Dem Rep Slams FBI’s Tesla Investigation as ‘Lawfare’ and ‘Political Weaponization’
“Trump uses his official authority to defend his benefactor Elon Musk. The FBI then creates a task force to use our law enforcement to ‘crack down’ on adversaries of Musk’s.”

On Monday, Fox News reported that the FBI had formed a new task force to address the rising number of attacks on Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and charging stations across the country. What initially started as protests against Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency efforts to uncover waste, fraud, and abuse in the U.S. federal budget has, in recent weeks, escalated into acts of violence.
Typically, actions such as throwing Molotov cocktails at Tesla vehicles, planting explosives under cars, shooting at dealership facilities, harassing vehicle owners, and setting fire to electric vehicle charging stations would be classified as criminal offenses. However, because these actions are being directed at a company owned by Elon Musk, many Democrats not only condone these attacks but believe they are justified.
Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY), who appears to have assumed Adam Schiff’s mantle as the most truth-challenged member of the House Democratic Caucus, blasted the move on Tuesday, calling it “the political weaponization of the DOJ.”
He took to X to accuse Trump of using “his official authority to defend his benefactor Elon Musk. The FBI then created a task force to use our law enforcement to ‘crack down’ on adversaries of Musk’s. Where are the Republicans so opposed to ‘lawfare’?”
Now, while I understand that Democrats are panicking over the upcoming end of their decades-long, taxpayer-funded gravy train, it’s still hard to fathom that a U.S. congressman would publicly defend domestic terrorism.
As Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said so eloquently recently, “Our secret Republican plan for dealing with the Democrats is called, ‘Operation: Let them speak.’”
This is the political weaponization of the DOJ.
Trump uses his official authority to defend his benefactor Elon Musk.
The FBI then creates a task force to use our law enforcement to “crack down” on adversaries of Musk’s.

Attorney General Pam Bondi correctly began referring to the Tesla attacks as domestic terrorism which the DOJ defines as “involving criminal acts dangerous to human life, occurring within the U.S. or its territories, that appear intended to coerce a civilian population or influence government policy through intimidation or coercion, or by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping.”
Can anyone seriously argue that throwing Molotov cocktails, randomly shooting into a car dealership, and detonating bombs to destroy vehicles do not meet that definition?
In a recent op-ed, George Washington University law professor and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley argued that the Tesla attacks “fit even the narrowest definition” of domestic terrorism. “It is political violence designed to intimidate and harm those with opposing political views.”
Turley noted: “Democrats have long been accused of belittling or dismissing the seriousness of such crimes. There is a sense of license among some on the left in carrying out attacks on those on the right.
“This is how rage rhetoric of leaders like Goldman can fuel violent rage in the most unhinged elements of their party.”
In a separate piece, Turley wrote:
What few today want to admit is that they [Democrats] like it. They like the freedom that it affords, the ability to hate and harass without a sense of responsibility. It is evident all around us as people engage in language and conduct that they repudiate in others. We have become a nation of rage addicts; flailing against anyone or anything that stands in opposition to our own truths.
Once released by the rage from the confines of reason and civility, it is easy to dismiss the investigation of political violence as ‘political weaponization.’ In attacking the FBI investigation, Goldman is the very voice of an age of rage.
From the moment Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency exposed the U.S. Agency for International Development as little more than a global slush fund for progressive causes, hysteria replaced rational thinking, preventing the party from mounting a coherent response. DOGE had struck a nerve, and Democrats have been lashing out haphazardly ever since.
Goldman’s reckless post is yet another example of a Democrat doubling down on the losing side of an 80-20 issue. Unfortunately, his tone-deaf remark won’t impact his reelection prospects in New York’s deep blue 10th Congressional District. However, should he ever choose to run for statewide or national office, it could certainly come back to haunt him.
But long before that, his reckless comment—along with similarly misguided remarks from his colleagues—will further tarnish the Democratic Party’s brand, already weakened by the November election.
The American people understand right from wrong, and they also recognize which party is responsible for the current madness.

Now do The Clintons!
Maybe Trump should not endorse Tesla electric vehicles in a press conference in front of the White House with Elon Musk. Two billionaires endorsing each other in front of the White House is not a good optic for working class Americans who voted for Trump. Trump supporters are not billionaires feeding off of each other.

Maybe it’s OK for the POTUS to promote American products, American industry, and American jobs. Just a few days ago, Trump was touting a new Boeing product (and he flies in Boeing aircraft). Musk’s Tesla isn’t the first American product Trump has boosted.
“Two billionaires endorsing each other in front of the White House is not a good optic for working class Americans who voted for Trump.”
How the hell would you know, Junior?
Concern troll is concerned… AGAIN.
Ridiculous analysis. Working class Americans aspire to be like Trump or Musk, who are authentic, and not pretending to care about the average man like too many Democrats.
Tesla is an American company. It’s stock is held by pension funds across the nation. Elon only owns a little less than 13% of Tesla. Why wouldn’t you want to endorse an American company that’s made money for pension funds of ordinary Americans? It’s weird that you’d want to see them diminished or harmed.
The Dhimmi-crat Party is the party of billionaires, as evidenced by the latter group’s campaign contributions and political loyalties.
None of Trump’s supporters give a damn about the “optics” of #47 and Musk teaming up, because they are manifestly doing laudable and good work exposing fraud, waste and embezzlement from the federal public fisc.
Most Presidents have done a show and tell with car manufacturers in front of the White House. One reason for Musk snubbing the Dems was because the Biden Administration snubbed Tesla when they invited American EV manufacturers to the White House. Musk, rightly so, pointed out that Tesla had done more for mainstreaming EVs in less time than Ford or GM ever did. Trump bought that Tesla with his personal money, not the government’s.
Actually it’s very good optics. That is exactly what they voted for, and what they expected and wanted to see.
No matter what Trump does it doesn’t justify Democrats attacking Tesla and Tesla owners. They are proving that they haven’t changed since they fought to keep blacks enslaved and oppressed.
An also do the JRs of America. I suspect IT is another Paid Dem stooge.
And…?
DEMOCRAT RULES!
Hey, remember the retail store that suddenly developed IRS problems after unenthusiastically hosting a Biden photo op?
Good times!
No, Henry, I don’t remember . Tell us about it.
Endless aliases, easy to tell because stupid comments.
One correction: not an IRS investigation, an EEOC investigation. Memory is what it is.
Here’s the report.
More on how well the photo op didn’t go for Biden.
“Nice gas station you got here. Shame if anybody investigated it for being racist.”
The left has fantasies of a “Purge”, a 24 hour period of lawlesness where you can legally exact revenge on a perceived threat.
If it were to happen I think a lot of proponents of such an event would be horrified to find out that we fight back.
The left sent 10 agents in ‘investigate’ a garage door pull.
Sit down, clowns.
JR is an amateur clown?
No, Junior is a professional clown.
I guess you can call it professional but Ringling has really gone downhill since they brought in the robot animals.
Union member, if I recall.
Unless that was the other Junior.
They sent ten agents to investigate something that even if it were nota garage door pull, even if it had been exactly what they thought it was, would not have been a crime. I still don’t understand what the official excuse was for that investigation. What crime did they put down in their records as the one they were investigating?
The leftist wokiestas want to create a cosplay like the IRA had. ‘Oh those militant, terrorists who use violence are not affiliated with us their ideological fellow travelers in political and media circles oh heavens no’.
Here Goldman goes right by the IRA playbook in condemning any govt action to investigate/arrest and convict the violent terrorists as a politically motivated witch hunt. What’s different today is the internet and ease of bringing past and current statements to public view v the stranglehold of pre internet gate keeping legacy media. Hard to play the terrorist acts v Tesla both corporate and individual owners as anything but that.
“it’s still hard to fathom that a U.S. congressman would publicly defend domestic terrorism.”
It’s today’s Democrat Party, I find it easy to fathom.
How is today’s Democrat party any different from the one that gave us the Civil War, the Klan, Jim Crow, race riots, the Black,Bloc, Antifa, and BLM?
The Democratic Party has been telling darker-skinned what is best for them since 1828.
Dammit, “darker-skinned *people*.”
The accent.
If they were burning Levis in stores would he object?
Yes, Levi’s are totally woke, wayyy over the top
Only one-legged ones.
Goldman is yet another embarrassment to American Jews. What a tool.
Goldman is an idiot. I’m guessing he stands in awe of the towering intellects of imbeciles like Hank Johnson, Tampon Tim and the Heifers of The View. It must be embarrassing to be represented by such an impotent pissant.
If the cowards on the left would have done this during the racist riots we wouldn’t be here now.
Wow, what a surprise that communist retards support terrorism. I would never have guessed
Since he is from NY, we can understand. More from NY, from the Dastardly Gateway Pundit and LaChance:
“Democrat New York State Senator Introduces Bill That Would Ban Tesla Dealerships in the State”
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/03/democrat-new-york-state-senator-introduces-bill-that/
These people, speaking to and for themselves, are so far from reality they are dangerous when with power. But as LaChance concludes:
“Democrats and their constant attacks on Elon Musk and Tesla are sending a very loud message to the rest of the country and it is ultimately going to hurt their party more than Musk or Tesla.”
That sounds suspiciously like a bill of attainder.
“Political weaponization”
One can only assume that Goldman has not been paying attention for several years.
Oh, he’s been paying attention all right. Remember what his previous job was, before he was elected to congress. And how he parlayed it into a safe Democrat seat.
Ignoring the rise in domestic terrorism on the left is the actual politicization of the DOJ.
I wonder if Goldman would consider the fire bombing of his political offices an act of terrorism and thus decline any offer of Federal investigation?
There is a point that has not been widely discussed regarding the use of Domestic Terrorism statutes to go after Tesla protesters. Namely, since about 2010 democrat areas of the country have not been effectively prosecuting rioters who commit crimes for leftist causes. In most cases, that effectively gives the rioters a pass, because the federal government usually has no jurisdiction over crimes such as vandalism, arson, etc. By using terrorism statutes such as 18 USC §2331(5), the US government can charge these crimes, and can even prosecute them (to a degree) outside of some of these leftist jurisdictions. This is a real threat to the leftists, as they have been essentially immune from any repercussions. They have been able to act as the military arm of the leftist movement. They are now at risk. And they don’t like it. I suspect you will see a significant decrease in rioting even in blue areas over then next few months as the word gets out to the leftist brown shirts.
Arson is a federal crime if carried out on a federal facility or one involved in interstate commerce. So says a simple search. Since Tesla is a national company and Tesla dealerships can sell across state lines, it seems that would apply here.
Discussion?
.
ID the entities organizing, funding and coordinating these violent terrorist acts and go after the individual members of the entities. RICO isn’t just for the mafia it can also be used v the lefty ‘mob’. Pun intended.
A progressive fascist attacked conservatives in Berkeley California. He hit them in the head with one of those heavy U shaped bicycle locks that could easily kill someone. It was Berkeley so the prosecutor let him off with a slap on the wrist ie a misdemeanor with community service. The prosecutor committed a crime by not charging him with felony attempted murder. Is there a law from the days when prosecutors failed to prosecute their fellow klansmen.
I’m reminded of the comment made by Goldman re the call Hunter made to his father during one of his “business meetings”. Goldman stated that Biden just talked about the weather. If that BS is the best Goldman could come up with on the fly it proves his intellectual ability. He’s always pushing his policies on IG almost daily. Clearly he seeks higher office. Seems he has an issue not paying his parking tickets. Such is his concern for laws and the connivence of others. A slick shyster hyping to the morons that refuse to think.

Oh, goodie, my representative has put himself in the news again. Imagine how proud I must be.
I suggest he should set fire to a Tesla himself and find out what happens next.
“Your opinion is noted and discarded. But we will remember it, and should there ever be a wave of terrorism against Democrat congressmen, or against abortion clinics, we will trot out your words and have the FBI ignore it, as you say we should do in this case.
