Dwarf Actors to Protest Disney’s Snow White Over CGI Figures

Dwarf Actors to Protest Disney’s Snow White Over CGI Figures

“When you’re a little person opportunities are few and far between. I was born to play Dopey.”

The Standard reported that dwarf actors would protest Disney’s live-action Snow White because the company used CGI instead of actors with dwarfism.

From the report:

Actress Ali Chapman, 50, who is 3ft 8in tall, branded the remake “a total travesty” and said little people had flown in from around the world to tell Disney “it isn’t acceptable”.

Chapman said: “It’s a total travesty. People have come from everywhere to tell Disney it isn’t acceptable.”

Her husband, actor Matt McCarthy, who is 4ft 1in and also has dwarfism, said: “We’ve been totally shut out but we’re not going down quietly. It’s hard enough in Hollywood. Everyone’s trying to make their dreams come true. When you’re a little person opportunities are few and far between. I was born to play Dopey.”

Breitbart’s John Nolte doesn’t blame them. He has been vocal about Disney ditching dwarf actors since 2023.

Nolte mentioned the outrage from Peter Dinklage when he slammed Disney for supposedly gloating about casting a Latina as Snow White but remade a movie about little people living together in a cave:

This all started with actor Peter Dinklage, who upon hearing about the remake lashed out at the idea of including dwarfs. “It makes no sense to me,” he said. “You’re progressive in one way, but then you’re still making that fucking backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together.”

I understand why Dinklage did it. He’s no dummy. When it comes to hiring little people, he’s the go-to guy and doesn’t want the competition. But the dummies at Disney immediately caved, removed the seven dwarfs, and replaced them with full-size “magical beings,” who looked ridiculous.

After the “magical being” backlash, rather than hire seven dwarf actors who undoubtedly need the work and would like to “feel seen,” craven Disney used CGI dwarfs instead.

The protest’s organizer Jeff Beacher is angry: “If Hollywood is about inclusion and diversity then you could have had talented little people actors in all of these roles. This is a moment in history. Equality is a movement but when it comes to little people no-one in Hollywood is listening.”

There are three villains in this

1. DEI in general-Without it Disney would have had no motive for the behavior

2. Disney-It is so progressive no matter how absurd any leftist asshole cause is the Disney cause.

3. Peter Dinklage (sp)-Founder of the feast for getting dwarf roles away from dwarfs now that he has his fame and fortune he is burning the opportunity for everyone else.

Dinklage doesn’t seem to understand that folkloric dwarfs (like Tolkien’s “dwarves,” the plural intentionally spelled differently to separate them from human “dwarfs”) are people, but a separate race (and in some folkloric universes, not human at all, as Tolkien’s dwarves weren’t human – they were created separately by what Gnostics might call a demiurge – a divine power lesser than the creator god). Their depiction as miners, smiths, underground/cave dwellers, etc. comes from folklore that does not present them as dwarf humans, but as a distinct race or people unrelated to humans.

Dinklage fully understands the history and is no fool. It is just that he has his and now is into virtue signaling. That is more important to him as he want’s to remain in the loop for the parties.

While what you say is true. The Dwarves in Snow White may just be Seven Little Men as the title of the fairy tale is rendered often. The is a real life reason dwarf humans would be miners. They need smaller mineshafts. There is nothing particularly derogatory in the depictions either in the fairy tale or the original Disney animated movie. In both the little men are depicted as hard working, generous to strangers, and protective of the innocent. Some of the individual dwarves in the movie are given comical attributes but those attributes are often given to “normal” sized men in other movies.

I would agree if not for the fact that I think Dinklage is just a horrible person.

I think he knows but doesn’t care because he has his chance to extend his moment in the sun and be the last of something while everyone humors and begs him for approval.

“Tolkien’s “dwarves,” the plural intentionally spelled differently to separate them from human “dwarfs”

      Huh?
It’s an English language quirk inherited from its Germanic roots.
Dwarf, dwarves. Knife, knives. Hoof, hooves. Beef, beeves (yup).
We don’t use “rooves” anymore, but 250 years ago we did.
When you see “dwarfs” used today, it’s only the same linguistic drift, it’s not because of any connotational subtlety.

Dinklage is pulling the step-stool up behind him.

The dwarfs are first, but with faster computers and AI I foresee a time when rendering will become so good that there is no need for actors.

When you’ve lost the dwarves…

They got short changed.

This is why you don’t cave to whiny opinions in the first place. Because there are tons of people out there with an axe to grind and often in opposite directions.

The Lollipop Guild will strike.

Recall that the original live actors were Mr. Dinklage and seven (seven, not six, because of course Disney would add one; from his looks I think his name was ‘Pedo’) other people who weren’t short-statured. If you saw the short video clip of Snow Brown in the field with Dinklage and the other seven you saw that immediately. That video alone was enough to sink Disney even without Dinklage’s whinging.

Given the amount of screen time the actors had, replacing them with CGI (and voicing them, etc) had to add substantial cost to the film. But Disney did it because they finally saw that the original actors caused the film to stink on ice.

Now, if only they’d spent the extra $50 million and replaced Ms. Ziegler…

Peter Dinklage is a great example of why DEI cannot succeed; people who are purely self-interested weaponize the concept to keep themselves employed at the expense of even their own “group.” And if you have anything to say about it, you’re the one who has a bias problem.

You cannot listen to every whiner, for there are millions with different complaints. They had no issue telling “white male” Star Wars fans that the franchise wasn’t about them (to the studio’s detriment). They should have done the same to Peter Dinklage.

This is a man who said that casting little people as FICTIONAL MYTHOLOGICAL DWARVES was a damaging stereotype but he got paid the big bucks to be a punchline in Elf. A small man in every sense

Unfortunately, the intent of DEI isn’t success. It’s division, a Marxist cudgel to be used to smash traditional society in order to make way for the revolution.

“You cannot listen to every whiner, for there are millions with different complaints.”
But the entire premise of DEI is that you can run instant N-dimensional matrix math and immediately compute who automatically wins any dispute under “bigger victim” rules.
Then you discover you can’t, almost certainly because math is rayciss.
Then it’s every man for himself and “Kendi, Bar The Door.”

Snow White and the Seven Figure Loss.
Just kidding. They’re going to lose in the hundreds of millions in this one.

My favorite little actor is Brad Williams.
He is a hilarious stand-up comedian. Sometimes I disagree some things, but that does not stop me from recognizing that it’s funny.

My favorite actor is the famous mental midget, Joe Biden, It was hilarious the way he pretended to be president for four years, making everybody laugh as he fell down stairs, smelled little girl’s hair, pretended to answer reporters’ questions and jostled with the Easter bunny.

Michael J. Anderson wins my personal award. Twin Peaks and Carnivale, two mind-blowing series. I was so bummed when he died, I looked forward to his stuff The man had talents both conventional and bizarre, The whole talking backward shtick in Twin Peaks was written into the plot because they found out that Anderson was already proficient in it. Of course, Lynch also recast one of the actual set dressers as the evil supernatural villain just because he looked like such a stone thug.

Apparently this movie is so bad that Peter D. actually ended up doing the human dwarf actors a favor.

Disney should just have cast 7 Hamas plus Snow White – maybe cast a Jewish SW. Then their base would all have been happy with the result. /s

Methinks Disney is not yet done stepping on rakes…

Old adage: When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

Disney: “We’d like to order another $270 million worth of shovels, please.”

One reportedly said “I’m not happy…” So which one are you then? 🙂

I find it particularly annoying when people assume or expect me to understand the meaning of their acronyms.

Woke disney is such a fraud.

First they came for the Dwarves, but I did not speak out because there was no shortage of Dwarves.
