Congress passed the Stafford Act in 1988 allows federal agencies to deploy assistance to state, tribal, and local governments when hit by a major disaster or emergency.
The act defines emergency as “any occasion or instance for which, in the determination of the President, Federal assistance is needed to supplement State and local efforts and capabilities to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, or to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in any part of the United States.”
A major disaster is “any natural catastrophe (including any hurricane, tornado, storm, high water, winddriven water, tidal wave, tsunami, earthquake, volcanic eruption, landslide, mudslide, snowstorm, or drought), or, regardless of cause, any fire, flood, or explosion, in any part of the United States, which in the determination of the President causes damage of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant major disaster assistance under this Act to supplement the efforts and available resources of States, local governments, and disaster relief organizations in alleviating the damage, loss, hardship, or suffering caused thereby.”
New York City Hall told The New York Post that the city has only used “$19 million of all $237 million in federal funding that has been awarded to the city during the migrant crisis have gone toward hotels, luxury and otherwise.”
“The $59 million in question appears to correspond with long-expected FEMA funding previously disclosed by City Hall, seemingly undercutting Musk’s insinuation that it was a fresh discovery,” added The New York Post.
Yeah, well, I didn’t know about it. Did you?
Apparently NYC has only received $81 million of the $237 million.
I say cut it off and send the money to North Carolina.

Illegals should be warehoused, yep in a real warehouse, until they are deported.
When the recession started in the 70s I was stiffed for a $40,000 receivable. I rented space in a warehouse which was only heated to 40 degrees. I hauled propane tanks in to get it to 60. It was not fun, but I got along ok.

Random federal judges in blue state backwaters have no authority to unilaterally dictate who the President may talk to or what data he can access.
John Roberts and SCOTUS have two options here: they can bring these inferior malcontents to heel, or they can get used to the President simply ignoring these inferior courts or Congress eliminating them entirely.
Congress created these inferior courts so the Supreme Court wouldn’t have to deal with every federal case by itself. But if these rogue inferior judges are going to routinely issue lawless decisions that the Supreme Court has to deal with anyway, Congress would be well within its rights to just eliminate them.
Roberts and SCOTUS can immediately put these lawless judges in their place, or Roberts can watch his caseload go up 1000x and his court’s precious perceived legitimacy crater overnight.
This is exactly correct. Most people don’t realize that Marbury vs Madison was filed with The Supreme Court. The US District Court for the District of Columbia wasn’t even created until roughly 80-years after the Constitution was ratified. And, even though the DC Circuit was in existence in 1803, they still filed the case with SCOTUS. The Founders NEVER intended to have the most inferior judges enacting ‘restraining orders’ on the Executive. That was never the intent of the District Court system.
Pull back that money.
The judiciary cannot be superior to the Executive branch, any more than the President can tell the courts what cases to pursue,
It is long past time that these rogue judges are put in their place, whether through a slap-down by SCOTUS or impeachment by Congress, but this is wholly untenable.
Congress could decide to eliminate the inferior Courts; District and Circuit (Appeals). No amendment needed, just a vote. They could then reorganize the Circuits to better reflect population even adding one or more new Circuits and reauthorize the various inferior Judicial positions…which Trump could then nominate 100% of these vacancies.
Not the preferred plan due to all the drama and whining that would ensue but if the various vain glorious District CT Judges keep this crap up and SCOTUS refuses to slap down their antics …it becomes more not less likely.
The executive branch, like anyone else, must obey all valid court orders. Otherwise there could be no such thing as a writ of habeas corpus, which the constitution explicitly endorses and protects.
There is no valid court order. District Judges have no authority under the law which they were created from to issue an “nationwide injunction”. They just started doing it and everyone acted like it was valid. They should be ignored and Bondi should take this to SCOTUS to force them to stop. Then the judges doing it should be removed from the bench

Didn’t Mayorkas say under oath in a Congressional Hearing that there was no money left at FEMA? Since we are now in the business of deporting illegals again there appears to be a few buildings where we know right where they are and can save the taxpayers millions by doing it. A 0300 raid seems to be in order.
Find the people at FEMA that sent this money and send them to jail.
