Feds, Virginia Police Arrest Top MS-13 Leader

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin stressed that everyone must “recognize that Virginia is not a sanctuary state.”

Federal authorities and local authorities in Virginia apprehended a top MS-13 leader on the East Coast.

The FBI, ATF, ICE, and Virginia State Police caught the 24-year-old at 4:30 AM local time in Woodbridge, VA.

The authorities did not reveal more details about the illegal alien or the arrest. I’m sure he’ll have fun in El Salvador’s notorious prison, which holds the most violent criminals.

Eastern District Attorney General Eric Siebert told the media the task force began its investigation on March 3. So far, they have “575 targets and 342 arrests.”

Eighty-one of those arrested “had gang or transnational crime affiliations.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi said: “America is safer today because one of the top domestic terrorists in MS-13, he is off the streets. This has been an ongoing directive of President Trump. His directive to me when I became Attorney General of the United States was very simple: keep America safe.”

“He is an illegal alien from El Salvador, and he will not be living in our country much longer,” she added.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin stressed that everyone must “recognize that Virginia is not a sanctuary state.”

“It’s this effort that has been enabled by the Trump administration,” said Youngkin. “The president said, ‘get the bad guys.’ I’ve been working on this for the first three years of our administration with little to no help from the Biden administration.”

“Leader” is the rhetoric of the opposition.

I’m sure judge numbnuts will weigh in any second now…

Charge him.
Try him.
Imprison him.
Upon release, many years from now, deport him.

IMO this is exactly where the focus should be, in Red States and States with leadership not hostile to enforcement actions. Rack up # there while still working truly HVT in Blue jurisdictions. By making it too ‘hot’ for illegal aliens in Red jurisdictions they will either self.deport or flee to Blue/’sanctuary’ jurisdictions. That in turn will put more strain on basic services and add to the local pressure in Blue jurisdictions to cooperate with ICE.

Unfortunately, Virginia has become a pretty Blue state. Youngkin, Winsome-Sears, and Miyares were swept in four years ago by Independents frustrated by Covid policies and school closures. Northern Virginia, essentially the suburbs of DC, are dark Blue. Woodbridge, where the gang member was captured, is in Prince William County,, which Harris won. Many of these Northern Virginia counties consider themselves to be sanctuary counties. In 2020 Prince William County adopted a “noncooperation” policy regarding illegals with ICE.

Yeah, VA is purple but that’s why I made the additional criteria of ‘States with leadership not hostile to enforcement action’. VA may undergo a political shift assuming the NOVA area has an exodus due to DOGE reforms towards a far leaner Federal gov’t and dismissal of the legions of gov’t contractors.

Would love to see that happen but methinks it’s highly unlikely. I doubt Fed employees comprise that great a percentage of the voters here. And a fair number of the contractors are actually former military (as was my now retired spouse) who vote Red. The Blue runs very deep in Northern Virginia; Gerry Connolly won the 11th Congressional District 2024 67-33%. In Arlington County Harris defeated Trump ~ 80-20%.

Sure, very much depends on target of RIF. A household dependent on Federal payroll with 2 incomes and 1 or both get the ax suddenly the mortgage on that sweet suburban home is a problem. Add in student loan payments restarting. There’s the impact on home values if their neighbors get the ax. Don’t want to be the last home to be listed and the potential of declining real estate values due to supply for sale as neighbors get impacted will add another factor into the decision on buy out. I think the residential real.estate market in DC suburbs in Virginia and Maryland are in for a big disruption.
