Will the Deep State Be Beaten via a ‘Kobayshi Maru’ Maneuver by DOGE Team?
In this Star Trek analogy, Elon Musk is captain of the Department of Government Efficiency crew using tech power to stop death by bureaucracy.
Science fiction fans will recall references to the Kobayasi Maru maneuver mentioned in Star Trek.
The Kobayashi Maru is a no-win scenario training exercise in the Star Trek universe designed by Starfleet Academy to test cadets in a command position.
In the simulation, the cadet is in command of a starship that receives a distress call from a fuel ship, the Kobayashi Maru, which is stranded and damaged in the Neutral Zone between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. To rescue the ship, the cadet must enter the Neutral Zone, which risks an attack by the Klingons.
If the cadet attempts the rescue, a large Klingon force targets their vessel. The cadet is forced to choose between attempting to rescue the Kobayashi Maru or leaving the fuel ship to certain destruction.
All cadets previous to the famous Capt. James Tiberius Kirk had to deal with death and failure. However, he succeeded by reprogramming the computer.
By analogy, federal special employee Elon Musk could be considered captain of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) crew.
And he just made a fascinating reference to the “K. Maru”.

During the past 2 weeks, the DOGE team has been using their tech savvy and the power of Artificial Intelligence and programming to sweep through the massive data sets accumulated by government agencies. They have connected funding amounts to their final destinations.
Fraud and graft can’t hide behind gigantic data sets and lazy employees anymore.
The DOGE Crew’s work has allowed President Donald Trump, Sec. of State Marco Rubio, and other agency administrators the ability to defund activities and groups not aligned with the “America First” agenda and the will of the American people who elected Trump into office….and were comfortable knowing that Trump had assembled a team he was bringing with him.
Joe Lonsdale is an American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and philanthropist known for co-founding several influential companies (Palantir Technologies, Adepar, and OpenGo) explains the power of the “reprogramming” that is occurring.

So far, the discoveries the DOGE team has made are compelling, chilling, and angering. I would like to focus on just one of their findings.
Legal Insurrection readers will recall my post on Brent Efron, an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) special advisor implementing Biden’s climate agenda, making many controversial statements during an undercover video about the agency’s actions in anticipation of a potential Trump administration.
Efron reportedly told Project Veritas that the EPA was rapidly distributing billions of dollars in grants to nonprofits as an “insurance policy” against Trump winning the election. He described the situation as “throwing gold bars off the Titanic,” referring to the urgency with which the agency allocates funds.
Thanks to DOGE, some of the gold bars have surfaced.

This post illustrates the biggest problem in government quite well. Hiding behind bureaucratic walls, slow walking answers, burying data etc from people with no expertise on how to find it. Everyone knew it was there but couldn’t get the answers. Musk’s “the government now how tech support” is the answer. Run, hide, bury, obfuscate, deny all they want, the money will be found because it comes from somewhere, someone soon to be fired signed off on it and it went somewhere. A lot won’t be able to be clawed back but none will move that way again.

Makes sense. If you’re a non-technical person and you go to a department and ask them what they spent the money on, you have to rely on the people who wrote and use the department’s database to answer your questions. And you have no way of knowing if they lie to you or leave things out. If that’s what’s been happening, the bureaucratic rot is very deep.
Look at how far back the rot at CIA goes: back in the 1970s ie the absolute height of the Cold War with the Soviet Union, the CIA personnel department hired John Brennan after he admitted he had voted for Gus Hall, Communist Party USA candidate for President.
They knowingly hired a pro-communist to protect the US from the Soviet Union, and later made him Director of the CIA.
Let that percolate a bit.

Until I hear the language changing from “Oops, we got caught” to “You have the right to remain silent” I am not getting my hopes up much here. There must be real consequences other than just less taxpayer money is wasted in the future.

Anyone who has waited almost 2 years for the IRS to acknowledge a substantial over payment, and then cheat you out of thousands of dollars for being late on your payment, that was far in excess of what was due, knows that someone receiving vast sums of money from SS and the IRS with no SSN is not just unlikely, it smells of theft by an IRS or SS employee.

Star Fleet Academy’s Kobayashi Maru problem wasn’t a choice between abandoning the Maru or possible destruction while making a rescue attempt. It was a rescue mission gamed to be a no-win situation. The cadet would lose his ship. Kirk re-programmed the scenario so that he could win because, as he said, “I don’t believe in no-win situations.” The idea was to place maximal stress (for a simulation, which can be surprisingly “real” to participants) on the cadets by having them face certain death. “Winning” was impossible, but that wasn’t the point of the exercise.

This is really not even phase 1. This is phase zero, find out ‘how’ the bureaucracy is moving $ around, the ‘where’ it is parked prior to sending it on to ‘whom’ along with the pass through stops along the way. It also creates not just a chain of which bureaucrats are making decisions but very importantly whether the funds are appropriated and authorized for a specific or general purpose.
Next is phase 1 in which the funds without a Congressional authorization for a specific purpose are temporarily or perhaps permanently impounded. The Executive may have to release/spend the dollars by end of fiscal year but are probably on solid ground to at least delay until 30 Sept. Some of this is occurring in parallel while phase zero is occurring in other Departments and Agencies.
Phase 2 is where Congress comes in. They will likely be called upon to authorize repurposing the ID ‘fraud, waste, abuse’ and funds without a Congressional directive to be spent on a specific purpose. Use some for border security and send the rest to shore up SSA/Medicare would my recommendation; that should gain enough political cover for this to happen. Probably gonna end up with something around $1 Trillion.
Phase 3 is longer term/next budget changes to zero out the wasteful spending entirely. New budget needed in March so not a whole lot of time. This is one reason the d/prog and their allies are trying to delay and obstruct simply ID the 5 W for the spending; they know the spending is being used for largely indefensible purposes in the view of average Citizens.

As Musk shuts down the payroll dept of America’s enemies, it will be interesting to see how fast they disappear. Anyone who has looked at politics at the City/County level in a blue or purple state has known that you are ALWAYS David against a government funded goliath.
The incumbents are all on the payroll of government directly OR indirectly on the government tit via these programs. I don’t think these programs are all international either as was the case with USAID. I think some blue states and purple states will turn red as they amount of our cash they have available to fund their weaponization of government runs out.
