This October 2020 Tapper interview, for instance, with Lara Lea Trump is a prime example. Here’s a partial recap:

Tapper had aired a clip of Trump’s daughter-in-law claiming that every time Biden speaks, “I’m like ‘Joe, can ya get it out, let’s get the words out, Joe.’ You kinda feel bad for him.” Tapper asked Lara Trump in response, “How do you think it makes little kids with stutters feel when they see you make a comment like that?”

Trump said she didn’t know Biden had famously overcome a stutter, and pivoted to alleging his speech was evidence of “cognitive decline.” Tapper quickly interrupted: “I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline,” he told her, pointing out that “I’m sure it offends you” when people do the same to President Trump.

Watch the sneering and indignant looks on Tapper’s face as Mrs. Trump defended herself against accusations from Tapper that she had made fun of the then-Democrat presidential nominee’s stutter:

Keep in mind that around the same time this interview was happening, Big Tech was busy censoring the blockbuster New York Post story about the Hunter Biden laptop emails from being shared on their platforms, an action media outlets like CNN – which also doubted the story – never condemned.

Though the New York Post‘s account was even blocked for a time from posting thanks to Twitter censors, Tapper actually advised them to delete the supposedly offending tweets so they could start posting from their account again.

Because nothing says “principled journalism” better than capitulating to the mob, right?

Back to the book, Tapper’s announcement understandably prompted some strong reactions:

Let us also not forget other instances of CNN doing their part to keep the cover-up going:

And this was CNN media hall monitor Brian Stelter, just a week or so before the June 2024 Biden-Trump presidential debate and amid the “cheap fakes” talking points that the media were using to describe concerning videos of Biden, including the infamous one from the L.A. fundraiser where former President Barack Obama had to lead him offstage by the hand:

And here was Tapper a couple of weeks before that downplaying that damning Wall Street Journal report on Biden’s decline with a longtime Biden friend, Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE):
